Aux Talidar was born to be a politician, the son of nobles, and educated accordingly in the town of Vinterhaven. Despite this, all he wanted for himself was to fight as a warrior for his people, but was dissuaded by his father. Later in life, with his father bedridden, he was expected to negotiate a vital alliance with a nearby power in order to provide a common defense against the desert-based raiders. His lack of prowess and confidence led to the deal falling through, his father dying of disappointment. He knew his only chance of redemption would come from organizing his people to defend themselves, and despite an inconclusive outcome, the people's defense and its resulting casualties on the raiders would become legend, keeping them safe from any potential attacks for decades.
