    Aurae places a candle down on the roots of the Wolsong tree. Having placed a placard for him earlier she'd stare at it.

     

    "We did not know each other. But, we were brother and sister in arms and duty. I will see to it that you are remembered with the accolades you deserve. I will see to it that you are honored."

     

    As she spoke to tended to the candle until its flame was as stalwart as he was in life.

    [!] This letter found itself in all the hands of Embered Paladins one way or another.

     

    In my months traveling I have been made aware, by pure luck I suppose. That you all have managed to lose the allies I and my Mal’onn worked hard on securing for you. Do you wish to lose? Does your single minded arrogance and hubris feel the weight of your actions yet? Will you realize your actions when Azdromoth has burned half the realm? 

     

    When the Silverblade speaking on behalf of the Sunlit Lord gave of us the Ultimatum; Unity or Blood. What did you all think that meant? Did you think it extended only to the borders of one Order? Ne, my comrades. It extends to the borders of all those that would see the Dark felled. 

     

    But you all cannot even Unify into a single Order. You all cannot work together. You all cannot even work together with allies made for a common fight. Truly your hubris knows no end. What would He say if He came down to our realm and saw how you all treat each other? Scheming to disconnect your fellow Embered based on evidence that you cannot prove. Acting higher than the descendants of the four brothers we swore to protect. I would not be surprised if He abandoned us again. Taking with him our Embers.

     

    When the Silverblade again came and bid us to Unify the world once more to fell Azdromoth. You all staggered and stumbled. It was only thanks to the work of a few that you had allies offer their support. I will be returning from my short pilgrimage on spreading His message and finding my Mal’onn to set you all right. For there will be no Order or realm for us to return to if this is not remedied.

     

    So I say, and will continue to say if it is not followed; Unify. Unify. Unify.

     

    We are not above descendants. We are below them. We are their protectors, and their guides. Our purpose is to keep them safe from the Dark so they can be free and act how they please. So His Order can be made manifest. But yet there will be none of His Order if you all continue to let arrogance and hubris grip at the heart of the Ember you have taken on. 

     

    You will either follow me into Light and Order. Or you will all sink and drown in Darkness. In a burned out husk of a realm with no one to protect and a Lord lost. Make your choice upon my return.



     

    Unity is our Salvation. Salvation is our Liturgy.

    [Apotheosis] Five Comets

    Aurae sat and cried at an ever-burning flower. Unaware of the new Keeper's made. Nor caring, for she thought, like her brother, that the Lord that Embered her soul did not care for her service. 

     

    Picking herself up, she'd turn to the flower once more. Giving it a final look over as she looked upon the Wolsong Tree. Then back down to her arms and hands. Emanating that same Emerald, grassy haze that she grew accustomed to over the century. In the light of the Morning Lord all she did was seen.

     

    "I do not ask to know the reasoning you take for your decisions. It is not my place as your knight. He gave himself to you heart and soul, forever in leal service to you. I understand, why, but..."  She let out a sigh. Lengthy and shaky. "But as bid to me as one of your wardens, and seekers. I will see your message and will be shared."

     

    She'd walk out of the chancery. Out of the Keep, out of the Urguani mountains. Who knew where she was going. Who knew if anyone would see her again.

     

    But she left, to find her brother.

     

    To spread Xan's message. 

     

    "I will carry the torch to lands unknown. If I return, I just hope. That the Sun hasn't set."

    Humble Request

    [!] This short note would find itself in the arms of every Embered paladin one way or another.

     

     

    To us, brothers and sisters in our vocation to Xan. It is high time we discuss an important matter. A matter that at the end of this long road will cast us in the shade of defeat if not remedied. I call upon all those with the fire of the Lion in their souls and those they are tempering to hold His flame to meet in our shared keep in four Elven days.  

     

    We are the bastions protecting the world.

     

    It is time that we reflect that.

    • Requires two Paladins to perform, as well as 1 Lightstone as a base cost. An additional Lightstone may be sacrificed to imbue a listed effect upon an individual. 
    • Without OOC consent, any marking/effect would only last an IRL week at the most, but with OOC consent may last indefinitely. If an individual later on decides they no longer wish to be affected by this ability after having consented, they may freely allow it to fade over 24 IRL hours.
    • Alternatively, the mark may be lifted or stripped by this ritual being performed for a second time upon an individual.
    • The tell imbued from this rite onto an individual would be freeform, so long as it is limited to the extent described in the ability itself - a single tell or marking. It would always be active. 
    • Blessing of Sunlight is a strictly aesthetic effect with no genuine combative application. Its offered resistance to the cold would not allow one to stride into an arctic climate unprepared, but it may make one feel warmer in the winter should they be adequately clothed. 
    • Lion’s Penance would not prevent anyone from fighting Paladins, would not make them kill themselves due to guilt, etc. "Sin" refers to actions that the marked individual would personally hold to be morally wrong or abhorrent.

    • Two Aesthetic choices may be given upon a paladin undertaking the ritual of Blessing of Sunlight. Though there must be a valid RP reason for the second aesthetic blessing. As a cultural ritual a valid reason would be a great achievement such as killing a darkspawn that poses a great threat; (an azdrazi, lich, darkstalker, etc.) Great feats of service: (Saving a person's life, severe injury in protecting descendants, providing great relief and aids in times of disasters.)

    As stated in the lore for Ritus Sol; "Equal parts blessing and bane, this sacrament is relatively benign in its make, being widely utilized for ordainments, cultural rites, and a myriad of other purposes."  

     

    As its purpose is supposed to be a culturally significant ritual to reflect ordainments and other important processes. I feel it would fit the lore and culture better to raise the cap from 1 to 2 aesthetic blessings. The redline I have proposed would reflect the importance of the aesthetic blessing as something that can not be handed out but earned in hard work and service as the lore implies it is intended to be.
