Hollus was born in a middle class family in Redenford, his father being a traveling merchant and his mother staying at home to take care of him, his father being away most of the year due to the nature of his work Hollus depended on his mother to raise him, he recieved education at the local school and had average grades, despite being smart he preferred to play sports and spend time with his mother at home. Hollus' mother taught him many useful traits such as cooking, smelting and archery and would constantly practice these skills in his free time.
Growing up his father would tell him stories about his many travels as a merchant, from his father he would learn about the long history and vast stretches of the Empire, he would hear stories of the many wars waged against the enemies of the nation and of the exotic tales about other races like the Orcs & Elves.
He grew up with many friends whom he would play sports and hike with. Unlike his friends who wanted to become intellectuals and merchants after completing their schooling, Hollus had a strong sense of civil service which was sparked when he volunteered to join the local "fire fighting brigade" in his teen years, this only strengthened his love for civil service and convinced him even more to pursue a career in the Imperial Military.
