You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Barely as soon as the woman had finished speaking, Iris neatly drew his dagger and put it to the neck of his interlocutor. Holding it like that for half a second, he had time to look at the woman and her reaction - or rather lack of reaction. Sweat ran down him like a waterfall. After a moment, he lowered his blade and in a slightly concerned voice muttered "Who...? What...? Are you?" Not having heard the answer to his questions, he sat down on the indicated seat and began to tell his story: "I seem to have lost my way. I don't fit in here. This place... affects me badly... I apologise for my reaction." *looks deadly serious. Without any emotion* ("usually my blade doesn't stop at a time like this" - he thought). "Usually when someone waits for me, it's not to talk to me." *smiles lightly* "My name is Iris von Rasque, I am... I was a member of the thie... I mean the merchants guild! *lightly nods* Yeah! Merchant's guild!" *he added* ("I became weak and too open to people. Maybe I actually didn't fit into the Thieves Guild" - he thought) "Terrible things are happening in my old city. Some pseudo-defenders of justice appeared in the kingdom out of nowhere, who, like paladins, started to control the whole city as if it was their property. They threw out every guard I knew" ("All that was left were the law-abiding... there was no one left to bribe" - he thought) "...and searched every house. All my friends ended up in the dungeons and I was left alone... *shrugs his shoulders*" ("Actually, I gave them up to buy time" - he thought) "One night, when coming back from work I saw them searching my house I decided that it was too much, that I had to get out of here. So I hid out in the first better ship and that's how I ended up here. You don't need to know anything else. I don't really know why all this talk..." *last glance at the woman, gets up and heads towards the exit*. As he leaves the tent, he grabs a pouch lying next to his pillow. After moving away, he begins to examine its contents. A smile of naivety appears on his face when instead of coins, there are worms in it. He throws it on the grass next to him and continues on his way...
