I was salty before but now that I find out that there's some 20 characters apparently that're being told 'you can't play your character' now, y'all are jerks. What's better is you don't have the ability to say it to their faces, either? You just make a super passive-aggressive post on the forums for ~positivity~? This is subtweeting taken to a whole new level of immaturity.
1) No, they can't have their monk magic. They can still play their character.
2) This isn't passive aggressive. It was known that AT would be getting Monks before the community even knew. We didn't just want to remove them outright.
3) We believe the AT will effectively be able to fulfil the original purpose of monks better.
Honestly, my opinion is the player monks didn't feel like monks. The we're more like dudes with their own circle jerk magic, it didn't seem like they fulfilled any sort of RP agenda. Most of the time rping elsewhere doing other things. Which is cool and all but you don't need to be a monk to do it.
Also, if you feel that not being a monk ruins your RP you could become a cleric, or a Druid.
1. Predictable, the LMs have been trying to take that since Asulon.
2. It's extremely passive aggressive. Let's pretend this is all ~fun~ when we're eliminating a player group.
3. You're wrong. The AT have tried this role no less than three times, and each time they've failed swimmingly. I would know: I was the leader of the organization for one of these times.
Just because they didn't /feel/ like your view of monks doesn't mean it's okay to just nuke their group.

Okay but actually though this is very possibly one of the more moronic things I've possibly come back to see, whenever I check in for no particular reason. You not only killed a group for no real reason, but you also implemented a system that has failed not once, not twice, but at least three times of 'guides' or 'mentors' or whatever you want to call it.
To top it off, you tell players not to try and RP with these Mentor 2.0s. Talk about an RPG.

MC name: Lita/EscharianCharacter's name and age: Lucian Goldmoon | 574Character’s Race: Mali'aheralLink to your accepted magic application: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/129658-monkma-lucian-goldmoon/What magics do you desire to teach?: Monk.Summarize the Lore of this Magic: Monk magic is a form of energy manipulation utilizing the soul. It provides a blueprint, which the body is then reconstructed around.Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student. (Do note, we will be contacting aspiring teachers for a quick interview, to try to better gauge your knowledge and understanding): I would instruct said student to formulate a proper prayer to their chosen Triumvirate, presuming they've already received their vision of which they will hold as patron. Following that, I will insist that they attempt the prayer while trying to draw guidance and power from the patron, in order to heal a cut Lucian would likely inflict upon himself for the student's practice. As a note, I was accepted under the old system, found here: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/100011-lucians-teaching-application/0

Resmira claps her hands together, reading over the new laws, "Well! I commend them in coming closer to perfection, however... this is hardly original."

While you have a point, my counter is that things only happen when the community throws a fit in unison. Otherwise it's just about ignored entirely. Perhaps the concern is not with people 'acting like children', but with the staff acting like parents and dictating what is best for the community, rather than having conversations about it.
