Born in the family farms of Li-Guo, Tianrui Da Xia grew up hearing tales of her older cousin’s exploits in the west in letters from her half-sister Meixing. Tales of daring holdouts against the Voidal incursion at Curon, their service training militia forces in Rosenyr and Talon’s Port, and defence against the pirate hordes in Yong Ping. These stories filling her head, she often found herself powering through the dull work of farming and balancing ledgers to rush to the training grounds. Despite long days in the fields, rigorous sparring and drills until her mother called her home for dinner always felt like a reward. Every strike against a wooden pillar, she imagines a pirate or a voidal horror in its place.
Having finally come of age, Da Xia sets her eyes westward to join her family overseas in their daring adventures. Surely, even merchants must need a sword at hand, and her sister needs to stop getting kidnapped.
