Theogrund was born to two relatively unknown parents in Urguan, he lost them before he could really form memories of his parents. Mother passing during his birth and his father a few years later in a mining accident, he was left with little beyond their clans to pull him in and raise him; some of them viewing the boy as a bad luck charm, but never saying it to his face. Growing up and working in the mines was all that seemed to comfort him, even if it was the source of the emptiness in his heart. Day in and Day out, he'd go to work, come back with some of his work partners, getting drunk and spending his money on beer at the Ruined Runesmith Tavern. it was early in his mining career that the dwarf would experience his first lost as the sole survivor of a cave in. Stuck in a pocket for several days as they mined out the collapsed material carefully and dealt with the disorganization that came with a shuffling of government, he barely managed to pull through and survive. This wouldn't be the first unfortunate thing to happen to the pour soul as a simple bathroom break would save him from doom, the miners hitting a pocket of bad gas that reacted with the flames of their torches, detonating and killing his work crew. Several more mishaps and sheer coincidences had landed him the opinion of of a bad luck charm, leaving him to toil alone. One day, in his mid 50's, he'd come upon another dwarf, Hilden, stuck fumbling with flit and steel to get her torch functioning again. Assisting her, the duo would strike off well, both being orphans of the mines. Working like a well oiled machine, as a pair and for once in proper fashion, Theogrund felt happiness in his life. It wouldn't take long for the young dwarfs to start to fall for eachother. Twenty years of happy life, memories made daily, smiles and joy until a fateful day. While walking through the market, a nearby building undergoing some repair work had a chunk of stone fall from the jobsite, plunging hard and fast before striking her on the head. She'd be in a coma for a month before finally losing the fight. Despite praying to Anbella and begging for Dungrimm to not take her yet, that it wasn't her time, he couldn't hold onto the flame of his life. After her burial, he'd disappear into the mines for days even weeks at a time, silently picking, sometimes in the dark, glaring at the rocks around him and trying to vent his anger. That was until one day he swung his pick and didn't pick it back up. These were riches for the living, they celebrated their clans and history and family, but those who didn't have anyone to remember them by? those that would die a second death when he passed? No, he had to preserve these names. He walked out of the mines that day and swore to work towards ensuring the names of those that might die a second time don't suffer such a cruel fate. He'd start with Hilde, his love, but then start trying to find others...
