You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” Aria Galanodel settled onto the cushion, her emerald eyes locking onto the old hag's gaze. "I come from the ancient elven city of Talar'nor," she began, her voice steady and calm. "Born into the esteemed Galanodel family, I was raised with a deep reverence for nature and its delicate balance. As I grew, my bond with the forest deepened, and I embraced my elven heritage by honing my skills in archery. But it wasn't all tranquility. A dark shadow loomed over our lands—a relentless threat that sought to disturb the harmony of our realm. It was then that I took on the mantle of protector, vowing to defend my people and the natural world from those who sought to disrupt the balance we held dear." The old hag nodded, her wrinkled face showing traces of understanding. "And so, I ventured beyond the elven borders, seeking allies among different races, learning from their cultures and sharing our wisdom in return. Along my journey, I encountered various challenges—battles to protect the vulnerable, diplomatic efforts to bridge gaps between factions, and moments of solace in the wilderness where I could renew my spirit. I wandered through vast forests, crossed treacherous mountains, and now, fate has led me to this swampy town. My purpose remains unchanged—to bring unity and safeguard the natural world from the looming darkness that threatens to envelop us all." The old hag leaned back, her eyes twinkling with an ancient wisdom. "You carry the weight of your people and nature upon your shoulders, young Aria Galanodel. Your path will not be easy, but you have the spirit of a true guardian. Remember, the threads of fate are intricately woven, and your choices will ripple through the tapestry of existence. Now, rest for the night, for your journey has only just begun." With that, she gestured towards a corner where a simple cot lay, welcoming Aria to seek respite in the dimly lit tent, preparing her for the uncertain road ahead.
