Gaznag grew up in a house of seven - his parents birthed many children in the hopes that they would grow up to provide their parents with financial security. His early life was brutal - surrounded by other hungry orcs, several of his siblings died of starvation reinforcing his fear of being without basic resources. As he grew older, he witnessed what orcs had to experience outside of their own race - animosity based on their outward experience was common. Gaznag traveled with a band of orc merchants as a way to secure a living as a teenager, allowing him contact with other races. When he finally collected enough money to support his household and parents (who at that time were becoming frailer), he focused on learning how to fight. Despite his size, he was all too wary of what could happen to him on the backstreets of a trading town. His study of fighting and self defense eventually led him to great figures that he could draw inspiration from - he revered the strength and honor Krug displayed during his battle with the Iblees.
