Tusks knows very little about where he actually came from. The closest thing he had to family was the Dark Sun Mercenary Company, a group of sellswords operating throughout Norland. The story goes that he was found abandoned in a dilapidated shack in the woods by one of the senior members of the company, who saw fit to raise him in order to secure a loyal brute and follower. So, the infant half orc was given the name "Tusks" and spent the next twenty three years of his life travelling with, training with, and fighting alongside the Dark Sun. Though they were small, the band of mercenaries saw fit to raise Tusks as their own, though he was frequently derided for his appearance and mannerisms. For as long as he could fight, Tusks was outfitted with whatever spare pieces of armor the Company saw fit to equip him with, with the exception of a well crafted helmet ensuring his face remains concealed as to not frighten any customers. Though he felt as though his comrades were as close as family, and there even were a few fellow orcs among them who shared his plight, Tusks grew to loathe the fact that he was only allowed to be seen as himself when a client desired to see the orcish oddity for themselves, or as a manner of intimidation. While Tusks had been thinking of taking some time to himself to try to reconnect with his orcish heritage, his plans were spurned to action during his company's tour of the Kingdom of Elysium. Tusks had been given the day off on his 18th Nameday, and was relaxing, unarmored, in the inn room he had rented for himself when one of the barmaids came upstairs to personally alert him that dinner was ready. The ensuing uproar and angry mob saw Tusks chased out of town with naught but his tunic, helmet, and spear. Now separated from the only family he's ever known, Tusks opted to set out towards orcish lands, in an attempt to discover his roots and extract revenge on the people who see him as an outcast.
