The little Zak was born to a Mali’ame father and Heartlander mother on Almaris. He was a happy baby, spending a lot of time with his father and his pet mouse he kept. Up until age five, all was normal, until it all took a turn for the worst. While he doesn’t know what happened, his parents had a falling out and ended up splitting up. Unfortunately for him, he ended up in the care of his mother, and this would be the start of an uncertain future for him. But the young Zak didn’t know of this, as far as he was concerned, his father was called away for ‘business’, but he was never to return back home.
Now at the age of five, and living alone with his mother, things started to change. Slowly a connection was severed, voices were raised and Zak started to feel fear. He was ordered around to do tasks for his mother, cleaning, organizing, that sort of thing. But as he got older, the tasks got more labour-enduring. This happened throughout his childhood, and the one thing he never speaks of is his mother’s behaviour. She’d hit him and lock him away, starve him in worse cases, she felt no love for him but saw amusement in seeing him in pain and struggling. The source of a new growing anxiety is linked to these events leading him to struggle.
After being freed from captivity after a familial tragedy at seventeen, he spent weeks on end awake and aware of what was going on around him for the first time; though his time asleep troubled by painful memories and worries that plague his mind. About now he’s trying to readjust to the rest of the world, relying on others to help him out. He's settling into a house in Elysium and is starting to come out of his shell a bit more, though he still has a lot to work on. Over time, he would start to show more of himself to the world around him, working bit by bit to get through the trauma that left him so locked up in himself: but no matter how much progress he made he feared it would all come crashing back down at some point soon. It was always something he feared, and he knew to trust his fears.

The last six years have been touch and go for Zak, he still keeps to himself on most days and still lives alone. He tries to freelance work here and there to keep himself afloat and satisfied. For enjoyment, he continues to play his music, guitar specifically, and he will sit on a quiet corner and play his music to build his confidence. Here he can passively challenge his anxieties and control himself when everything gets a bit much. Sometimes he can be seen walking around and keeping to himself; passively observing everything that goes on around him, hoping that one day he has the confidence he currently lacks.
