You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) "Pleasantries aside you have brought me here to do a job and I don't see how that'll help me complete it." After a long moment of silence with the old had staring into my eyes I relent. "Fine I'm a hunter of sorts, but no not of the mundane...I hunt creatures or people who have been corrupted by evil of one measure or another. My work isn't very rewarding too be honest most of the good jobs are handled by the hunters under the employee of nobility leaving only the poorer communities needing my services. Though I shouldn't complain too much I would kill the beast either way, so the payment is more of a bonus then and incentive. I hate anything tainted by any source of vile corruption, but do not worry there is not sad tragic story there. Just hate the nasty things." After another brief pause indicated the old hag wanted more out of me, I sighed and rushed through my next words in the hope of ending this unnecessary delay. "I've slowly been looking for a new city/town to settle into as either a base to continue my work out of or even consider a new line of work. This town is clearly marked off the last due to the smell so why don't we talk more about what you need killed and then maybe I can move on."
