    Basic Map of North-Western Anthos

    -by Wookir Morril

In my travels around Anthos since arriving, I have recorded my observations using a color kit I brought on board the ship.  These observations I have assembled into a basic map of everywhere that I have traveled.  You are free to copy it and use it in your own journeys.

I cannot guarantee the accuracy of any portion of this map, as many parts are only impressions of what I saw.  The contour lines that represent mountains do not adequately show their steepness.  Mortal-made structures besides roads have not been included at all, as this map is only of the natural world.  The gray portions represent the areas that I have no knowledge of.

Having expended most of my ink in making this, I do hope it assists others sufficiently.

  2. I believe economic development is very important, but that will never happen very much with our general store if we do not let others readily into our base, or advertise the store by the gate and elsewhere. Maybe the owner of the shop could work on publicity like this?

Also, I have been considering how to sell what goods. Food is something we can make fairly easily, but selling something like that all depends on location. If we sell in an area where people tend to be well stocked, we won't be successful at all. I propose that we make a test stand in Salvus, where someone can go occasionally and peddle food. Hopefully, we can get permission to set up the stand only when it is needed, to prevent clutter.

The elven camp near the cloud temple may be a good location to sell people food before they travel back to Elandriel. Maybe we could get into courier jobs? Carrying supplies long distances may be a service that is needed in the more trade heavy nations.

I would also like a list displaying our relationships with the various nations, such as our state of alliance and whatnot.

  3. *sent by bird to the Order*

    Mc name- Wookieguy

    Ic name- Wookir Turril

Do you have a villain application- No

What will you contribute to the guild- Since I am a farmer, I shall supply the group with all the produce they may need, along with any other plants I may raise for the benefit of the Ravens, and Asulon.

Do you agree to follow and obey the rules?- I do agree to follow the rules

What previous Experience do you have?- I have farmed for a fair portion of my life, and have trained a minor amount in sword craft. I currently am living a menial life, simply surviving plentifully, which I would love to change. Making a positive difference in this land would be a wonderful pastime, and a fulfillment of my talents.

What have you done to promote the ideals of Aeriel?- I have never leaned to violence in my dealings, and have a natural tendency for peace. I am not a war hungry man or orc, and am more mature than some dwarf could hope to be. I am a simple elf, and that spirit should be spread about more! I am not very knowledgeable about Aeriel, and would seek guidance and teaching about her.

Once in the guild, what branch will you belong to?- I shall be a part of the regular order, which in my reading seems like the only, and logical choice. I hope I have not misunderstood something.

What is your level in the skill the branch uses (for merchants write N/A) - Farming: Level 72

Have you signed our charter?- No, because it looked like the required signatures where fulfilled, and I could not figure out how.

  4. *stuck to a tree near the message board in Elandreil*

Fellow elves, we have a serious issue in the Elandriel area. There is a band of marauders, primarily orc from my personal experience, that is terrorizing our land. I personally, was held up for money while in the elven wilderness, by a band of orcs and one elf. I heard a story of an elf being killed by one, and of a village being raided.

Does anyone in this city have information on this band, and ideas/actions that are being taken to stop them?

    Your humble farmer,

    Wookir Turril

((I heard a report of them Meta gaming the PvP aspect, but I need to read up on the rules to confirm this. Either way, we need to be careful that these raids are fun and not annoying. ))

  5. *tacked to a tree in the Elven Capital*

I vote that the elves settle the Cloud Forest in the best way possible, and create their own village in the region. This village does not have to be initially officiated, but an evolution.

Please scratch the bark here if you agree, or leave your own opinions.

I, Wookir Turril, am currently selling melon slices in 32 piece bundles to anyone who wishes to purchase them! Currently, these bundles cost 40 minas each, but haggling and material trading is welcome! I will even do contract work, for I am always taking in crop from my plentiful field. Fresh from my farm in Malinor, these melons will fill your stomach to satisfaction, without the negative health effects of meats and bread.

Because you can more easily regulate your nutrition with melon slices, you can know that you are never wasting food and precious minas on overeating. Not to mention the scrumptious taste!

Send a message to my farm outside of the Laurelin west gate ((PM me or post here)) if you are interested in my produce services.

    May you never hunger,

    Wookir Turril

    Farmer

    Minecraft Account Name: Wookieguy

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?: No

    How old are you?: 15

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: CMT, Texas USA

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Indeed

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a home-schooled kid who enjoys creative activities, which surely fits Minecraft and RP. They go so naturally together, that I just had to try. I used to play on the Minecraft server "Tales of Mel-Lexia".

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 6-10, more on a very good week.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is using your imagination to pretend you are someone else: to become a character. Everything you think becomes that character when RPing: imagination in a way that few partake in.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming is using OOC knowledge as a player, to affect your character in game in an unrealistic way. Powergaming is to have your character do something that is not logically feasible, to reach your own goals as player.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect a group of mature people, roleplaying together for fun. I expect there to be many players online at once who I may interact with, and that I can really focus on RP while online.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Tales of Mel-Lenxia: Admins were not able to keep the RP/server development together.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes

How did you hear about us?: Another player (Falco8513)

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?

    Yes, number 3,679

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Wookieguy

    In-Character:

    Character Name: Wookir Turril

    What is your Race?: Elf

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Wookir was born in a home high in the trees of Old Laurelin, and was trained by his father in the family business of potion brewing. (A brewing accident is what caused Wookir's unusual brown hair) Wookir quickly found that he was most proficient at raising the melons and sugarcane required for the potions, and he spent long hours out in the family garden tending to the plants.

Unfortunately, both of Wookir's parents were afflicted with a rare hereditary lung disease that required costly treatments to keep in check. This left no money for repairs on the house, which eventually fell into a sorry condition. One windy night, the rotting wood structures that held their home in the trees finally gave way, sending the entire potion shop and garden side falling to the ground below in an unsalvageable mess.

Mr. Turril was able to find a temporary job, but not nearly enough to pay for the regular treatments they so badly needed. As Wookir's parents were seeing the doctor less and less, their coughing and sickly nature was increasingly more evident to the rest of Laurelin. People would walk on the other side of he street, whisper behind their backs, and even so far as not to serve them at restaurants. Elves are not supposed to be sickly or unhealthy, and to be such was apparently seen as a major flaw in quality.

Rather this is simply how Wookir wrongly perceived it, or the actual opinion of the elves, he desired to leave Laurelin in any way he could. Upon hearing of a secluded property available in the distant mountain country, he sold the family home and brought his parents into the mountains to live. Their condition improved dramatically with the fresh mountain air, and soon the family was able to sustain itself and live rather happily on the secluded mountain top.

After living like this for ten years, Wookir's father decided that his boy was not living up to his full potential in such a lonely place, and told him to return to Malinor to seek a better, richer life. Out of respect of his father, Wookir left, but not without anger and bitterness towards his destination. Sent back to the very place that didn't want them, that kicked his family out? Those foul people that shunned any mention of "different" or "needy"?

If you see a short, brown haired elf around age 50, with a look of distain towards the very trees elves are raised in, show him a little love, would you? Wookir Turril could use all the kindness he can get, for who knows? Maybe he can learn to love the beautiful land of the elves once more.

Your characters ambitions: Wookir simply wants to be accepted by society, and to be allowed to decide his own destiny. He has a love for farming, and tending to growing things, but his years in the mountains taught him to hunt and cook: a useful skill for someone who has so little.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

*Wookir walks closer with caution, attempting to see the motives of this attack*

*He straightens his back, and goes into a running gait, leaping out from the forest and yelling in a victorious voice:*

Men, I found the criminals over here! Marone, Johnathan, Castor, take them from that side!

*Wookir gestures to imaginary soldiers behind the tree as the bandits look to each other in fear*

    Shaston, Xavier, draw your bows!

*Wookir charges forward, drawing a small blade from his belt, as the bandits run away in fear, forgetting all about who they are attacking*

    Get them boys!

*The elf victim stares in wonder and fear as Wookir approaches, looking all the more fierce as a mighty warrior*

I am not with them!, the elf screeches.

*Wookir relaxes his shoulders, slumping back to his normal posture and sheathing his knife*

There are no other men, just me.

*Wookir runs his hand though his hair and sighs*

Kind of a let down, I know.

*He slowly starts to walk in the other direction, muttering*

That has never worked before… why couldn't I have saved an orc, or someone worth while...

Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

*Wookir puts his hands behind his back and sighs*

I am afraid a great many things I could use help with.. but very few you can assist.

*He leans over the counter, looking about slowly*

I suppose I could take a look, yes, tell me what I can get for under 50 Minas.

    Other Information:

Sorry for some sloppy formatting in there, and some maybe less poetic writing than I should create: I'm just a bit tired at the time of this writing. My last character outline was a richer read, but my creative juices are a little dry after that. Also, I am crunched for time with some site development things, so I just wanted to get this over with so I can relax on the server: having some great RP.

    How old are you?: 15

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: CST, Texas, USA

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a homeschooled kid that is quite enthused about Minecraft and Roleplaying, which surprisingly work together very well. I enjoy using my imagination in creative/social ways, which makes building, writing, and talking in a Roleplay environment thrilling for me.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 10-16 hours, usually at night

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.: Roleplaying is being another person, and totally immersing yourself in that character. His/her hopes and ambitions become yours, their mind is your mind. You must think as they would. It is a thrilling adventure into a world which you are not in, from perspectives you have never had. In a very basic term: mature imagination.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming is a dangerous tool for roleplayers. While it can be used to the advantage of everyone's enjoyment, it is most often referenced as the act of manipulating your character's actions according to what you as a player knows, in an unrealistic and abusive way. To use good Metagaming is to make sure "fate" takes your character to places that will be interesting to you as a player and that will let you and those around you have fun, because of the path your character happens to take.

Bad Metagaming is to make your character say/do something that makes no logical sense according to his current state. Such as claiming he saw someone steal an item from a store shelf, when there was no previous agreement of the event. Of course, if those players agreed upon the event OOC, as a fun plot device, it is usually acceptable.

Metagaming is also a quality of an overpowered character, who is able to do things that are unfair to other players.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect to find a large player base of mature Roleplayers, who will play out their characters realistically and responsibly.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: Tales of Mel-Lenxia, which simply ran out of Administrator attention, so the RP was not able to be maintained in the required fashion.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes

How did you hear about us?: From a friend on this server (Falco8513)

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you? Yes: 3,679 if I am correct... which I am not positive I am.

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?: Wookieguy

    In-Character:

    Character Name: Wookir Turril

    What is your Race?: Elf

Biography : Who am I? Oh, how I dream of the day when I shall be asking that to you... None the less, as I have already so generously stated my name, I shall proceed to tell of my glorious past. I was raised by a loving mother and strong, albeit absent, father in the trees of Laurelin. I do suppose it was my father's side of the family who gave me my brown hair, though none on that side had it to the extreme as I. A sign of my high birth and glorious future I assume. Well, there is rumor that my head was tainted with a spilled potion while I was young... but that may be factually inaccurate. My parents taught me the ways of the forest and of life, as any good parents should, until I left the house at the perfect age of 20. Well, I admit it may not have been so perfect, as my parents were quite forceful of me leaving... but I digress.

I decided that a good course of action would be to learn the skill of self sustenance, which led me to be trained in the art of farming by a dear friend of the family. I spent the next 15 years working a field on the edge of the sea, and selling the produce to a young man who came by every few months with supplies I could not create myself. Come to think of it, I never did know that man's name...

After bringing myself to such a natural level of happiness, I decided to become a writer, to document my extraordinary life. I wrote a book within the first two years of this decision, which sold out immediately! Oh, um, I apologize for that factual oversight. I only sold ten copies, but I am sure the Devine will use them to a glorious purpose! After such results of my work, I make another very pivotal decision: I would have to travel the world and learn from elsewhere to teach others about the world. This came after much pondering of myself, where I cam to the conclusion that my mind was not fully ready for the... pardon me, this is not what you asked to hear, I do apologize for your ignorance.

I am currently on the venture to see the world, and make contact with other creatures of my own kind. Being that I have had experience with approximately ten other elves in my life, I should be quite fluent in social graces! Well, I did have little choice because of my farm being washed into the sea... but such things are not to be dwelled upon by mortals! Oh no, we shall go hither into the world, and seek new fortune and glory to be told upon the un-countable tomes of time! Yes yes, now, you wouldn't happen to have a loaf of bread on hand, would you? My body seems to be without nourishment, and my sack without supply...

Your characters ambitions: I wish to be known across the world as one who was successful in life, living the way that only the Divine could match! Of course, such lofty goals are only dreams in the eyes of mortal creatures, because we have only the near future to look to in our plane. My current goals would to at least create a sustainable living experience, and to create another novel to spread the wisdom that is me to the ignorant of the land!

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Sirs, I do wonder why you would be committing such acts against a fellow here... Oh my, you didn't have to do that... I do beseech you, unhand him! Do not worry sir, I shall obtain assistance in the next village, if only you would hold... Oh, now? Hmm, I do not normally perform in combat such as this... run and get the guards? Yes, I shall sir, good elf, you are wise... Yes yes! I am going! I see no reason to yell for such mortal conditions such as this, by the Divine! No need to be pushy, silly creatures...

Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

Help me? You wish to assist me? I should be thinking that you would be the one seeking my guidance in such a place... Oh, I see, you seek knowledge as to the condition of my need of material goods? Very well, I do think I could do to look at some of your wares, possibly I could even reimburse you for my receiving your items.

A screenshot of your skin: http://imgur.com/4AXA0 (I hope to add more original clothing later)

Other Information: My character is a bit arrogant by nature, so do not be alarmed if it sounds like he is attempting to sound very superior and wise: which would be very much a lie. He has great aspirations, but is very much clueless in social graces and the general pattern of life. Sort of like the over-protected child, except that he inflicted the condition upon himself.
