In a village on the Isle of Arcas in the mountainr range of the north. After the birth of the illegitimate son of Eward and Sophia, Dion, whose mother is a traveling merchant by the name of Maria. Sophia gave birth to another child, Charles. Charles could speak at a very early age and could speak well. He made quite alot of friends and was quite the popular boy in his village, a boy named Andrew who was one year younger than Charles, would always climb the tree's which caused Charles to follow and fall down since he couldn't get to the same heights as his friend. He was home schooled by his mother Sophia who told stories about the Cloud Temple nearby. Though Charles had a bad relationship with his brother Dion who was very rude to him and his mother he did still love his brother. At the age of 13 his village was attacked by a horde of bandits, before that a mercenary had been hired to protect the village and whilst he was cutting down people one by one, young Charles watched him which amazed Charles and inspired him to become a warrior just like him. But because the mercenary was very expensive his village couldn't pay him and went in debt which all citizens would get an equal share off. At the age of 15 a man on horseback, the man who had protected the village two years earlier, came to visit his home. He barged in and demanded payment of a debt that Charles's parents owed him. Sophia and Edward couldn't pay and were forced to hand over Dion and Charles as a result. Charles was heartbroken by the fact that he was taken away from his parents, friends and lovely village. Dion on the otherhand was estatic for a new beginning. Charles and Dion were forced to work in the mines and land to provide for the village where they were held. They would be locked up in a cell troughout the night in a village which would always be cold and covered in snow. The brothers were treated relatively well but Charles was set on gaining his freedom back. After 3 years Dion would pass away due to disease which left a scar on Charles troughout the rest of his life. Eventually the village where he was held captive would be attack by a foe of theirs, Charles took the opportinity and escaped. Since then he would travel around the world and seek chances where he could get his glory and fame.
