You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?))
"You've been expecting me? Blair hestitates to answer, but then speaks as the old had commands "I hope this doesn't have anything to do with...". She sighs shamefully, then looks back up to the woman "Did my brother send you?" she then sighs again and continues "Well, I just needed a break, I had to get away and learn how to survive on my own. I'ts been tough, but it exites me, I cannot wait to meet new people and live a new life after my brother commited that crime. People judged me for sharing the same last name, so I changed it to Theodore." Blair said before talking about her past.
BLAIR'S PAST
Blair got reminded of her past, her criminal brother and the people surrounding her. They were angry about what her brother had done, as they should be... But the worst part of all, he might have done it for her.
When Blair and her twinbrother Jasper were born, her parents got some financial problems. Till the age of 10 they were raised by a nanny, so their parents could work. Sadly, one day they didn't return to their family home. Theodora, their nanny, stayed by their side. It didn't take long for Jasper to get into trouble, he was caught stealing bread a few times by the age of 14. They found out when Jasper left his bed in the middle of the night, and angry citizens were banging on their door. Blair spent her time in fear, afraid of not only the angry people, but also afraid of Jasper.
A little while after she turned 16, Jasper got violent. He came home covered in blood. The look on his face left an impression on Blair she cannot forget till this day. Instead of asking what happened, he slowly walked to his room and Blair was left traumatized in the hallway. She missed her mom and her dad, and as far as she knew there was no other family she could go to.
It was only a minute later the neighbor stormed in with a knife, and threathened Blair to turn in her brother.
Without a second thought, Blair agreed. She knew about his violent behavior and stepped out the door, traumatized and trembling she turned him in. Jasper had estranged from her and Theodora.
Praying Jasper wouldn't find out she was the one that turned him in, he got taken away from their home. Blair and Theodora stood in the doorframe, sobbing and clenching onto eachother.
They didn't know what would happen to him, but they both agreed they had to somehow vanish. Leave the world they knew so well, and find fortune elsewhere.
As they packed their stuff, Theodora said her last goodbyes to Blair. It was a very emotional goodbye, but young Blair understood they had to go separate ways.
To honour her nanny, the woman who has been like a second mother to her, raising her to be a young adult, curious about the outside world, Blair decided to use Theodore as her last name.
Untill now, she had never looked back.
