You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Well! Not exactly the nicest looking or smelling town I've ever been to... If it weren't for you I'd never even come here!" Pádraig exclaims with a loud and confident voice, possibly a tad too loud for most people. He moves himself over to the seat and makes himself comfortable before looking up to the person seated across from him. He bares a wide smile as he begins to speak again. "Please, forgive me! I don't mean to talk so poorly of your home of choice. It's been a long week trying to get back home again." Pádraig combs his fingers through his short beard and continues on speaking. "Well, my story? It's not a long or an eventful one but if you want to know it I will tell you..." "I come from a relatively small family, my Mother and my Pa both being Highlanders. Not exactly sure how or where they met but all through my childhood we lived in a small village in the snowy mountains, right near the border of the Norland Kingdom. Things weren't easy, the land wasn't great for growing any crops and we lived too far from any large game. Mostly survived on small rabbits and other animals that we could catch in traps and berries that'd grow and survive the harsh weather. Pa was a carpenter and so he taught me his craft as well, for most of my years I was only allowed to cut trees down and not much else. He always said that one day I'd become a 'great craftsman' and be able to work on building large ships and all of these crazy, crazy things I'd never even laid my eyes on... You wouldn't believe it but there's no need for ships up in the mountains! But I guess after all these years and all of my Pa's stories I can finally see things coming to light. It wasn't but a year or so ago that the village fell apart. Internal conflict and fighting between families as so often happens. We decided to finally move into the Norland Kingdom and found ourselves a more suitable place for a home. Moved right on the bank of a large river down in the forest, somewhere my Pa said that he and my Mother would be able to survive and sustain themselves better while he sends me out into the world to learn something other than snowy mountains and fighting our neighbours." Pádraig finally stops talking and rubs at his throat. "I think that's enough of my story for now... All of that talking has me thirsty! What do you have to drink?"
