Despite often being mistaken for a Northlander, Bjørn comes from a little town in the far far north called Drængalande, which is why Bjørn often refers to himself as a Drængar.
He therefore is part of the Farfolk that came into the Land of Almaris.
His father being a Smith, Bjørn learned the art of smithery in his very early years. After his father died at the time when Bjørn was 17 years old, Bjørn decided to take over his fathers forge to keep his legacy alive.
By the time Bjørn turned 26, his mother died to an unknown disease that took her away in her sleep. Bjørn took over the house and soon found love in the form of Sif, the daughter of the town's fisherman, who always got his hooks at the smithery.
About 7 years later, Bjørn was working in his forging shop as he heard the sound of horns being blown. As the first lit arrows hit the ground and the roofs of the houses. Soon after, he saw the soldiers of his tribe running by, weapon in hand while the sky turned grey and red as the air filled with smoke from the burning buildings. Never being into any kind of conflict with other clans, his tribe got completely ambushed by the attack and soon the soldiers got beaten by the enemy forces. Bjørn grabbed his axe and went running for his wife just to find her dead on the ground in front of their house. Her chest was pierced by arrows and her clothes were burned into her flesh. Bjørn kneeled down as suddenly her arm began twitching. Bjørn had hope that she hasn't died yet but as he went on to check on her, she rushed up and attacked him, striking his face and make him lose eyesight on his left eye. He was able to overcome her strength and throw her off. He then looked around and got frightened. All the dead soldiers were rising again and attacking their former friends and family. Not being able to fight them, Bjørn fled into a boat with a few other survivors.
They went to sail for at least month, with only some rations left as they couldn't prepare themselves. Bjørn was lucky to be one of the few survivors of the boat ride, as some people were too injured or just didn't survive due to illness and hunger. He set foot on the land of Almaris and decided to make a new living in the kingdom of Norland.
But the nightmares of the day he lost everything keep coming up every night...and his scar keeps the memory alive during the day.
