Dory was born in the human empire of Oren to a family of merchants. His dad lived a relatively comfortable lifestyle due to his connection to aristocrats in the Orenian capital of Providence. However, one day after refusing service to a strange-looking man who was only offering to pay half of an item's price, his father was blacklisted from most cities. Dory's family was forced to move to a rural village on the outskirts of the Orenian empire. When the Aster Rebellion broke out, Dory decided it could be safe for him to move back to a big Orenian city. He figured he had grown up and enough time had passed to make a return. After all, Dory loved cities because they embodied the ideals of a knight which he strived to be. He could imagine himself riding down the city streets on a horse with a lance, keeping guard. After successfully buying a house, Dory lived his years in relative peace. However, he started becoming bored of city life and wanted to ride out for an adventure, like a true knight would. In an impulse decision, Dory sold his house and left the city, wandering the world for a new adventure.
