You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Ah, hello there. Gosh, it's been a while since I've had someone expecting me." Eloem sits, crossing his lanky legs over one another as he sits on the cushion. "I'll be honest, don't know who you were expecting but I am likely not them- however I can most certainly treat you to a story, albeit a short one." The ashen skinned dark elf scratched his head as he thought. Mud, broken sticks, and web fell from his hair as he did so. The miscellaneous junk that fell from his head garnered a disgusted reaction from the elf before he wiped his hand on his already stained tunic, breaking into a cheerful smile seconds later as he realized how that must have looked to the woman. "Apologies for the mud, lot's of running and tripping this lovely day. Being chased out by the family I worked as a nanny for, nearly-" he looked around before motioning to a slicing of his neck with a wavering of his smile. "-dying and whatnot. But.. nah it'll only bore you. I'll keep it short and even possibly entertaining- it was a story of love and tragedy. This woman from my village was in love with another, but she was already married you see. So when her husband found out- well let's say the woman has no more room for love in her dirt pit. However the one she loved was pinned for the blame, and the husband's got the town's guard searchin for him up and down the-" Eloem quickly rose to his feet as he heard howls and barking off in the distance. "I think I really must be going. I wasn't sure they'd still have the hounds on my trail. I thought perhaps I'd have a moment to rest, but alas." With a quick wave and a smile that hid his real emotions, the dark elf disappeared into the dimly lit night. He hadn't really let her have a moment to speak, mainly on the grounds that he didn't want to get caught on die, but now while thinking about how he'd be killed he could question who that old crone was and why she was supposedly expecting him.
