Zolum's parents were traveling peasants hiding within convoys for free travel, they would eventually have Zolum as their son and they needed to give him away as his cries as a baby would alert guards to their hiding spots. He would be dropped off at the Sultanate where he would be raised in an orphanage alone as a singular dark elf child in a world surrounded by farfolk, starting of Zolum believed himself to be human but he would soon realize he was wrong as the bullying began, he was tormented so terribly that Zolum would clip his ears to better fit into the humans around him.
The torment that he endured would eventually shape him into the young adult he was now, Zolum would have spouts of anger and would take it out on everything around him. He would have to switch schools as he would get into fights regularly, but when he wasn't causing trouble Zolum would read and teach himself more as he would be very intelligent growing up. As he entered adulthood Zolum would commit small muggings in the alleys of the Sultanate and generally worsened his life thereon.
Zolum would eventually meet other dark elves and realize how skewed his worldview is as he was raised human, he would outlive them all, and he would realize that farfolk had ruined his childhood that was meant to be cherished but now it was tarnished. Now he seeks to become a mage and finally become powerful enough to take revenge and be on top. He now heads north toward the druidic order to seek out a new teacher for him to study fire evocation under so that he may go down in history by any means possible.
