  1. A few of you might not have gotten that this is a joke or "late april fools". Of course this is not a thing. We just got to 4.0, I for one am taking my sweet time exploring it and it's majesty. You should too. There's a lot to be explore, and adventure awaits you.

Also I would not expect any staff member to make such a statement or "leak" from Lotc.

  2. I'd like to see decent landscape that isn't just made of cliffs, or ugly mountains! Like valleys, plains, etc!

Right there with you! In fact, in all seriousness, me and a few friends are remodeling Aegis to make just that, something a little more up to par. Landscar fixing, etc.

  3. The time has finally come. Lotc 5.0 is finally in development! A reliable source shared this with me as well as this:

"...so as we've looped around the world, from Aegis, to Asulon, to Anthos, we've finally come full circle. We'll take advantage of parallel universes, bridging them, traveling to the Aegis that was not destroyed by the undead. This will open up for a large conflict in the main storyline, as an alternate Iblees can potentially be a threat to our universe." -Anonymous Lotc Staff Member

I'm no lore expert, but that sounds awesome to me! I speculate they're bringing back the Wandering Wizard Plugin (not sure if you guys are old school enough to remember that)!

What do you want to see in Lotc 5.0?

  4. It sounds like things will go relatively right this time around depending on how it's executed. How the regioning is done is how we wanted to do it in Anthos. Minimal pre-building is very important and I'm glad you're sticking to it this time. And having an antagonist is a good idea. A global threat everyone can see as superior will change the feel of the world all together. Losing the undead in Aegis gave Anthos the feel of "Well, what now?".

I hope it's pulled off right and if I have time, I'll be sure to stop in and provide any assistance I can.

  5. Oh boy! Hello there Alec, and yes we are! ^-^

Edit: Would you come back for us? Pweese? :)

Good! I've been thinking about it, but I don't think it's gonna happen. As soon as I get back into plugin development, I'll make some with Roleplay in mind, like RP Essentials 2. I just don't think I can find myself returning to the staff really. It's been made clear to me I don't fit there.

  6.  I can tell you that we learned our msitake of not pre-building to an extent. The first weeks of Asulon were completely boring because of the fact that all we had to do was build.

I was there. Maybe it was boring for you, or for many other people. But you didn't HAVE to build. You chose to build. Many of us hid out in tents fending off creatures. That's completely based off one's opinion.

My point is prebuilding is needed, but there is a point in which you go too far and build to such a high quality & quantity, you leave little room for improvement.

  7. I wouldn't ever go as far to tell a player he's not welcome here for saying something like that as you might hurt their feelings,

You wouldn't tell a player they're not welcome for disrespecting our devotion to the staff? That's not going far enough. If you're honestly bringing feelings into the matter, then forgive me. I almost forgot for a moment that we have no feelings. We are just machines. :P

In all seriousness, I know it's hard to respect staff at times. I had trouble with it myself especially about a year ago. When I saw GMs locked in their channels, I had this stereotypical idea that they were a bunch of snobs hanging around and playing poker, not getting any work done. GMs lock themselves in channels because: Yes. Contrary to popular belief, we do get stuff done, and it's not exactly the kind of fun you could ever really hope for. Other times, we use our teamspeak channels to talk casually and just hang out and have good fun. There is nothing wrong with that.

When we want to be social, we hang out with people our age. But we do not come seeking friendships with the players as much as they should (if they wish to) seek friendships with us. Players should respect the fact that, regardless of us actually being busy or not, we seek friendships or socialization as a regular player would. It just depends on the staff member. We sure don't like being befriended only for our fancy Staff Tags, but because of who we are as people. In the end that's all we are. That's easy enough to wrap around any sized mind, right?

  8. Lirinya, I feel like your responses are basically covering up the fact that you, personally, do not want to socialize. But don't you think as an admin of LotC it comes as a responsibility to get to know and help out the playerbase? It's like avoiding your relatives when they come over for the holidays.

Also, I'm curious as to what keeps you busy as an admin on a daily basis.

From reading how you are speaking to her, I don't blame her from hiding away in a locked teamspeak channel. Shame on you!

Mind you, we are technically players like you. Though we make room of our time in our life to make this server what it is, we are not obligated to spend 24/7 on this server, yet we give up our precious time to make this server something you all can enjoy. If you cannot respect that, you are not welcome here.

  9. Do not like; the least you could've done is wrote lore for it to have been in Asulon. Can't play my character. :(

No, the least we could have done is to not start the server up at all. I personally went through two days of coding nether to bring the server back up. It's only temporary, but necessary before we continue, because salvaging plugins and configuration is what this world will be all about, before we move on towards 3.0.

You can always make a new character for this temporary world! We need players Roleplaying here, it's technically a test server, but with an alternate universe twist.
