I was born in an old village up in the mountains which overlooked a beautiful river. It was me, my sister (Lila), and my mother and father. At first our lives were normal, but that was before our mother perished in an fire. Our father was devastated and the anger in him was to much for him to control. He started beating me and my sister until one day, I had had enough. As the darkness fell over the village I took the small amount of belongings I had and started heading to the door. As I looked behind me I saw my sifter laying in the couch I couldn't leave her. If I left her here. My father would take out all his anger on her... She would die. I slow went over to hear and woke her up ''hey Lila, we are leaving okay?''. I took her hand and started walking with her too the door before she had said a word. I knew she was as desperate to get out of here as me. As I opened the heavy tree door the cold air hit me and my sister. It was freezing. Just as Lila would take the first step into the cold winter night my fathers old, cold voice said something behind me. ''Where do you think your going'' he asked looking at us. I was only 15 at this point and Lila only 12. I was terrified of my father. I pulled myself together an told him in a farm voice ''we are leaving''. He stood there looking shocked that I had said that before saying ''no you are not'' in a voice that made me shake, although it could have been the wind that was blowing on my back from the still opened door. As father came closer I started looking around the room for something to defend myself with. I found a shoe horn and jabbed him across the face with it. ''RUN LILA'' I said while taking her hand and running out of the house. Our father was not far behind how ever. As we started running down to the lake. All three had it hard navigating but at last me and Lila were down at the lake although we could hear from the screams of my father that we was near. The lake had a strong stream and if we fell down then there would be a slim chance of survival if even that. ''We got to get to the other side Lila'' I said to my sister while holding her arms as tights as I could. ''I'm sacred'' she uttered with a voice that sounded like it was about to break. Some how not me or my sister had seen that our father who now just stood a few feet away from us. ''There is no escape now boy'' he had said to me. I started walking backward. I only stopped when I realized that walking any further would lead to me ending up in the river. My father were quick to take my by my shirt and hold be up over the rive as my sister screamed for him to stop. ''Its over now boy, you will die...'' he said to me before thought me into the river. It was all like a movie. It was like it all happened in slow motion. I can never forget the feeling as my body went into the cold river trying to not be pushed further down in the water. I tried to get up over and over again but I just couldn't. Then only thing I could do was hear. Hear my sister screaming voice before... she got all quiet. One second it was like she screamed as loud as she possible could but thee next, complete silence. Just as she went silence I inhaled a large amount of father and passed out. After that I only have short memorised of a log, a beach and a old man carried me up a big hill before reaching his tower. His name was Dutch and he was old.. very old he told me that I was almost dead when he found me on the shore. I told him were I was and he told me in a very happy voice ''You are in Sutica my friend''. I didn't realise it then but that tower would be my new home and after dutched passing it would be mine and only mine. I was now a citizen of Sutica.
