  1. Somewhere in a forgotten back-alley a blue tinted devil feasts upon a stolen chicken from a nearby farm. Laughter bellowed from the teen as he read the missive, wiping his mouth with his sleeve. Perhaps it was something he misunderstood, or just did not know yet. "Doesn't that mean they need to kill this child too?" - The devil tossed the remaining carcass aside, dismissing himself from his dinner and leaving his mess behind for his eventual hunters to clean up.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Druidic Communion

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Druidic Communion is considered the basis of the deific magic known as Druidism. These gifts are given to descendants who have proved their worth to their guides. The gifts themselves allow the descendant to better understand and perceive the natural world around them. While a normal descendant may hear the birds morning song as the sun rises, a druid will understand much more. For their souls are now tied to the forest and the song, they can hear all that is natural and living.

Compared to the elder druids, the newly attuned will certainly struggle with the bombardment of natures song in the back of their psyche. Though with time, such becomes more of a trivial matter as they progress and learn how to understand the natural world more. About half way through a druids time getting a grip on their new found abilities, they can optionally decide to seek further beyond the base abilities communion grants you. At T3 one can learn Blight Healing or Herblore- while upon reaching T4 a druid could attempt to start teaching others the gifts. While some of the more difficult teachings are often sought out once a druid hits T5, an example being Transcendence.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Druidic Communion can be broken down into three separate subsections with differing abilities to follow:

(Communion) : The subsection that encompasses general understanding, perception, and communication of nature. Communion being the first thing taught to the new druid, an ability that grows alongside them. The newly attuned will hear natures cacophony as a blend and mess of noise, hardly able to differentiate one thing from another. However, as one continues to grow and learn, a druid could eventually communicate with most flora and fauna. Giving the druid a brand new outlook on the natural world around them.

(Control) : The subsection that encompasses the manipulation of nature. A druid could perhaps grow some trees- or perhaps ungrow them if need be in a matter of moments; when such would usually take years to achieve naturally. Druids could also call upon the roots or branches of trees to constrain or attack something to the druids whim.

(Infusion) : The subsection that encompasses the infusion and control of a druids natural energies. Whether it be imparting ones energy to another druid to aid in exhaustion relief, or to infuse ones energy into an object to aid in something similar. An example could be as follows- Making a makeshift battery for ones druidic energies, similar to sharing power with others. The art of attunement also falls under this category.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    (Beastspeak T5)

While Nedai was wandering through the glade he noticed a bird cawing at him repeatedly. Unsure what the avian wanted, he focused his attention upon it. Allowing his eyes to glow a deep red as he folded his hands behind his back. [1/3]

As the 'ker continued to study the bird that ever so wanted his attention, he took a few steps forward. Studying the tree it sat upon and the ground about it before returning his gaze upwards towards the branch. Offering a few words- "Can I help you?" through the song. [2/3]

The bird above stopped its cawing for a few moments and looked down to the druid quizzically. It canted its head to the side as it cawed again, but this time returning the question with some words of its own. "No! Too close to my tree! Shoo!" . This of course not being the response he would get surprised the druid. Though he followed their wishes and would continue on his way as originally intended, leaving the bird to its privacy. [3/3]

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    (Powersharing T3)

Nedai would guide his student into the forest, gesturing for them to take a seat on a nearby rock as he prepared to instruct. "You may notice how tiring it is to use these gifts we are bestowed yes? ". He shifted to take a seat in front of the other upon a toppled tree. "Luckily we are able to share our energy with other druids to help ah-" he took a moment to think of the correct words. "Stave off the exhaustion one might face when casting. If you would please connect-" he instructed his peer.

The 'ker would continue to explain as the student began to connect. "I find that usually this ability works best when others are doing a large amount of the work, this allows us to help too."  he paused to take a sip of water from his water skin. "However, when we share we cannot do anything else. All of our focus and energy is being poured into another to either comfort them from exhaustion they've already encountered, or to help ease the weight of heavy casting that is happening in that moment." he hummed out as he peered upon the student. "But in this moment, I would like for you to focus on the energies you feel now- and let it sit. Let it build up and circulate through your system."

Nedai folded one leg over the other, keeping their posture upright as their student built up those natural energies. "Now once you feel as if you have built up enough, I want you to send it towards me. Now even though I'm not exhausted, it'll still feel nice. Like a uh- pick me up?"

As those energies flooded towards the 'ker he offered a few nods of approval. His form seemed to relax some from the former stiff posture he exuded. "Very good- now when you use this ability, please note that you can not do this forever. The longer you give, the more you'll exhaust yourself. So share your energies in moderation as to not cripple yourself on the field."

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

If a student powergames I will tell them what they are doing wrong and how to possibly fix such behaviors. If they persist then id inform the proper staff and have them stricken from the application.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

Automatons are created by animii tinkerers once they reach their peak in creation. They can come in all shapes and sizes, but they all must be descendant like in stature, and bipedal. They are made from non-living materials, mostly metals. Their insides are very complex systems of tubing to resemble arteries, along with gears and cogs to help with other functionality. A gear-heart sits in its center acting as the heart of the creation, such is the most important part of the automaton. It is also the most fragile part of the construct and should it break- the automaton would cease to function until repaired. If unrepairable, it can be replaced with the caveat being that its memory would practically be wiped completely, starting them over from scratch. Their senses are given via modules installed by their creators, giving them a range of things such as sight and hearing. Should a creator wish, they can put an obedience chip in their creation- causing them to be unable to go against their creator. Such is done by putting 20 milliliters of the creators blood into the automatons own source of lifeblood. Their plates cannot be too dense or else movement would be very difficult- but the plates would take at least three swings from a blunt weapon or four jabs with a blade to get through its natural plating. Automatons are also capable of overclocking their systems in dire circumstances. Doing so is very taxing on the constructs body- Minor overclocking allows a 25% increase in strength and an extra block of movement for over four emotes. While major overclocking increases such by 50% but only for two emotes. After a minor overclocking, the construct will only be able to preform half as well, while after a major overclocking they become inert for the remainder of the encounter.

If this construct or creature has some form of aesthetic choice, can you describe how they look?

This one in particular would stand at 6'4 with a bird like face. Its descendant shaped body sported decorative wings on the back that had no function. Lightforged portions of its chest-plate caused it to have some blue glowing accents to match its eyes.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Animatii Crafting

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Animatti - or Clockwork Artifice is a Further Alchemy that uses tubes, metal and gears to create artificial constructs like automaton characters, prosthetics, and companions. Despite being made of metal, their interior ‘organs’ with intricate ‘veins’ and gears are vital to their survival and can be easily destroyed should enough force be used. Lifeblood acts like ‘blood’ in its name, and unlike the real kind, it does not coagulate while it runs through tubing, or a machine’s ‘veins’. A Gear Heart pumps the Lifeblood through the machine to ensure it’s operations - a blunt blow or several may easily break the organ and cause the machine to shut down. Should an Automaton bleed out, they are subjected to normal death clauses, however their memory and personality may be salvaged should the heart be taken and repaired back to its original state. Due to the metal makeup of the items, they require timely repair and check up to keep it clean of grime and rust.

When dealing with strenuous activities, an automaton may ‘Overclock’ to varying degrees, like an adrenaline boost.. If entering lesser Overclocking, they can only maintain such for [4] emotes without killing themselves, but can move an extra block per movement. Major Overlocking is when an automaton may move an extra [2] blocks, however they can only maintain this for [2] emotes without dying. Entering this stage can easily cause internal damage like tubes bursting or broken cogs, likely requiring repair after such.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

Animatti can be broken down in a general five-tier list, which goes as follows:

1st tier: This includes prosthetics such as limbs, eyes, lungs etc. They can be fitted to a specific person in need of said prosthetic and do not have their own sentience - this tier also encompasses inventions up to the size of a prosthetic arm.

2nd tier: This includes small creations about the size of a backpack, such as various animals. Automaton creations of this tier have some level of sentience to do simple tasks and cannot be used in combat.

3rd tier: This includes creations no bigger than the size of a golden retriever. These creations can be used as pets and cannot be used to change one’s own body. They can, however, be used in combat to certain degrees and must follow their respective redlines - they may bleed out after five emotes as they do not have the means to stop their own lifeblood.

4th tier: This includes creations that can be made humanoid but non-combative, such as a butler, or a shop keep. They cannot be used for meta, or relaying information the creation does not know, and abide by normal pet or mount CRP redlines. Horses are a part of this tier, and also follow mount redlines.

5th tier: This includes creations that can be played by Players, such as an Automaton / Machine Spirit CA.

There are [3] different subsections of creation - Innovation, Automatons, and Machine Spirits.

Innovation bears further parts to it, such as Prosthetics, Inventions, and Servants & Pets.

Prosthetics covers any reconstructed limb made out of cogs and gears that require the knowledge of Animatii to create. They require a smaller Geart Heart within themselves to maintain operation, and various tubes and parts compromise the ‘muscle’ and ‘nervous system' of such. They are typically a little stronger than a regular limb due to the metallic composition, however lack any sense of touch aside from pressure due to the lack of nerves. They may have small upgrades, such as empty spaces to store objects in, or even a hidden blade. They may be used to replace any missing limb, the eyes, lungs and vocal chords however they cannot replace any organs considered ‘vital’.

Inventions are mostly flavour and aesthetic RP items, typically used for simpler purposes and flavour RP. They cannot be used combatively and or weaponized unless written into a MArt - one must be mindful of their creation lest it breaks tech-lock.

Servants & Pets are self-explanatory where the alchemist can create various animals out of metal for different purposes. They can only be about the size of the Golden Retriever or less, but mostly retain a freeform design - spiders that aid in the help of sewing, or perhaps bees with a syringe for a stinger. They all abide by the combative rules in regards to pets. Servants may be smaller humanoid automatons or walking furniture, that serve merely as flavourful rp and cannot be used in combat.

Automatons are a playable CA made out of metal and tubing. An Automaton must have a Gear Heart to function with the pumping of their Lifeblood aided with various tubes running through their body. They typically bear a humanoid shape and just like a descendent, they can easily perish should they sustain too much damage. Due to the non-coagulating quality of Lifeblood, they are extremely susceptible to bleeding out. They also bear ‘organs’, labelled as Modules in this case, composed of the Intelligence, Visual, Audio and Voice modules, which allow the automaton to process thoughts, see, hear and speak etc.

Machine Spirits are an IRP way to circumvent death, similar to Kloning. Should the intended die, their soul may be redirected from the soulstream into a body of metal and gears instead. In order to achieve this, a Gear Heart of gold must be created and about 100ml of the to-be Machine Spirit’s blood is added into the Lifeblood to act as an identifier for the soul - placed all into the body of a standard Automaton. Should the Machine Spirit’s metal body perish and not have another as a back-up, they will be forced to PK.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    [Gearheart]

[!] Descending into his lab, the ‘ker was seen carrying a toolbox of various wretches and bolts - setting it down on a table with various metal plates and nuts strewn about. Grabbing several small sheets of metal, he began to weld and connect them together carefully, bending and assembling them into the vague shape of an organ.

[!] Once the outer casing was complete, Nedai grabbed a small jar of red-dusted cogs - metal pieces infused with redstone. Using a tweezer, he’d carefully insert them into the casing, alongside inserting various tubes, gears and springs - looping and weaving them in and out of the so-called heart. Several tubes stick out of affixed holes, to be connected to a large creation’s system as the springs are set into place against the red cogs to help them spin and generate energy.

[!] He continues to weld and screw on a lid to the front of the heart, with a setting for some sort of jewel on the front of it. Turning from his creation, he procures a small jar of glittering faceted stones - unscrewing the jar and using tweezers to pick up a small diamond. The elf carefully places it into the setting and fastens it all in place, ensuring that the jewel does not fall out. After a moment, the cogs and gears within began to whirr and spin against the springs, generating enough energy for the metal heart to begin moving, beating to its own rhythm.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    [Lifeblood]

[!] Nedai headed down into his lab, teeming with fire, boiling liquids, jars of plants and odd regents - motioning his student down into the lab with him. “We’re going to start with the basics, alright? The fundamentals of machinery and automaton creation.” He hummed, rounding the table and grabbing a large pint-like jar, clean and empty. “Automatons are just like us, in the sense that they require organs, a heart and blood to function. Of course, they aren’t made of flesh like us, so we have to make all of their vital parts artificially, through alchemy. I’m going to teach you how to make the blood part first, which will run through whatever you create and keep it alive.”

[!] With the student now at the table with the ‘ker, he procured smaller jars, sliding them over to his student. They were labelled as Connection, Life, Strength, Growth, Grace, Order, Balance and Endurance. He rummaged around further before offering forth a tub of charcoal, “These will be your ingredients.” He turned to grab the empty jar now, turning around to fill it with water. “This is what we call Lifeblood. It’s very straightforward, it is the blood that gives our automations life. Unlike our own blood, this doesn’t coagulate - it’ll be dangerous if one of your creations gets cut, as they can end up bleeding out.”

[!] “Now, I want you to mix some of that charcoal with this tub of water,” he turns back and gingerly places the large jar back onto the table. “And add Connection x3, Life x3, Growth x2, Strength x1, Balance x2, Endurance x3, Grace x2, and Order x3. I want you to stir it until all of it is mixed together - it should theoretically turn into this oily green substance.” He pushes for a scale for measuring, gloves for protection and a glass rod to the mixing process/

[!] Nedai steps back then, allowing the student to unscrew the jars to count their signs. Once the alchemical signs are counted and added into the mixture with the charcoal, the concoction is stirred - slowly turning a bright green colour. Once the liquid is settled and everything is properly mixed together, Nedai turns to grab more metal parts, as well as a toolbox filled to the brim with different wretched and welding equipment. “Perfect. Now, let’s start on making some parts that’ll allow the blood to flow. Keep the gloves on, you’ll need it.”

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

By reminding them the correct and proper limitations of the MA in order to not make those mistakes again. If the powergaming persists itd be forwarded to the appropriate staff team and taken off the TA as well.

part of me is disappointed we don't have impromptu ET events anymore.

I would like to add to this point. When I first joined this server, one of my first ever experiences within Almaris was an impromptu event that had occurred while me and my friends were exploring this grand world that was built for the sake of roleplay. I believe that spontaneous interactions could be good for not only the over arching story that staff have planed for Aevos, but for the sole player to actually progress in unique ways outside of cultural roleplay or roleplay within closed off city walls. I believe it was either almightysaucer who actually lead an impromptu event in the ruins of Lucinsberg back in my earlier days. This event was something my character talked about extensively for decades to come.

I will not speak much on the topic of raids or pvp, because im not anywhere close to that scene. However, I do believe Alexa brings up some valid points. I feel like giving an hour heads up for raids with raid tools would benefit both parties.

What magic(s) will you be teaching?

             Sorvian Sculpting

Describe this magic or a creature as a whole:

Sorvian Crafting is a feat that enables any descendent that bears a soul to become Crafter - utilizing clay, wood and most importantly a mask, to create Sorvian Husks and Newts which are playable CAs.

These Sorvians may be humanoid in nature and they are brought to life by the Crafter taking a portion of their soul and imbuing it into their creation. Doing such is incredibly taxing, leaving the Crafter to only be able to make a maximum of 3 Sorvians within 3 months. That soul is then held within the Sorvian with an incantation of blood inscribed upon the back of the mask. The Crafter may also make miniature Sorvians called Newts, for the sake of aesthetic items for background rp. These may be used as Player CAs, but will count to the total 3 Sorvians per 3 months. The mask may never be removed from a Sorvian unless in the case of death.

Sorvian Crafters also bear the ability to repair any broken Sorvian - should they have lost a limb, an incantation must be written upon the connection point before reattaching it back to the body. Any wounds a Sorvian may be patched with a mixture of wet clay and the Sorvian’s blood. Sorvians may only be killed by a punctured chest, which leads to soul essence leakage and their eventual demise, decapitation and the destruction of their mask. Dead Sorvians may be revived in different ways: the first is to recover the dead Sorvian’s mask and must be placed upon a maskless husk, which causes the Sorvian to reawaken during the ritual whilst twisting the husk to become like the Sorvian’s last body. Should the mask be destroyed instead, a Crafter will have to recreate the mask before pressing it onto a fresh husk - a Crafter may revive as many Sorvians as they need to as it does not count towards their maximum, however they may only revive one every OOC day.

The Sorvian itself lacks any way to make facial expression due to the rigidity of its mask, and while its body is flesh, it is still considered weaker than a descendent - however they bear the advantage of not being able to bleed, and having a rather high pain tolerance. While they may have an innate sense of respect for their ‘creator’, they are not inherently bound to them - rather all Sorvians seem to be compelled to wander and learn about mortals, and their ideologies for they may never be truly amongst them. When a Sorvian truly connects and takes an ideology into its own, it obsesses over the fact and devotes themselves entirely to such despite whatever harm might come to it. Should their original creator lose contact with them or perish, the Sorvian will not be compelled to seek out a new one, rather continue to wander and pursue their own desires.

Are there different sections or subsections of magic? Can those be elaborated upon?

There are THREE different types of Sorvians that may be made: A full-body Sorvian (Player CA) that ranges between 3-6 ft tall that often have humanoid forms with some room for aesthetic adjustments such as extra arms at the cost of halving their strength, a Sorvian Newt (Player CA), who’re about 2-3 ft tall and bear the proportions of a halfling, and the unplayable Sorvian Newt that are 1-2 ft tall and cannot be used in combat.

Can you give an example of a casting emote, of a spell of your choice?

    [Incanting]

[!] Pulling a mask upon the shelf, the owl-faced Sorvian picked up a quill and pulled down a bottle of strange red vicious blood - clearly not of his own. With the adjustment of the glove, the quill is then dipped into the ichor - coating the tip and flipping the mask onto its front.

[!] It takes a moment for the runes and markings to come to the Sorvian, but his hand deftly moves along the back of the porcelain mask - inscribing it with unknown symbols. As the pen stops writing and the incantation is finished, the thing staggers some as some form of weakness overtook his legs.

Can you give an example of a teaching-emote (interacting with another) of a spell of your choice?

    [Awakenning]

[!] Once the student had scrawled symbols on the back of the mask with their ichor, Ibar moved over to a figure covered with a sheet, lightly pulling it off its form to reveal what was beneath. “You simply just press the mask to its face.” the construct instructed. Stepping out of the way to make room for the student to work.

[!] The student shifted to the side of the workshop table with slowed steps. Pressing the mask to the face of the husk, a wave of pale blue light emitted from where it made contact. Sealing the mask to the face of the construct. Soon the whole form would be encapsulated with that same blue aura, granting the husk life and intellect. The student tiredly leaned over the table as the toll set it, beads of sweat dripped from his brow.

[!] After a few long moments, the aura seemed to fade. The once husk made of clay and wood sat up and took in the world for the first time.

Say your student powergames during or after teaching, how do you reprimand that?

I ask them to re-emote correctly, and I properly teach them how to avoid powergaming creation emotes in the future. If they persist, I would ask that they are taken off my TA.

Moments would pass before he would sigh out a "So much for finishing those lessons..." He then stood with the paper in hand, and as he walked past the fire he discarded it- letting it become floating embers in the night sky.
