You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Example: (delete this)
"..." Joseph stares at the old hag with an unflinching gaze and says nothing and sits down.
The old hag seems unsurprised as if she has seen this in a vision. The old hag once again asks Joseph for his backstory and finally he says a few words.
"I'm Joseph Hailing from the Far west. I come in search of a lord or king to serve. My village was destroyed, my family lost. I was the last survivor." Joseph says coldly. "I was a miner 8 years back, recently I learned the sword to help defend my village, but it wasn't enough. Next time I will defend everyone. I'll train hard to become the best swordsman in this new kingdom. I'll use my skills with the sword and as a miner to gain fortune so that I can afford the best gear, I'll be prepared this time." Joseph says, it's clear he has some deep hidden regrets.
