Nithalya Ramóna was born to Elena Ramóna and an unknown father who was absent even at the time of Nithalya’s birth. Elena and the young Nithalya were serfs obliged to a Savoyard lord, with Elena managing to salvage money through the practice of herbal medicine, a skill she learned from Nithalya’s grandmother that allowed Elena to utilize the natural healing power of nature and re-purpose it into a multitude of mixtures and remedies. She provided her services to other servants and laborers that needed treatment the most, which was something Nithalya deeply admired at her young age. It was this admiration of her mother’s kindness that lead Nithalya to ask her about her practices and doings, only for Elena to tell her that she wasn’t ready yet. Elena then revealed to Nithalya her possession of several journals containing knowledge of herbs and natural medicines passed on from generation to generation in her family. Elena told the young Nithalya that she would only have this journal the day Elena died and that Nithalya must promise to use it to continue her lineage’s work as well as add to its contents. Eventually, the time came, and San Luciano was attacked and eventually destroyed. Elena sacrificed her life to ensure that the young Nithalya safely fled into the wilderness, since they were both unable to reach and regroup with the other survivors. Nithalya was given Elena’s journals as well as food rations to aid her in her survival before being engulfed in the destruction of the capital city. The loss of her mother as well as the attack on her home traumatized the young Nithalya greatly, however she had her own survival to prioritize. She’d proceed to spend the rest of her life alone, dabbling in her lineage’s practices in herbal medicines and perfecting her craft, coupled with the occasional visits to Vienne to socialize and remain partially in touch with society. She’d even constructed a hut of her own in the vast forests for her privacy and comfort, still preferring to stay away from civilization in fear of being affected by another major attack. Nithalya enjoyed the peacefulness of her life, even providing her services and medicine to any rare wanderers or travelers kind enough to gain her trust. Nithalya’s services and treatments for them have remained a secret, and she continues to serve anyone who may need her ailments if they encounter her.
