Vanya Theneiros was born into a middle-class family in Caras Sylvadrim, the capital city of Aegrothond, the only child of a soldier and clothing manufacturer. Vanya noticed how her father would boss her mother around and though she loved her father, she vowed to never let a man boss her around like that. She always had an interest in combat and military affairs, which her father generously taught her all about because he was a soldier himself although her mother did not approve of these lessons. Life was well for Vanya till the Elven Cold War hit and her father had to leave therefore she had to join her mother in the shop to earn some money which she despised. Her father was gone for months which was hard on her because she loved her father dearly but one day, they got a letter informing her and her mother that her father had died in combat, she also received her father's cape as a sentiment. Overcome with grief, the shop went downhill, and her mother fell ill so Vanya had to pull herself together and take over the shop but quickly lost business due to her not having her mother's skill. Her mother's health declined quickly, and she soon passed leaving Anya alone with a house she could not pay for and so much grief so she packed up everything she could carry and moved to the Holy Orenian Empire for a better life.
