First, great post. Like seriously, A+.

Second, I feel like the recent sarcastic demeanor from 501 didn't help at all. Namely, these three images. I know a lot of players were simply shocked at these responses.

Is this really how an admin should be acting in a PUBLIC chat over an issue as serious as pedophilia? Not at all. This was flat out rude, unprofessional, and childish.

Second, Knox accidentally leaked Annie's IP. Yes, you heard me, her IP was on the forums in a screenshot for a solid ten seconds before the posts were removed. Was it really an accident? Who knows, but I think it was considering he removed it as soon as possible, and even in this situation, I don't think he'd go as far as posting her IP on the forums. Then again, how did he manage to screenshot the convo, paste it, then post it on the forums without realizing? It just seems like he wasn't being observant or something, I don't know. SneakyTurtles could have been DDOSed or a bunch of other **** people can do. We have had criminals who've done this stuff before on LOTC. It's outrageous.

Third, yes, discord messages can easily be forged, but did you say that about all of the other players who have said toxic things via discord? No. Why would you say this about a pedophile though? Because they're a good player who 'has no ban history'? No. This is 501 being bias. End of story.

That's all I have to say, and it's just my view on how poorly things were handled.

    Cheers.

Recent? 501 has always been like that and actively dismisses the player base on the regular. Has for years. Did it last year during last year's outrage about a different pedophile. Rugswept, dismissed, laughed and ignored.

That being said its unfortunate another sheep has been thrown to the wolves to try and make amends because the administration knows all too well they've gone too far and that the playerbase, by and large, is not receptive to them or their explanations.

Those of you defending the current Administration and claiming no one is remembering the human: You're ignoring all the past, previous actions and behaviors. You're giving the Administration responsible for this whole mess a clean slate and acting as if they've never done anything previously. But the fact is it is not just one incident that riles the playerbase. It is a long string of incidents, a historical tapestry that can be traced back several years of repetitive cycles of abuse from administration towards the playerbase, constantly rug-swept issues that then repeat ad nauseaum.  Why must the playerbase forgive past incidents when all together, all of this viewed as one picture rather than separate red flags, paints an alarming picture of an Administration that has always and will always believe it is right, and that the playerbase is "less than" them, that the playerbase is always "stirring the pot" and "causing drama", which I am positive was their initial reaction to the pedophilia accusations, as it has been to pedophilia accusations in the past, meanwhile belittling and insulting those who dare speak up with passive-aggression both in public and in private staff chats?

  2. LOTC's ownership has a moral and ethical obligation to protect the children that it's community targets as it's main audience and to educate and encourage victims to report their abusers via appropriate methods depending on their region of address.

The "outcries" and "rage" would not be so much of an issue if LOTC did not have a lengthy history of rugsweeping accusations and employing individuals accused and/or proven to be making victims of children as volunteer staff members, without proper protocol in place for reporting and handling of issues.

The threads attempting to "silence" the outcry involving this serious issue are incredibly inappropriate given the circumstances and in many ways can and will discourage other victims from coming forward given that they will feel as if they are just "causing an outcry" and that they will not be believed and may be ostracized from the community for reporting.

Individuals in the United States of America who have been victims of online enticement for sexual acts of children, molestation of children, the sharing, possession, or manufacturing of child pornography, or unsolicited obscene material sent to a child (that is non-requested, or where the victim has been coerced into "allowing" it), or individuals aware of victims of the above or any other crimes involving children (under the age of 16) should file a report via https://report.cybertip.org , even if the abuser is located overseas or not in the United States.

The demands to cease the "rage" must stop as they will continue to discourage victims from coming forward and allow grooming of children for sexual acts to continue.

  3. The figure took a drag on the long-stemmed pipe as she sat slumped against the slanted trunk of a sleeping tree in the cold dead of a snowy night. The fire burned only embers now, blackened husks of wood reminiscent of places best forgotten and better yet never having known. If it hadn't been for the biting cold she wouldn't have birthed the damnedable flames to begin with to better avoid the shadows past that stalked her so.

The shadows had crept in through the night and cast themselves from the flame, the welcome and the unwelcome, the dead and the living, together and separate. Some begged her attention while to others she was the beggar, forgiveness and grace always lacking. Some were old, some were new, but none of them were real, which was a thing oft forgot by a well-addled mind.

There in the dying embers another shadow crept out from the snow, leaving behind no trace of it's coming in the untrodden landscape. This one was small; Not terribly short, not like Armin, but not fully grown, and emancipated, mere skin and bones, if even that. It had pointed ears and darkened skin, and robed itself in dancing ash from the dying fire. It did not speak nor could it have, for it's mouth was sewn shut.

She scoffed, coughing out a mouthful of heavily scented smoke before speaking, her voice harsh and raw. "Huh. Well. Been a while since I've dreamed a dream of you, cub." She narrowed her eyes as the ashen figure gave a meek grin and danced over, sinking down into the snow besides her. She could have, and ought have, ignored the shadow, but turned her head instead to get a better view. It was a gaunt little figure and she didn't need to be told of it's suffering, knowing well enough some of which it had bore.

"So, what are you hear for?" She asked the mute shadow, which tilted it's face towards her in response. Dead, glassy eyes faded into amethyst ones full of life, and faded back again. "Guilt me? Another reminder of another soul failed to save, lost to the fire?" The figure did not respond in any way. "Haunt me? Give me nightmares?" Again, it did not respond. "Or is this something stupid about forgiveness and redemption, some nonsensical churl about it not being my responsibility?" Again, nothing.

She turned her head away from it then, and towards the dying embers of the fire, frowning. "Damned puzzling things." She muttered and gave a sigh. "I still wonder if you did me that kindness on purpose, or if you even knew it a kindness. You were with them, fully, and I'd dug my own grave by not being careful enough with you; By trying to have faith in you and those like you." She drew her lips inwards, biting down on them. "Yet I can't find it in me to blame you. You had reasons for turning; I know some small pittance of them. You had faith in something. Few do." She glanced towards the figure briefly, finding it glancing at the dying embers as well.

"I met your father, you know." It looked towards her, quizzically almost, like a curious child. "Took a great degree of self-control not to take his eyes out with my thumbs when I figured out who he was. I ought to have. If you be mute let he be blind, I thought." She chuckled darkly. "Ah, but...Orithur wouldn't've liked that. Not for the man being his associate, no; Orithur it was clear did not care for many of those who thought him an ally. A man after my own heart. But because of the violence, you see. I think he thought I was better, above that, or some such nonsense. Not a broken thing trying on masks."

Surprisingly, the figure knelt it's head onto her shoulder. She went tensely still for a moment before relaxing. "Were it not for you I would have lost my mind. My fight. My soul. I thought there no redemption left. Nothing. He'd taken my friends, my allies, broken my spirit. Very nearly. Did you do it on purpose? Did you know? Was it a kindness, or were you simply jealous, seeing too much attention paid to me and not enough to yourself?" She chuckled once more. "Either way....thank you. I never did get to say that. Thank you."

The figure stayed as the last light of the embers died and the place grew dark. She slept after a time and awoke to the sun glaring in her eyes, the fire dead and the landscape covered in a thin blanket of fresh snow. She looked to her side and there was nothing there; not even an indention in the snow from a visiting shadow that never did exist in the first place.

Whoops, seems the formatting hid the RP purpose section, thank you for pointing out that it was missing. And these creatures have been part of the server for some time now (somewhere around a year) and I can assure you that people do interact with this creature, this isn't some new creature proposal. After we got hunted by Ascended and other holies, I've tried to make sure that the Izkuthii keep a low profile to prevent another incident like that occurring again. They're like frost witches or striga in that sense, they aren't meant to be waltzing around in their undisguised form.

No see, the fact they've been apart of the server is exactly my point. This is Vol 4. How has there been 0 heard of them in roleplay when this is vol 4 and they've been part of the server for so long?

I mean I'm not trying to brag but my character is the former Librarian of Dragur. I haven't been on much lately but she still manages to get told in character of every weird addition to the world whenever I do get on; lizard people (drago ppl), spider folk, strigae, frost witches, wraiths, whatever. Literally knows way too much ****. Oh and mana wraiths found out about those week 1

So what are these things adding in character besides an antag for holies? Who else has interacted with them? What do they do? What do they add to the server thats unique, that couldn't be done with already existing magic or creatures or whatever?

Getting rid of the antagonist either by a simple removal or patching together an ending is a step in the right direction and I'm glad the staff stepped in to do the right thing. A lot of people are blaming arockstar for the way the events were handled but pinning sole blame on one person when it was a collaboration of staff members is not only unhealthy, it's shameful. Arockstar did an excellent job of humanizing the Gazardiel fragments and genuinely kept me and my group invested until the reformation event.

I do need to make it clear what exactly has happened though. The Ascended did not request nor ever ask to be used so heavily in this eventline. My character personally was used as a sort of event mcguffin to such an extent that I, without knowing, was a crucial stepping stone in the event progress and this was done without my consent. By staff deciding to use the Ascended to such an extent in this eventline they've caused much of the playerbase to become hostile and project their negative opinions regarding the event directly unto us. Because the staff involved with this eventline failed to look ahead and predict the consequences of their actions they have tarnished the image of a group I have worked tirelessly to improve and rendered an entire real year of roleplay alliance building mute in a /single/ day. Some people will call this dynamic roleplay, some people will say we should have known better and kept away from the event. I saw a unique opportunity for our group to grow and give our members something enjoyable and productive to partake in, and our reward for it was total catastrophic failure.

Because of the staff's shortsighted actions the Holy League, a once large and powerful network of deity-based orders no longer exists and the balance of power on the server has shifted dramatically. Ascended are barred from most cities and some of our characters have lost homes and affiliations because of it. Worse still, players have quit the server or permakilled following these circumstances. With the eventline now being closed, the Ascended playerbase has lost any possible chance to redeem themselves and the repercussions of participating in this eventline will be felt for years to comes.

On behalf of the Ascended playerbase who have been shafted and wronged by the eventline and the staff involved I would like to request an official apology be made by the staff to our players.

You deserve no apology. Gazadriel's villainous history on lotc is well known, documented, and so overplayed as to be irritating to characters familiar with it. The Ascended should have listened to other groups (paladins), sought outside advice, and never helped anything that actively claimed to be a part of Gazadriel, the most well-known deceiving aengudaemon since Iblees. Should have tried to kill it instead.

Y'all instead were hoping to be heroes ICly at the least, and thus acted and chose poorly. You get no apology for the fact it didn't turn out like you wanted and, once again, THE DECEIVER, deceived a bunch of people, this time being your group. Dingdongs.

  6. Dragur wakes up and eats gaz for trying to destroy the sum of all knowledge and then goes back to sleep CMON MAKE IT HAPPEN YES jk dont nobody wants aengudaemon **** rn.

But seriously heres the proper steps to take (as opposed to retcon)

    1) recognize it was a bad event and story line

    2) recognize the reasons it failed

    3) understand why players didn't like it or want that type of event

    4) admit this was not the type of event the players wanted

    5) plan to adapt

    6) gaz and aengudaemon **** is no long desired; players want big stuff but at their own hands

    7) develop eventline that involves RANDOM EVERYDAY PLAYERS getting the chance to save the day

    8) have that happen

    9) have some sort of known consequence for that; (yall can save the world and yourselves from Gaz but it will kill this land (axios) in the process)

    10) world vs players eventline! Axios is dying as result of killing poopyhead

11)players (again random regular players) must find an escape from axios however.

    12) dat happens.

    13) New map

    14) don't let ski 501 or kowaman be involved in events or lore thanks
