  1. Meaghan,

I think you may have missed the part about people not having to live in fear for their lives every day anymore. The can actually have a chance at a brighter future. This is a celebration of life but really life and death are one in the same. You can't have one with out the other. He had to die so others could live, its as simple as that.

As one of the smartest men to ever walk the Earth once said,

"Our lives are made by the deaths of others."

    - da Vinci

I know, I know. It just hurts my heart to know that it could even happen, you know? I'm not sad that he died- good riddance, all in all. I'm sad that people are celebrating it as a triumph, when it's a horrible sorrow it even started in the first place. Idk. I'll never feel right about cheering at a death. X_x

  2. If you Don't do anything to stop Evil from happening you are just as bad, He deserved to die. Think of all the memories lost of the people that died from his reign of power. do they mean nothing?

However I think the celebration is less about him dying and more about Freedom and the people who's lives will be spared the agony and hardships they would of faced with him in power. I'm sure during this celebration (if it happened already I'm sorry I missed it) does happen, a moment of Silence or small ceremony should be held to honor the lives lost from this tragedy.

A celebration of lives Saved, Freedom, liberty and to remember the lives lost may we never forget and let this happen again. If you don't want to log on for that then your loss.

Then I honestly pity you. There is nothing worth celebrating when it starts with a fellow human being going mad and killing his own brothers and sisters. No one ever deserved to die. Some people have to die, to preserve our world, but no human being deserves it. I remember a day back at home in Belfast, where the news spoke about a police officer being gunned down on the street. My friends were cheering at school that day. Like it was bloody Christmas. And I seemed to be the only one to stop and think "Wait a minute. He's dead."

But all that's over, now. -shrug- Screw it. ^_^

  3. The cruelty of his failed jamarahiya falls, and many innocent, good people have been spared pain and death. But in the end, I don't think it's something to be celebrated. Tons of people were killed, and it ended with just another person killed. Evil, disgusting freak he may have been, he was still human. I won't lament his loss, but I will lament that he turned to such disgusting practices.

No human being dying should be celebrated. Gotta' pull a Fable 2 here on you guys- think of all your memories. Good feelings, bad. Maybe sitting on your father's lap by a campfire or something. He had just as many memories and feelings, if not more. And now he has none.

I love you guys, I love this server. But if this day was about celebrating someone -dying-? I'm rather happy I didn't log on. Tomorrow things'll go back to normal, though. I'm sure. Then I'll start trolling Al'khazar with my assassin-y goodness once more.

  4. (( WOOPSIE DOODLE. Only now do I notice I posted this in the wrong place. I'll fix it in about fifteen minutes or so. ))

    Villain Application:

    Minecraft User Name: Angrboden

Villain Character's Name: Lady Maeghan Sterling

What sort of Villain you're looking to be? What evils mentioned above will apply to you?

Pure, unadulterated nationalism and extremely biased opinion are the basis for my character's evil. She goes through her daily, hateful routine without knowing for a second that what she does is widely considered evil, viewing herself as the "Architect of the ideology that shall one day spawn a human empire."

The evils she is guilty of are as follows--

    Using others for personal gain.

    Lying.

    Cheating.

    Vengeance.

Not necessarily direct murder, but often ordering others to do the job.

Slavery. A very important element for my character- she both tries to run for it politically, as well as performs it actively in what she hopes to be the soon-developed underground market.

Consorting with the Undead. Much to her foolishness, she views the undead as a potential, while temporary ally to the future "Human Empire."

Tempting others. Her entire ideology is based upon a massacred vision of solidarity, the concept that if she can garner enough support from other humans, she can see her dream come true.

Bio of Villain (minimum 1 paragraph).

((Added to server application, which describes her childhood, this will thoroughly describe her goals and manner. I will still give a handful of references to her past that should clarify the events that made her as such.))

( Nationalism and racism are not only concepts spurring hatred and conflict, they are also mindlessly self-destructing idealisms, considering that they are the emulation of one's will to cease living simply for the fact that they live. - My Buddhist teacher's words when I first joined the congregation. The views held by my character are held because I want her to be considered evil. In no way am I such a person in real life. )

Click for music. Not necessary- for effect. ))

"Those stupid, pea-brained brutes. Their stubborn and foolish honor will indeed be what does them in, whether it be at the hands of the undead or the mighty Human Empire. Surely if that race-traitor wench was not nigh, I would have at least gotten my proposal out to the shaman. Not that it would be listened to- this was merely a test after all. Albeit a failed one- note to self, have the slave do something painful to punish him for his faulty suggestion that orcs would support slavery.

An elven slave. Me listening to one, no less. Point-ears know nothing of the other races, always so fed up with prancing around and planting flowers. How one could have taken up sword against my family I have none of an idea, seeing as the frail little rats would likely put up no challenge to a small dog. They may continue to plant their flowers, but let it be known that the cold steel boots of human soldiers will one day crush them in our onslaught. For Oren.

Needless to say that the domestic slave will be the last for us to achieve, considering the distance of their capital. Fitting, seeing as a slave made for the betterment of the daily human's life should be our final priority. The first slaves shall come from the dwarves- their short, stocky manner coupled with their endurance will make them fine workers. If we manage to crush their foothold in existence as a unified people, we would next turn to the orcs- the largest military threat to the conceptuality of a pure Oren. As was stated before, however, the smartest being in that nation is likely the race-traitor, and she is simply a child's ball pumped tight full of drooling shamanism and mongrel honor. With a simple sweep, they will be crushed by the Human Empire.

The undead would see the expansion of humanity as a beneficial matter to them, the attention of the orcs being drawn to the north to match the invasion of a pure Oren giving the undead a perfect chance to strike where the guard is low. The priorities of the enemies shall give through, the orcs likely hoping for us to cease fire as they turn to the enemies of all life- but we shall not, instead giving a feral swoop that will carve through the mongrel hordes. The orcish slave shall be fit for combat- once again quite fitting, considering the defense their hulking puke-toned frames will provide against the skeleton's arrow. Finally, through a light and easy dash, the elves will fall to the Human Empire, providing us with the domestic slave for the betterment of the daily lives of humans. Too weak to provide any real threat, this phase shall be quick and painless.

Then, dear reader, the human empire will turn the full focus upon the hordes of the dead, the might of a United Aegis being no match for the foolish creatures. They will be dashed as the rest- pray to be the most difficult of matters, seeing as the creatures hold power that none of the filthy mongrel races hold. However, with the mongrels serving us, and we utlizing them to a manner most befitting their freakish existences, the fiends will not stand a chance.

It shall be a glorious day when we bring peace to the world of Aegis- with the races in their rightful positions beneath the mighty human empire. That shall be the night I sit in a place of honor in the court of to-be-known Emperor Edmund and Empress Ivrae, being waited on by elven slaves. Silent in their work, they will be there, but unnoticeable. As they should be.

Until that day, I remain in this place. Working towards the betterment of humanity. Suffering through the brutish, idiocy of the pea-brains, the greedy filth of the cave-rats, and the impish annoyances of the point-ears. Forced to sit through their rubbish, heaped upon me. That dwarf the days before, daring say that my family -deserved- what they suffered? To dare suggest that when one of his mongrel kin stabbed the innocent woodsman and his wife, then wrung the neck of my elder brother in his sleep, that he was just? I will see him flogged alive. Thus is indeed how it shall start.

First we tax them more. Then we ban them to a ghetto to help keep their filth from spreading. Then we ban them from intermarriage. Then we ban them from our cities- force them to live in their own nations which will soon become the slave hubs of the might Human Empire. Then I-

The tip of her pen chips in her aggrovated scritching- fading both her rant and her anger.

"Then I shall have my vengeance. They will feel the pain I felt when they stole my family from me. The mongrel hordes stop here." Her emerald eye flickers to the prototyped propaganda poster upon the wall. "Return to us, Oren, shall be the words of the disciples of the mighty Emperor Edmund..... And return to us it shall."

Describe what each trait means to your character, and relate whether or not the trait is one of their defining characteristics. Then describe how they will be acted out on a daily basis, if they are a defining characteristic.

Deception: Deception is something she finds sickening- when it's against a human. To any other race, she finds it does not truly matter- as she sees them without value. Lying and cheating to a human is a disgrace. Lying and cheating to a mongrel is a necessary concept.

Pride: Her pride goes an extremely long distance- considering how little she wishes her name to be tarnished in a human court. She does what she does for her people! They should respect her as a lady of the noble court!

Betrayal: She would never betray her allies- considering her only allies are human for the moment. If the undead do become a necessary neutrality, however, betrayal of them will come with guaranteed eventuality.

Greed: None. She lives for her people, and will give charity to any -human- who needs it. Any other race, however, she will likely just spit on.

Gluttony: None. Her refined nature is much to posh and fancy for such a thing.

Sloth: Also none, for the same reason. She will always be organized and punctual.

Lust: Very much there- oddly enough, for elves. Although any true love to an elf she finds sickening, she will gladly force herself upon an elven slave. She finds it a mixture of a release for her, and suffering for the hated creatures.

Hatred: Drives her entire being. The death of her family turned her blame on the other races- which has only amplified over the years. They will be enslaved beneath a Human Empire, or she will die trying.

Wrath: Actually quite a difficult thing to spur on- lest you note her family, which in her rants she will often bring up. Then it is incredibly personal.

    1. You are in the Grand city Al'khazar in the city square outside the keep. Quickly a noisy crowd of nobles and wealthy merchants form around you, mostly of humans, but other races as well. The crowd's loud chatter is silenced as the King walks out of the Keep, with several guards on either side of him, to address his people. The King begins to talk to the crowd about a plan of attack against the Undead. The crowd is very packed and doesn't leave a lot of space for free movement, but you are able to push through people.

Upon reaching a foreground, her eyes brighten visibly at the sight of her beloved king. She attempts to garner a cheer from those around her, not unlikely failing considering the darkened nature of the speech. This does not slow her, however, and she screams and cheers after just about every thing her "Emperor" Edmund says to the point that she looks like she'll pass out. The rage of the moment would very possibly cause her to form a posse to patrol Al'khazar that night, attacking any of the outsider races whom she would call "Foreign traitors to the king!"

    2. An old lady has fallen by a tree on the Kings road. She calls for your help just as you round the corner. She appears to be holding onto a bag, tucked under her arm. Upon closer inspection you notice three others around her, some armed, but all dead.

If the old lady is human, she would immediately move to help her, making sure she is alright, examining her for any wounds. She would not question the bag under the lady's arm- the privacy of a human must be respected!

If the old lady is not, she would immediately turn and run- attempting to find a guard to bring to the scene. "That mongrel killed these men!" She would claim, regardless of proof- and would insist it whether she is victorious or not as if she truly believed it happened.

    3. You're approached at your house by a man who lives not too far away. "Hey neighbor!" He says as he waves.

If he is human, she would grin and wave in return- first asking how she could help, or striking up conversation about the glory of Oren or who loves the King more.

If he is not, she would threaten him immediately, and would hold a violent demeanor until he leaves.

Players who wish to play Advanced Evil or Special characters must answer the following. They’re extra for everyone else.

Is there any specific entity, person, or group of people to which your character submits completely, willingly, begrudgingly, or unwillingly? Are there situational qualifiers to this?

Hard to say, but for the moment likely King Edmund or Queen Ivrae- or any other of the royal family. The hard to say part concerns the fact that if any of the royal family were to show constant dislike and disapproval to her, her affection may fade. Also likely resulting in a possible attempt to coup of she can garner support- very likely failing, but being present nonetheless.

Deep in his heart, who, if anyone, does your character believe is superior to him? Answer as an inner monologue from your character’s perspective.

All humans are equal, exception only being the royal family, who's word shall command the Human Empire on it's invasion of the east.

Does your character trust in himself, or does he believe his abilities are due to some other driving force? Does he boast the truth of it or suppress all hint of it?

All humans are driven by a force, whether they notice or not, a form of destiny that states clearly that Oren shall one day span all of Aegis. Eventually, all humanity shall be dragged to one equal nation- with the mongrel hordes serving to better it until they die off.

Does your character trust the words or actions of others? Why and to what extent?

Another human? Always, no matter what they say- unless she is in the court of lords, in which case she finds it necessary to force her word above the others. For their good, you see. To another race? Never. Barely a single thing an elf, orc, or dwarf can be trusted. At any time, she expects them to plunge a blade in her back.

What situations does your character prepare for ahead of time? How does he do this?

She will not uncommonly pray to her departed family for encouragement in her hateful rants and actions, but not much beyond this. She believes destiny shall guide her to victory, and relies little on anything else.

What, in essence, drives your character to the evil he commits most often? Are there complications that drive him to commit others, or is it the other way around?

Vengeance for her family. All there is to say. It is the sole force that drives her existence- whilst she does not notice it, believing that her hatred is simply the "Right thing to believe."

Is your character a villain or an antihero? What do you think the difference is?

A villain, although she does not believe so. An antihero (To my knowledge, not surprising if it's incorrect) is someone who fights for good, whilst their intentions are not always pure. Such as hunting down and slaughtering that drug dealer- not because he's a bad person, but because he hurt your loved ones. And for that he'll suffer. A villain, however, is placed on this world with the sole purpose of destroying the lives of others- in this case, the lives of the other races. Rough definitions- but I refuse to cheat and google a dictionary definition to make myself look smart.

  5. Out-Of-Character:

    -Minecraft Account Name: Angrboden

    -How old are you?: 18

    -Time-Zone/Country of Residence: Western Canada

-Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I like to think so. Before I am forced to place my observation elsewhere, I will have to note that this form is very similar to the Ruined World application form. Must be some sort of format or other that good RP servers follow. ^^ I like it.

-Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I try my hardest to be nice, but OOC sexism and racism really wear on me. Which is why I am quite cheery about the fact the leaders had that placed that in the server rules as a social taboo. My last server caused me quite the bother due to negligence in that zone. Otherwise, I’m cheery, generally understanding, and quick to help someone out to the best of my efforts. :D

-How much time could you be on the server weekly?: Regularly I’d note that it would change based upon activity on the server, but seeing as this server is ‘rocking’ over one hundred online players at most times, I’m sure I’ll be safe to say at least an hour and a half a day.

-How long have you played minecraft?: Since creative.

-What do you know about roleplaying? How long have you been doing it? What kind?: I have roleplayed for roughly ten years or so, probably closer to eleven- since I learned how to use the internet properly. Needless to say, when I was a child I was not as adept at the practice- but my experience grew at what my friends of old referred to as an “Astonishing pace”. I have roleplayed in forms of fantasy ranging from the Tolkien-esque concept of Orcs n’ Elves, like this server, to science fiction servers reminiscent of Star Wars or other classic examples of the like.

-What do you expect this server will be like?: Strict, but outgoing in a roleplay manner. Which is indeed a concept I’d prefer- nothing bothers me more than a mod who is afraid to banhammer someone who deserves it.

-What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

-Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules? What about the lore?: I have, and I find the rules perfect. My least favorite law will be hard to find indeed. As for the lore, I thought it was phenomenal. Iblees’ curses were an absolutely amazing concept. A movie could be made of these things. X)

-Name the 4 races on this server. Humans, Dwarves, Elves and Orcs.

-How did you hear about us?: Saw the thread title on the forum when I was waiting with extreme impatience for my Ruined World app to get accepted. Ended up simply giving up on that server- this one should serve my tastes better.

-Did you vote?: The first and second link, yes, but for some reason the third link would not work for me. =o

-What was your favourite Law?: No racism. It may seem odd to say, but my last billion servers never had a rule on that. Glad to see it’s actually supported in writing.

-What was your least favourite Law?: Hard pressed to find one, but I’d have to say that theft is allowed in moderated amounts annoys me in the slightest. It seems too easy for people to crank it, and then get away with an “I thought it was moderate, sowwwy. =P”. Although they probably cannot. This server looks just about flawless in those manners.

-What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name? Angrboden

    In-Character:

    -Character Name: Maeghan Sterling

-What is your Race?: Human- Southeron

-Lordofthecraft.net/forum forum account: Angrboden – Display name: Maeghan

    -Biography:

You don't have to use the music- I simply like the effect. ))

    http://www.youtuberepeat.com/watch?v=vQBd2fgLV5Q&feature=related

“Maeghan, little Maeghan…. How fast your heart will beat one day…. One day you will know what your father and I teach you as fact…. I hate it when we argue…. You must know that we do what we do because we love you, and want to see you in a society free from fear…. You’re our daughter….”

The comb would gently tug on a knot, and then would hang there- the frail woman seated behind the teenaged girl letting her fickle hand hang precariously on the hauntingly gentle tool. The young girl seated before her would say nothing- her expression still puffy from the tears shed before.

“…… Know… That we’ll always be there for you. You are the most important thing to us…. Our….”

    Lightning crashes outside.

    “… Daughter… Mm?”

    “…. Yes… Mother.”

Another crash of lightning would jab the girl’s mind from the night before, and back to the bloodstained corpses of her parents and elder brother on the muddied floor of her cottage. Their hatred fueled them through life, and then channeled them towards death. A blatant truth that poor Maeghan could not understand in her sorrows- a blatant truth clouded by the mind of the other truth apparent in the situations. Another creature murdered her parents. A non-human. A lesser race. She hisses, attempting to drown her sorrow in anger- but failing, the result being a banshee wail into the night. Her family was gone. And it was all… Their…. Fault……

    - - - -

    http://www.youtuberepeat.com/watch/?v=XYKUeZQbMF0&feature=related

The muddied floor that had once plagued the young girl’s very mind and mental wellbeing imitated the mud now caked upon the poor woman’s rural boots as she moved, driven with purpose, to the city in the distance. Her mind wandered to the small amount of money left from her home- having gotten her the help of farmhands the past number of years, she now prepared to use the final sum she had garnered to find her a proper place within the city’s walls. One day she would rule this land…. One day her parents would look down on her with pride, knowing they had raised the perfect child…. Or she would die achieving such a goal.

    -Character Age: 29

-Character Appearance: Tall, raven-haired and fair, with an angular look about her denoting a regal, lack-of-a-better-term pretty energy about her. All this is of course used to cover up her true dastardly intent.

-Character Personality: Even to the “Lesser races” she remains a very kind and hospitable individual- if blatantly clear in her distrust and disdain towards the freedom of the races. Her dastardly, scheming manner is hidden beneath a sweet, calming exterior, and her attempts to avoid conflict show her cause at seeing the trust and support of others.

-Your ambitions: To see the entire world brought to a peace, if a forced one, beneath the hand of a superior human empire. One that in her wildest dreams, she wishes to lead on an era of expansionism, encroaching on the other territories and enslaving what she sees as the “Lesser” races in order to better the lives of her own people.

-Can your character read or write?: Indeed- if being all she really can do. Her obsession with politics and intellectual practices borderlines upon a maddened lust for knowledge, causing her to focus in hardly any other practice beside education.

-Can your character mine?: Nay, she is much too weak.

-Are you a capable builder? Too weak.

-Can you wield a sword?: Hardly- her past haunts her beyond the will to personally inflict harm. Although she does hold no particular qualms with ordering others to perform the dirty deeds- given she has the power she so craves.

-Enjoy Farming?: Nope. She finds herself much too feeble for such a laborious action. And she is correct.

-Does your character have any special skills?:] None whatsoever, beyond her overly adept skill in education and literacy.

-A screenshot of your skin: The Southerons having dark skin made me attempt to give her almost a desert-lander skin tone, as well as giving her rather noble looking robes to match her attempts to use what little gold she had left in making herself presentable in a political court.

    picture2isd.png

-Other Information:I simply would like to know if donations stack- would I be able to make two separate payments of 100 dollars to get the 200 dollar package? ^^

There ya’ are. Really hope I can get in. Even though she’s more of a simply oblivious character in moral standards, I shall RP her until I can gain a good understanding of how I could cloud her mind and the minds of others, and then I will do a villain application. And I promise you this- if I do achieve even a slightly influential role, I have RPed for a very long time on many different forums and games- I’ll keep it in perspective. My character will be the one to gain power, not me. <3 -HOWEVER-, this character is more aimed to be the small-time leader of a handful of movements that will likely be crushed by Oren for RP quality. =P I have no expectation of actually ending up in charge of a nation. My character does, however. ~.^
