Solvleck the Lonely Traveler was born in a small town in the Kingdom of Norland. His mother, a once-wealthy woman running from her own problems, died in childbirth, and his father was not aware of his existence. He was raised by the few homeless in town, learning to beg for food from the rich. His only true friend, Merikyr, was his main teacher in begging, helping him learn how to survive. Though he did not starve, the snooty attitude of the rich made him bitter, even to middle-age. However, when the rich began to struggle themselves, unable to spare any scraps for a teenage "peasant-boy", Solvleck was forced to hunt for his own. When he found skill in scavenging, he decided to venture out on his own, leaving his old friend, Merikyr, to wonder what happened to him. Thus, he has spent more than 20 years traveling in the forests of the region, occasionally venturing into nearby cities to trade his animal hides for coin. His harsh, lonely life has made him sympathetic only the poorest of the poor, only able to suffer the well-off for the reward of money. Due to his upbringing, he is unlearned in reading and not knowledgable regarding faiths.
