Noxen

Guido arrives at the barn to find the note pinned to the doorway.  He sits down to read it, and after taking ten minutes to understand it, he sighs: "Well, I guess'a it's time to go.  Seems I am cursed to work under men that end up betrayed..." He then stands up, quite out of breath from the feat, grumbling to himself, and enters the barn.  "Pack up, Carlo" he says, "We're leaving Napoliza paesan." To this, Carlo responds: "What'a!? But what about Emilio? I want to work more with the cows!" Guido picks up a bundle of wheat, and tells him "Si si, I'm'a sure we will be able to find work at another barn bambino."

Nine year old Carlo Biscotti stares up at the faint sliver of light streaming through the barred window. "I just'a wanted to see some cows and now I am trapped - marrona mia!" he says quietly to himself, fighting back against the tears that threatened to surface, as he notices the other prisoners watching him. 'I must appear strong - for the younger children.'  Carlo thinks to himself. 

Guido sits in the courtyard of Eulersburg, sharpening his sword after a bout of training. Meanwhile, clangs can be heard as other Turtle Guard members Zlatan and Vanderm practice their weapon skills.

Guido Divecchia and Vanderm Marwill sit in the quiet dawn of the Eulersburg guard tower, overlooking the valley below and listening to the birds sing.  They had just force fed a herd of cows for five hours throughout the night, but a fifteen minute break with an Euler Max prepares them for another six hours of cow breeding! Life in Eulersburg could not be better, perhaps for the exception of cattle!
