You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) He entered the swampy, dim town with a sense of superiority and disdain for the lesser races that inhabited such squalid conditions. As he stepped into the tattered tent, the old hag's appearance was equally distasteful to him, but he could not deny her expertise in the arcane arts. The rotted wood and wet moss were repulsive to his senses, his hand over his face because of said pungent smells. He'd examine the innards of the tattered tent, his eyes meeting the old hag's gaze; Saelethil could feel her examining him with a mix of curiosity and suspicion, "quite a dingey little abode you have here," he'd say. The old hag brushed off his comment, as is normal for his race to come off as cold. He pulled his silk robe beneath him as he sat on the cushion. Reluctantly, Saelethil spoke of his intent and determination to study medicine in a high elven city, the old hag listening intently, nodding along and occasionally asking probing questions. He shared only the necessary details of his story, careful not to reveal too much. He knew that the old hag would not understand his ideals, but as a high elf, he is logical and pragmatic in his thinking, and knew that sometimes it was necessary to seek the aid of those who are beneath us in order to achieve our goals. As Saelethil rose to leave, he could sense the old hag's distrust and disdain for him, but paid it no mind. He knew that if he remained determined, he would reach Haelun'or to study medicine and acquire vast knowledge of healing magic so that he could carve a place for himself in noble high elf society.
