  1. ((Do not be so one dimensionally naive, simply because it did not appear in the films does not mean I do not speak the truth. Gimil and the others he was with were all noblemen (dwarf) and red was the sign of royalty. If you bother to read the hobbit, the lost tales, children of hurin and the simillarion you would find a lot more out than you thought you did. Also in the lotr there is battles like the retaking of moria, the scouring of the shire etc... Again, just because it did not appear in the film does not make it false. In fact the lotr films are very inaccurate to the books and miss out many important scenes, even in the extended addition. Like for example, the meeting with Tom bombadil with frodo and Sam. Tom was probably one of the most powerful people in middle earth, maybe he had more power than sauron himself, he was very mysterious and I'm sad they missed him out...))

Are you blind, I said I have not read the books so if they are I was unaware and I didn't bother to read your entire post either so be sure to read that I did not read your entire post before saying something about another part of it. I do not care and don't want a flame so please stop responding because I am going to stop as well. You wrongfully accused me of something I was unaware of so I responded accordingly not 'naively'

  2. Here is my take on Exodawn's design.

    zHq3t.png

I tried to condense it as much as possible.

I think its a good layout but things are still seperate! We need things together, no seperate districts for things, everything together in one room so we can maximize the amount of people in one area.

EDIT: Maybe it could work if the entrances to the separate areas were very large not restricting visibility and they were very small with no space in them to just 'wander'. If they were just the space needed for the structure and nothing more so you can't go and hide in them somewhere.

  3. Personally, I feel Clan Halls are very important to Clan RP, and the clans themselves. Not to mention that we do not really spend ALL that much time in our Halls. If more Clans held feasts and stuff like I used to, we'd have even more RP.

Thats the thing though, what if we held all large feasts ect. at the castle on a HUGE table or something? More people could be invited and more RP would ensue

  4. I think one thing we need to change is the fact that we are now relying on clan halls for houses. I really that if we do get a new town we should have it so that we either don't have clan halls, or have them but not for storage. Since it's obvious that a lot of us are spending a lot of time in their own clan hall. We are cutting off role play that we could have with people not in our own clan/ not in a clan at all.

I totally agree. What if all Dwarves owned individual houses but had a small area in the castle for each of the Clans to meet together or something? Just ideas feel free to toss them around.

  5. You understand that there is more to LOTR then the movies?

obviously -_- this server is not based on LOTR contrary to what most people think, the only thing that is the same are the 4 races, he just accused me of taking those colors from it and I pointed out a fact about the movie and how I did not take them from the movie, and I don't want this to turn into a thread arguing about LOTR so no more posting about it.

  6. ((I detect a sense that someone took a bit more concept from dwarves from LOTR's again... As the offical rainment of the Dwarven millitary in middle earth was also Black and green with bronze trimmings and brown leather boots))

Then you sense wrong. Dwarves were not featured in the movies besides the few councilmen in the first and Gimli in the others. All others were dead and I have not read the books so if it is mentioned in there I was unaware, and it was a vote so I couldn't choose to steal the colors because they had to be voted in anyways.

  7. I did not read all comments on the second page yet but this is the thing, IF we did use Kal Dwain Blackhawk would not be in charge because it is his city, or compensated in any way for us using it. Clans will get free halls in the new city if we make it as well. The current government seems to be working relatively well so I think we need more time to troubleshoot the current government in a new city with more people to RP it with. With the current government we are actually making revenue with the quota and things are getting done faster than they were previously. Another thing is for this to work to the best of its potential we NEED the other cities to shut down and we all come back together until our playerbase is a little larger, we simply don't have enough Dwarves for more than one city currently. I personally would not like to use Kal Dwain and for us to start COMPLETELY new, a city never seen before. We can brainstorm some RP to achieve this as well. I don't want to destroy Karik either because it could be used for other RP events later.

  8. Question, I'd everyone abandons the city, can Arbrek just stay and sit on the Throne, "ruling", the city untill he dies, you come back, or he is dragged away?

Lol I could actually see that, old crazy dwarf living alone in a huge abandoned city. Then the little kids come along and 'dare' eachother to go inside and then you kidnap them lol.

  9. Why not give it a shot, obviously karik hasnt worked as we would all hope it would. I just hope this doesn't take forever to get some support from the GM's.

Like I said me and CountJuno came up with this, and Tyrion is a big part of the Dwarves so i'm sure it wouldn't take too long to get some help =). We have a lot of materials built up as well so we could use those as well. A little world edit for clearing a small cavern would be pretty much the bulk of GM work, we could take it from there and make the city itself.

  10. Honestly, yes, we do need a new city. If the GM's would agree to regen the current Karik region and "collapse" the city, that would be helpful. If not, we will have to find a new location and begin anew. I recommend a central dome with a tavern in the center.

That could work as well I could see a giant town circle/domed area as well with everything around it.

  11. I have talked with CountJuno88 and many other in TS. We as Dwarves are obviously in decline. One of the best options out there I think is to move. This was suggested by CountJuno and I think it is our best chance, he has been around since Simppa, granted not with the Dwarves but he has seen how great our race can be. Karik is an amazing city, sadly we don't have the players to stay here. If we move he hinted at GM support to get the new city done quickly. I think moving into something much smaller is best. Something along the lines of a grand hall, with supporting areas for everything around it, very compact secure and full of Dwarves for RP opportunity. Think of a hall like in old Inner-Kal Urguan with everything we need right there. It would be a nice space where you could actually SEE OTHER DWARVES! how 'bout tat! We would retain all of our lands and have the same borders, just a different capital location. It could even be closer to spawn if everyone agreed, this would bring more travelers to the city and even more RP, not that we would have to be nice to them =). I think this would be our best bet to saving our race which is so obviously in decline. All Dwarves united clanking their mugs and hammering out goods on their anvils. Back to our roots, stubborn and fierce. We could use Karik as a kind of stronghold/ruin or something. Even a right of passage for future kings or councilors to venture to in rp that could allow them to get in touch with the ancients.

  12. Hmm... A new capital? What will become of the one we have atm? We could use it for events like arena matches, and loot everything else.

Exactly, we would take what we want, leave the rest, it would be a nice RP abandoned city or could even be a fort for us. Or even like a right of passage, you know like high ranking people (grand councilor, King, ect) could go and kind of learn something from the ancients or something IDK but we NEED to move if we are to save the Dwarven Nation, we are sinking everything into saving Karik and its wasting our time, its just too big, simple as that, if we move we can salvage our good start fresh and learn from our mistakes. The city is just too big and messy to salvage. And i'm not saying it doesn't look nice, architecture is great, I even helped build some of it when the new map wasn't out. We just need to move.

  13. We basically NEED to re-unite, I was talking to CountJuno88 and he came up with an idea to COMPLETELY start over. We would rebuild the Dwarven Capital in a new location preferably closer to spawn to increase traffic. The city would be smaller so there wouldn't be one Dwarf every 100 blocks and we would be closer and more rp would be achievable. I think this would benefit us GREATLY as a race. Closer, easier to defend, more RP, better in general, the Dwarves as he stated need to get back to our roots, in their halls clanking their mugs and hammering on their anvils. It would be nice to have, in my opinion, one hall, moderate in size with pillars similar to the old inner-Kalurguan, with housing, shopping, thrones/meeting rooms, guild houses and all, all together, then, as we NEED more room expand, we started huge and had nowhere near enough players to fill it and that was the major flaw of Karik. This is a chance to start over and he hinted at the fact we would have GM help so we could probably achieve this in a quick amount of time.
