You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Example:
I take a seat at the table.
"Good evening. My name is Koba, I came from far all the way to this town because I've heard rumors... Rumors about a witch who can help me gain the power equal to a lion."
The old hag looks me up and down and frowns.
"So it is power you seek? May I ask why?"
Koba looks down and slams his fist onto the table.
"I... I..."
"I want to take revenge."
"I grew up in a small town and lived together with my parents and my little sister. We didn't have much money and where struggeling to get around but we still enjoyed life.
When I was 12 my father started teaching my how to fight. By the time I was 16 I was really skilled with a sword. My father was proud but he wasn't the only one who noticed.
There was an army that marched through our town. They observed my training with my father and figured they could use someone like me.
Without asking they just took me with them, it where too many of them to take on with the two of us.
I even screamd that I didn't want to go and that I had to stay to protect my family, but they didn't listen..."
"A year ago I went back to my town, finally done with my duties for the army that took me. But when I arrived... I..."
Koba starts to get emotional and a single tear falls down his cheek.
"I heard that my family was killed in a village-raid... If only I could have been there to protect them!"
"I see..." Says the old hag. "I shall grant you one wish."
