You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Oh?" Magnolia lets out a short expression of surprise, "W-why would you be expecting me?" She asks, hesitantly taking a seat. "I am not really much of a story teller. . . I was just a little tired from travel and hoping to find a place to rest." With a quick glance outside at the darkening sky she continues. "You see, my previous home was destroyed. There was a fire and I am not going to try to say who may have done it, but I didn't quite feel safe there after that. I decided the best thing for me would be leaving." Her voice trails off briefly before returning in a quieter more timid tone. "My family wouldn't come with me. They all thought I was crazy for leaving, but I just knew that I couldn't stay there. Maybe I could find some rest with you people here? I am certainly willing to get things done and help out, I am not asking for pity or anything. . . Just a chance to start again." Magnolia watches the stranger closely, waiting for an answer.
