  1. Most fun warclaim I’ve ever participated in, that's for sure. Drowned while standing in a tree o7. Maybe we should make it a new rule not to have half the map covered in water? Or idk.. start peeps a little further away would be nice too. We ran out and didn’t even make it to the water before y’all were on us. If they were gonna spawn us that close, why not just cut half the map down and make it a straight shot? We were excited to do some boat flanks, some water fights, and make it all splishy splashy. Add in the 15m of frozen server and the great joy of the server getting the most kills via dudes falling from the map... best 25m I’ve ever played ?

  2. Lucion ponders aloud, “It says here, ‘Should a man partake in this action, her body shall be cleansed by fire’. So if a man marries, say an elf, the elf gets cleansed? What if a man marries a male elf? Do both men just partake in public humiliation or is the male elf also cleansed by fire?”

  3. Lucion listens to a retelling of the battle with a puzzled look on his face, “That’s not how it happened... Haenseni MEN had prepared to take to the lake. But on that day, the lake thought itself a sea and bashed boats with skygod-level tides. The battle was so chaotic, time itself seemed to freeze for what felt like a day. As if Iblees himself was at the forefront of Renantian ‘soldiers’, time snapped back into place with dead Haenseni men floating about in the sea. Truly, it was a day where evil worked its magic. For no man would dare call it a fight. It was an unholy reckoning. Thus, seeing the proud, brave, yet somehow dead, soldiers of Haense floating in the tides of chaos, the men and women of the land rose up and tried to force Renantian devils from their lands. But even the sheer valor of the great Haenseni people was nothing to the barbarism of the Renantians. They cut down unarmed men, women, and children as if they were not sons and daughters of Horen. Truly, the day will be remembered as one where Renatus showed their true colors. That of bloodthirsty pillagers who cut down free people for daring to seek their own liberties.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

    History:

The Kharajyr are a race created by the Daemon Metztli. The legend goes that Metztli would steal infants and take them to a far off island in the middle of the ocean. Though, for reasons unknown, Metztli would experiment with crossing the infant with the local ocelot population of the beautiful island in order to create a sentient race. After centuries of failed experiments, Metztli would finally create the perfect being. The first Kha, whose white fur proudly proclaimed his pure blood. Seeking to create an entire species of these beings, Metzli would try and fail to recreate the perfection that the white being had. This did not stop her from trying though, and she would eventually create a sustainable population of these new beings. This was the birth of the Kha’Leparda, Kha’Cheetrah, Kha’Pantera, and Kha’Tigrasi.

The Kha have not had an easy existence, despite being the ‘children’ of an individual Daemon. Whether it be through volcanic eruption forcing them from their homeland, war with the Orcs, mass isolation and the creation of ‘apekha’, more war with the orcs, or even rebellion amongst the Kharajyr populace. But still, the Kharajyr forge on. Worshipping Metztli and remaining true to their proud nature.

    Physical Attributes:

The Kha’Leparda, the generalist subrace, has fur that is light brown and covered in spots or rings. Leparda are average in all qualities, though more likely to explore multiple practices.

The Kha’Cheetrah, the smallest subrace, has a more golden fur that is also covered in spots. Cheetrah are noticeably smaller than their kin, but make up for their stature by being the fastest sprinters and best climbers.

The Kha’Leparda, the sneaky subrace, has dark or even black fur with no spots or stripes. Leparda are regarded as the stealthiest and most prone to thievery of the four subraces.

The Kha’Tigrasi, the mighty subrace, has a more orange fur that is covered in stripes. Tigrasi /are/ the strongest and most proud race of the Kharajyr, with no other Kha being able to naturally match their strength in battle.

Kharajyr stand between 5’2” and 6’4”, with 1.5-2.5” claws on each digit. They possess tails for add balance, the ability to eat almost any food, slightly heightened hearing, and a very small advantage compared to the other races when it comes to seeing in the dark. The digitigrade humanoids are also known for their ability to drop to a quadrupedal stance which can increase their speed and agility, though this typically prevents the use of more advanced weaponry.

Finally, the Kharajyr have a lifespan unique to their species. Kha are considered Kittens from 0-15 years of age, experience a period of maturity from 16-130, and then begin to age considerably from 130-200. It is noted, however, that most Kha don’t live to 200, that is merely the biological cap that they cannot pass. Most die around the age of 150, though there have been notable exceptions of Kha living above 150 yet never above 200.

    Culture:

The Kharajyr still uses remnants of their ancient language, as most have forgotten the tongue. Though most of these words center on family titles, such as Patta and Munna, Father and Mother, the Kha has still managed to salvage terms such as Muuna, Metztli, as well as basic pleasantries such as a greeting/goodbye, Sa’vi, a way of giving thanks, Mul’ta, and a way to say your welcome, Tra’kul. Kha are known to speak in the third person and carry a unique accent due to their physical traits. Outside of language, Kha are known to dress in more decorative tribal clothing that is made from light materials and utilizing bright colors. This is to better combat the heat of wearing ‘normal’ clothes atop their already thick fur. Though, during times of war, Kha will dawn animal hides and leather to offer protection while still remaining agile. In extreme circumstances, they are also known to wear chainmail, though not plate, as it is the heaviest armor they can bear without boiling themselves in the sun. The Kharajyr are known to have a trial of adulthood that Kha must pass at the age of 15 to achieve their first title “S”. Finally, the Kharajyr still hold their romantic practices of old, where a Kha will seek out their Metz’al and undergo a formal wedding after the male offers a ring to the female’s father. This ceremony typically resembles weddings of the descendants, but with the added customs of the male providing a sacrifice worthy of their union, as well as, the couple taking a joint bath in the sacred pools of Metztli, their patron goddess.

KHA ARE NOT SUPAH FAST, BACKFLIPPING, NINJAS WHO CAN SEE PERFECTLY IN THE DARK AND HEAR YOU COMING FROM A MILE AWAY

  5. -2. You seem to just be grabbing for power with your multiple staff applications and not applying out of a geniune desire. You have an inflated ego, and are over playing your history. Not only did all the servers you listed as owning never take off, most averaging a grand total of 0 players, but you downplay that you were only banned once for a beastiality comment, while since coming back you've told an individual to hang themself. That level of immaturity cannot be rewarded with a staff position.

Write a book, don't use your 'extremely unique ability' to create half-baked events on the spot to make less-than-acceptable events. That's just a terribad idea. The best event you can come up with, the one you used for your full on application, has two scenes that boil down to 'Here's a thing, kill it.' it's not creative, you get more depth rolling on the random encounters list for DnD.

  6. He seems nice when he's having a good day... Which is rare. Please for the love of Yemaker, no. We cannot have new players being guided by those who have yet to grasp the server. A simple stroll through the official discord chat will show just how bad things can get.

Not dissing Flugal, I don't know you outside of the stream of OOC and Discord bants, but if we are going off first impressions... Which is all a new player would have to go off of... then it's a solid -1.

Get in a good place, then try to join a staff team. You can't use mental illness as an excuse for rampant toxicity, then days later with no positive change to behaviour, ask to join one of the most critical staff roles.

  7. I'm bias, I'll put this right here at the top for all to see. I love Orcs and have loved them since Aegis. I love blah, slavery, raiding, spirit worship, hunts, and tavern brawls. That might just be me, but this is why I'm putting a massive disclaimer before getting into the meat and potatoes.

Blah is imho, the most simple language we have on LotC outside of common, which is just English. There are only a handful of direct words to use, and it's a simple matter, again in my opinion, to replace letters with the phonetic transcription of what you're trying to say. I'm getting to the point where my own thoughts, the little voice in my head, is replacing words with their blah counterparts.

That being said, I highly, highly encourage all new orcs to play Goblins. Goblins have considerably less restrictions on Blah, as they have the smaller tusks. It's an easier transition for new players to get into the spirit of the Orcish RP and provides an avenue to learn about the culture.

I get that most people don't like Orc RP, but what I don't understand is that everyone calls it 'memey'. Can someone PM me, or post examples of what they consider meme rp? Because that just seems to be a catch all with little actual substance.

I get no one wants to be the victim, everyone has a need for their character to be the hero, but I don't really see how Snaga (Slave) raids or sacrificial RP is memey, while The Church runs around and just kills anyone who doesn't worship their god. What makes Orc RP a memefest, but not human Cannonist RP?

I'm trying to understand, not attack anyone here. We need examples if we are to change. What we don't need is OOC drama everytime we interact because other players don't understand how the race is designed to function. It's not memey for an Olog to speak like an idiot, they /are/ idiots. It's not memey for us to gather a sacrifice, we need them for our RP and try to make it enjoyable for whomever is being sacrificed.

I will leave one last complaint geared towards the rest of the playerbase, which I just find ironic. We hangout in our city, yet no one every visits. So we are left to our own devices and only go into other lands when there is something to acquire. We are the literal embodiment of our lore in the sense of dealing with harrassment by other races, we face so much out of character harrassment that most of the Orcs I've spoken with don't even like to leave Orc lands, just like how the race is written in lore. People hate orcs, so when we lash out at the hate IRP, we are still the bad guys. We are pushed into isolation because other players do not want to be around us, then harrassed that we only leave the city to do villain RP. Imagine IC or OOC that everytime you leave your lands, you are harrassed, why would you welcome those same people with open arms either IC or OOC?

I refer back to Sutica just days ago where a band of Orcs were running about, and we found a Gypsy player claiming that something was trying to kill her. We then took her to the safety of a city, in case there was a monster outside, and were harrassed OOCly for villain RP. We saved a human, and still received harrassment. How exactly are we supposed to take this punishment everytime we play?

Help us improve, don't harrass us. Don't act like we are all bad because you heard that the RP was bad. Tell us how you think it would be better, and then we can make progress. PM me everything. Every grievance, every complaint, and every suggestion. I'm dying to hear it all. I'm serious.

  8. It breaks down pretty simply for me, let the mods worry about moderating, and if you're a player just play. It's pretty sad that it's hard to find good RP, but you can find DOZENS of multi-paragraph posts where players have their pitchforks and want to do some ole fashion rioting. If y'all spent half as much effort working on your RP skills as you do crafting that 'expert opinion' dis on the staff, we'd have one hell of a server.

  9. Hello Juliet,

Are you still experiencing difficulties logging in? I have a feeling it is either a problem with your internet connection. If you are on a wireless connection, double check that you aren't having troubles connecting to your own router. If you have a wired connection, be sure the blue cable is plugged into the back of your PC or side of your laptop and this cable is also plugged into your router.

If you are still having trouble, you should try launching in Administrator mode. It is likely that the Firewall is your problem. If this still does not work, you can PM me with your operating system and I would be happy to walk you through the steps of allowing Minecraft through your PC's firewall.

#Any prior experience with Bukkit/Spigot/Another Minecraft server API?:  I have no experience in programming with Bukkit or Spigot, I have only hosted minecraft servers. But that was more Bash programming than anything else.

Creator: [mc name and ic name, n/a if not applicable]: Augor; Dread Lord R-something.. I also referred to him as Lord Rawr. Back in Anthos.

Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature: Dread Knights were originally constructed by the Blood Mages of old dueling with other local humans. The humans bet their souls they could defeat the Blood Mages.. They could not. The locals were turned in to the first Dread Knights. The Dread Knights were used to harass the people of Asulon until their numbers were depleted to three. The final Dread Knights embarked on a journey to Anthos where they began to grow and prosper. After the reign of Aelor Dread, the Dread Knights' numbers began a steady increase, (I am from this time), before suddenly vanishing... They now struggle to make a comeback. Their reign of terror looming over the heads of the Descendants. One day, the Iron Menace will return in greater force than ever before.

  12. MC Name: Bucky_24
    IC Name: Vuln'Igne Lanncaster
Original Race [n/a if not applicable]: Dark Elf
    Transformed Form: Dread Knight
Creator: [mc name and ic name, n/a if not applicable]: Augor; Dread Lord R-something.. I also referred to him as Lord Rawr. Back in Anthos.
Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature: Vuln in his past life was a murderous little Dark Elf who had a knack for getting into trouble then talking his way out. He joined a group called the Nierics Order. He also single-handedly lead to the destruction of that particular order through a series of bouts with the White Rose back during the Martial Law of Salvus. Vuln left with a few of the surviving members to become a monster hunter during the Age of the Witcher, (When everyone wanted to be monster hunters) He became obsessed with the Ascended and Aeriel.

He took to believing that the Dread Knights were mistaken warriors of Aeriel and began a cult in their honor. Thinking them to be Stoic Warriors of Aeriel that fight to defend themselves, he proudly proclaimed his love for them and tried to convert his friends into the dark. After being chased from every city, he was blessed with becoming a Dread Knight.

(This was around the rework of the Antag from Anthos. I recall fighting the updated versions of the antags in Malinor's ruins at some point after their fall. I also was one of two Dread Knights to be corrupted by the Blood Shards that the Antag used. Vuln never removed it as it reminded him faintly of his heart and he has been RP'd as viciously protecting it. I am unsure if the crystal should have disintegrated or what have you. So clarification would be nice.)

  13. MC name: Bucky_24

Char name: Vuln'Igne Lanncaster, goes purely by Vuln since his transformation.

    Time zone: EST

Skype (You can PM me it): You have it

Sidenote: If you go by a hard limit for DK's don't count my character towards it. I'm very inactive and only registering in-case I need to do something in-game. I plan on keeping my character that I spent over a year on. Even if I rarely play.

  14. I have one question for the OP. Why is your interpretation of the server and what you think it should be like, outweigh anothers? What makes you better than them? Your original post talks about things that should even affect you or your character in RP. Someone is wielding a wrench? Since you should be able to separate RP from OOC, you could be like, "I've never seen this before. It must have been crafted by a master blacksmith." You RP your character on an already established server. The 'History of Earth' and it's technological progression does not determine how on a magical plane of existence, totally fictional and brought about by the collaborations of hundreds, if not a thousand players. Real World ain't got nuffin on me.

On the limited time I spend on the server, I play a 7'6" suit of demonic armor who walks around killing people with an axe that is possessed by a violent memory I had when under a certain situation. I don't believe that ever happened in the history of our world, yet it is perfectly acceptable here. Why rant about something you don't understand anyway? Who's to say RP, in the past three years, hasn't lead to the creation of a wrench. Or explain, like our lore actually does, dyed hair. Maybe a fedora was crafted in RP by a tailor? Maybe someone decided, "Woh. What if I made a cloth helmet... that is for style instead of war?" And the hat resembles a fedora?

I could literally go out into the wilds, grab a stick and skewer a frog, then call it a Computer. There is nothing stopping me from selling Computers, or frogs on a stick, in any city in the map. Why? Because a name doesn't determine if it's lore-friendly. You made a comment about a cutlass, or just an oddly-shaped sword which is used by various pirate groups in game anyway, and how it doesn't fit lore. Why not? Going with the Names-Doesn't-Dictate-RP rule I made up 5 seconds ago, I could create a new design for a broom, maybe I want to put steel wool on the bottom for cleaning rust off machines, and call it a Rifle. Or a Sniper. I could even call it a Stick with Steel on the End. All is perfectly accepted. It might seem nonsensical, but it is lore-friendly. Get off ye high horse, because this server ain't changing. People will always bring new ideas to the server, many of which I don't agree with, and there isn't anything you can do about it.

  15. A copy of the notice finds Vuln's hand. The Dread Knight lashes out at one of the remaining cultist, ordering the subordinate to read it for him. When the message just ends with, "All the dread knights" Vuln emits a crackled sigh. "Flesh-men. They expect... to identify... a dread knight... by his appearance?" His crimson helmet grinds towards the reader, his shoulder guards moan as he rolls them after so many years. "Good luck."

  16. IC Backstory:

Deep within the unholy bowels that is the Land of Dread, the Crimson Knight finally stirs. After years of stoic silence, Vuln, a Dread Knight created just shortly after Verin by their old dark master. Second of the fourth born, the once Dark Elf pledged himself willingly into the Dread Lord's service. Believing himself a priest, the Dread Knight began his dark crusade on the mortals who forsake him.

Many tried to duel the hulking suit of meteor-steel. His body forged by his once more agile self. But none could halt the red tide that the being left behind. His loyalty took him to many places and fought many battles, even losing some. His body was punctured, torn apart, and smashed beyond recognition, and yet... he fought on. As if an army of smiths were behind him, the being kept coming back for more. Returning from impossible damage. Yet he found his match in a foe he could not fight with might.

In the forested lands of Malinor, the giant was tricked. His beloved brother, Verin, was consumed by the power of the blood crystals and must be cleansed. The Dread Lord lead Vuln to the gates of Malinor where Verin stood, among the corrupted. A vicious battle was fought, one which lead to death and destruction of many. Yet the two dread knights managed to complete their goal and disassembled Verin. The Dread Lord left Verin's mangled parts with Vuln, and instructed the knight to deliver him to the stronghold. As Vuln turned his back to leave, a blood crystal was stabbed deep into his back. He was corrupted.

Many years went by, Vuln wandered the lands confused and in pain. His insanity reached a new level, as the crystal feed on him. Finally, after the Scourged was defeated the pain left. He pried the crystal from his chest and held it tight in his fist. Memories of his time under it's spell flooded his mind and whispered to those nearby. The most dominate voice, a young farm boy's, pleaded, "No, please no." followed by a loud scream. This voice played over and over as Vuln focused on it. The crystal continues to loop it's morbid phrase. A never ending cry.

The crystal seemed to... please the knight and he had a large axe forged with the crystal embedded in the head of the black iron head, Gorechild. He wields this axe with him to this day, and the cries of the young boy still echo out of the crystal.

    OOC:

    Name- Gorechild

    Type- Bastard Bearded Axe

Material- Black Iron base, leather wrapped handle, single blood crystal

Role-play Effects- The gem whispers "No, please no." followed by a scream of pain. This loops every few seconds.

    Mechanical Effects- None

Extra Info- I have role-played with this axe for a while now without ever making lore for it. In truth, I started using it before the fringe but never went into detail about its story. I created the part about the crystal, an event that actually happened in RP, being the source of the voice. It used to be RP'd as the ghost of the young boy being bound to the axe. I'm unsure what officially happened to all the blood crystals/shards (Whichever was the tiny one. I forget as this happened months ago) and whether or not this is lore-friendly. That is the real reason I am posting this...

Final Disclaimer- THIS DOES NOT AFFECT MY CHARACTER'S ABILITY IN A PVP OR RP FIGHT. THIS IS JUST AN AXE WITH A MAGIC GEM THAT SAYS OOKY SPOOKY THINGS TO THOSE IN /WHISPER RANGE.

How Long will you be online per week.
Ever since I built my new PC, I'm on it rather frequently. Usually 4 hours a day at a minimum... so 28 hours?

    Experience
Question is confusing. I've been on this server since October of whatever year the server launched... I have never been a Forum Moderator before because this is the first forum where I wasn't too self concious to actually participate in. Though I was an admin on a small 20 person server for a few years.

    Previous Forums
This is my first active forum. On a server that I've been involved with for sometime now.

Why I should be a FM
I should be a Forum Moderator because I want to be able to give back, even if just slightly, to a community that has introduced me into Role-Playing and made me more social online. This server has given me friends that, even though they have long since left the server, I still talk to on a semi-regular basis. To have a true friendship with a person who you'd never have encountered in the real world if it wasn't for some game... is quite a gift.

    Other Info

Out of the server, I am enrolled in a post secondary Computer Information Systems course where I've been learning C++, Cisco Networking, and A+ Computer Hardware repair and support. The reason I added this in, is to show that this isn't my first time using a computer...

I also have a part-time job that currently occupies my time from 5 est to 9 est roughly 3 times a week. But this is a set schedule that rarely varies, so I can plan my Forum Moderating around this with ease.

  19. I wrote this for the RP Writing Contest today, not realizing the contest had already ended. Instead of just throwing it out, I figure I'd get some of the community's feedback. This took my roughly 10 minutes so don't be too harsh ;)

    Ashes to Ashes

    Ashes to Ashes,
    The Old World falls.

    Where the winds carried laughter,
and the seas twinkled with joy.
    Replaced by silence thereafter,
    A daemon to destroy.

With lush green fields to enjoy,
    and the mountains of valor.
Rank and file the dead deploy,
    Born of daemon's squalor.

    Saved not by a scholar,
    The body count will rise.
    Eradicate the iron collar,
On this day the world cries.

    Ashes to Ashes,
    The Old World falls.
  20. Just put a GM team leader, put Gaius? as the Head of Council. Then add all the Nation leaders (Humans, Orcs, Dwarves, Elves, Kha, Halflings, and CT monks.) When a Warclaim is posted, have all the NLs and Council Head vote. Make a post in the Warclaim (Make a seperate account for the Team so people don't OOCly hate anyone. Keeps it anonymous. Have the War Council vote on new War rules (These work great, tbh +1, much like.) Then boom. War problem is solved.

  21. A crimson figure mounts his armored black horse, his horned helmet rises above a mass of dark figures all equally terrifying. He heaves his large two handed battleaxe, Gorechild, high above his head and releases a deep guttered warcry. The Knight of Conquest await the command from the Dread Lord to charge into the battle. The Dread Lord gives the command, then halts the knights, and Christmas cheer consumes them as they turn back, and go mutilate some other town.

ALL IN THE SPIRIT OF THE HOLIDAYS.
  22. Such a shame... I'm working on developing a Highlander culture that would have clashed with Snow Elves (Since both would be low in number). I was thinking of doing events and stuff. But it's your choice to stay behind. I never really encountered the Snow Elves, but I hope you're not dying off because of OOC hate.
