You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Example: (delete this) “Though your face isn’t familiar to me, I’ll gladly share my tale, though it may bore you.” He grins confidently, an aura around him that tells the hag he is capable of handling himself, as she already knew. “I am Faye, of [city / town of the world] and I guard the town/city. I wasn’t always like that though, as a boy, my mother and father would often take me away in long work trips, and on one fateful night, we were attacked on our way. My mother lost her life protecting me, and I almost lost my eye…” He points to the scar over his right eye. ”But my father and I were alive, and that was what we needed to focus on. As I always say, the living nerd protecting, not the dead. Ever since I couldn’t protect my mother, I’ve devoted myself to protecting those like her, innocents. So I trained. While I may not be a legendary swordsman, I can hold my own and hold a shield for others. You’ll see many who’d tell you of their tale, on how they reached impossible height, but I haven’t.
