You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) I demount my bow and seat it on my lap whilst I make myself comfortable on the cushion. “I am a woman of little words so please don’t mind my silence every once in a while”, I say, inspecting my surrounding. As I sigh, I am considering just where to start but I come to a conclusion and tell the parts of my story, an outsider would consider to be interesting: “Almost 4 decades ago I have left my home and family to wander out into the far world to explore and to make a living for myself. For a few years now I am considering to settle down somewhere, maybe found a family and build myself a home but this thought seems physically so distant to me. I have acquired some skills in hunting and survival as well as how to make my way around other races as comfortably as possibly.” “Though I got to admit that I am certainly not match to most people in combat”, was what I thought but did not dare to give away. I have learned that revealing once weaknesses makes you vulnerable. I keep talking: “Anyways, I have received a letter from home, directing me to return within 3 full moons. A cousin of mine is getting married and I and my little brother are expected to attend. Actually, I have recently heard rumours about a dark elf traveling the lands which I assume to be my brother. He is 15 years younger than me and has also been traveling the world.” I stop for a short moment to think and pull out a letter out of my bag: “That reminds me, would you be able to give him this letter in case he passes through here? His name is Velril Sal’amar. A young looking dark elf; I assume you could not miss him if he happens to stop by.” I put some coins on the table as a reaction to the friendly nod. As I get up, I continue: “I will have to keep traveling before the morning sun rises again. I appreciate your hospitality.” I gear up again and leave without saying another word. As suspicious as this person appeared to me, I might have loosened up a bit after this.
