Owen Stone was born and raised in Freeport. His father and brother were the only family he knew, as his mom had passed away from an illness shortly after his birth. His dad was a simple carpenter, and supported the family by selling his wares among the marketplace. As money became tight one year, near Owen's tenth birthday, his father declared that he would board a vessel and expand his business temporarily. He left Owen and his older brother, Holten, at home, instructing Holten to take care of Owen. He left them enough money to provide for their needs while he was away, but as a few months expectation became two years, they had both realized that their father would not be returning. Sooner than later, their provisions money became Holten's beer money. At night he would be at the closest tavern, and at day he would sleep away his sorrows. Owen was left to take up the trades of carpentry and blacksmithing, attempting to follow after his father and make a name for himself. By the age of eighteen, he had earned enough money to purchase a ticket out of Freeport and provide for himself. By then, Holten was a lost cause. He was almost never around the house anymore, so one early morning, Owen packed a satchel and boarded one of the many vessels in the docks. He knew not of my final destination, but he smiled, knowing that fate would guide him to prosperity.
