Born in a small town of no major importance in Oren, Vorien Astarral was the second oldest son of a family of eight. While the rest of the family worked their share to put food on the table, our character put food on the table by farming in a small, hidden garden that was set up on the outskirts. Although many questions were raised, nobody truly questioned because in the end, food was food, and the town wasn't close enough to any major settlements to barter.
Unfortunately, at eight years old, the War of the Wigs began. While all the main battles were luckily far from the village, Vorien was unfortunate to put his garden close to Jarad's Tavern. And in a series of unfortunate events, he decided to show two of his closest friends the garden on the day of the battle. The battle started, and it ended as fast as it began in the perception of the three young children, but a rogue Dwarven soldier saw the children, and in rage, decided to attack.
From this, we know from Vorien himself. This is all he will, or can, tell. The rest is up to speculation, as he's refused to give the name of his town, friends, or anything else. Those close to him before he left barely even managed to figure out his garden was near Jarad's Tavern, because he never bothered to learn the names of the buildings nearby.
Now, he just wants to hopefully forget his past and start a new life.
