  1. The Great Fall

    Year, 1642

    Month, Unknown

    Day, Unknown

The old and frail Gorum Frostbeard returned home one day on a very cold and stormy night. Right off the bat he noticed that his door was unlocked, which wasn't too unusual since he housed many homeless Dwarves thanks to Psycho's Homeless Shelter Services. But deep down he knew something was very wrong. He slowly made his way down to his storage where he kept the secret gems that he received from the Gods thanks to Psycho Strongbrow's hand in sacrificing edgy magic users.

He slowly opened his chest, only to see...

Nothing. It was gone. All gone. He knew the true Gods had found his evil sacrificial stash, it was all over for him. Almost instantly the ground began to shake, the God Hawk Eye himself busted through Gorum's humble home. The ancient God shackled the old and frail Dwarf to the ground before sentencing him to a gruesome fate, an eternity in chains. Gorum stared at the ancient God, accepting his fate. The God then threw Gorum down the eternity stairs, dooming him to fall forever. This was Gorum's greatest fall yet.

Just like that, the old Dwarf was gone. The tale of Gorum Frostbeard had come to an end. A note could be found on his desk surrounded by rubble.

"Most Dwarves die young. I grew old enough to see myself swimming in a sea of gold, climbing mountains of iron, and running through fields of diamonds."

  2. Shuggie is one of those people who doesn't even need ET Pex to create fun situations, which is very rare on lotc since most people are too selfish and too afraid to 'lose'. Giving him a shot at actor will only add onto his already existing ability to create fun and spontaneous events.

  3. Just now, NotEvilAtAll said:

With the current animal drop rates I personally feel that it's a bit too easy to get meat.

This nerf to animal breeding seems kinda justified from my perspective.

I think the increased drop rates were associated with nexus. I haven't played vanilla in literally years but I think you only get like 1-3 pieces of meat per cow.

  4. As a former ET I can confidently say that Algoda would prove to be an invaluable member of the event team. Whenever I was in the process of setting up an event, he would be one of the first to offer his assistance and even go as far as building a mini event site for me despite the fact that he wasn't an ET builder. Someone who is this dedicated to providing others with an enjoyable experience should be given a chance at doing it on a much larger scale. In addition to this, back when I was a new player in 2011/2012 he was one of the senior members of the server that would always strive to provide great roleplaying experiences for the newer players at the time.

He is a great builder, especially when it comes to terrain and landscapes. He is doing amazing work on the current Dwarven 6.0 build and is also responsible for landscaping on the official 6.0 map itself.

  5. Gorum shakes his head upon reading the scroll before setting it down, preparing to send a messenger to Azkel in response.

"This is not about power. The Frostbeards were comfortable in Jornheim, Azkel. Kerwyr was tempted by those who were incapable of uniting the Dwed themselves , a temptation most Dwed cannot resist... as is our curse. That does not change the fact that Kerwyr is our blood, as are you. This practice of banishment that you young lads seem to turn to is foolish, you cannot erase the blood that flows through your veins. The rest of the Frostbeards will not be joining your cause Azkel. Even if you are correct, even if you speak the truth. We understand the importance of family, we are prepared to fall and be remembered as scum if it is for the sake of the blood that binds us. You speak of true Frostbeards, yet you do not know or hold any of our values. The Frostbeard rebellion in Vailor wasn't the first time our kin separated from the Dwed, this dispute dates as far back as Asulon, when the Dwed were ruled by a corrupt and vile Kingdom crawling with slavery and banditry. The Frostbeards stuck together, despite the entire Kingdom seeking to kill us. The few of us that survived did not fear the odds, we did not abandon each other. Those Frostbeards were true Frostbeards, as are those who stick together and are willing to die for family now, right or wrong. Remember that Azkel. If you truly wish to honour my younger brother, your father, then remember what makes a Frostbeard true.

The symbol that you use, the hammer forged into the mountain peaks.  Let me clarify what it means. That symbol was forged in Asulon by Frostbeard smiths, and we have been carrying it since. It represents the hold of New Jornheim, located in the lands of Alras. That hold represented family, blood, and the importance of standing by kin. The symbol was forged at a time when Gimrik the foul was hunting us down like dogs. It unified us, reminded us what it meant to be a true Frostbeard, and therefore became the clan sigil in the following years. This is my statement to both you and Oyvind, Azkel. You may continue to brand us traitors, as is your right, but out of respect for the clan do not create this new false image of a true Frostbeard that you seem to justify with Rhewen's name."

  6. 19th of The Amber Cold, 1606

A small cryptic note is pinned to the railings of Kal'Omith's throne room bridge.

"Flickering, weaving under the spell it was sparked into. A shrieking ray of melting gas purges out of the flames capturing heat. It is said that even the strongest of stones were still illuminated into molten when in communion with such a harmful object of division; like a great famished beast devouring everything in its path and belching out black smoke. Only the purest could make its identity out as courage and a sound mind. The flames hold the power to give anyone a harness of strong armies, but also the hope of a new beginning. Yellow, red and orange. The colours of autumn; yet can autumn cause so much destruction. The Brathmordakin are the keepers of the flame, and so I submit my will to them. I am entranced by its beautiful depths and destructive glow. A molten tomb, or a new beginning. A light once blue; now yelllow, red and orange. Salvation."

A runic axe emanating frost sits on the ledge next to the note.

  7. ~The First Tournament of Kal’Omith~

(Saturday April 8th, 4:00 PM EST)

A young Dwed stands in the center of the city, reading out of a large scroll.

“The tournament is underway. Lads and lassies from near and far have signed up to compete, and preparations are complete. Due to some minor disturbances this past year (server being down), the tournament has been postponed. However, it brings me joy to say the tournament will now commence exactly one stone year from the previous tournament. ((Saturday April 8th, 4:00 PM EST)). That being said, I myself will no longer be hosting the tournament. The current Grand Champion himself, Morug Goldhand, has decided to host this tournament in my place. Good luck to all participants, may Yemekar guide you.”
