  1. I've been gone since early October or so and have decided to return for the summer. Obviously, I've missed a lot in those nine months of absence. I was wondering if somebody could give me a tl;dr on the major events. Maybe like a paragraph for each race? I've been busy rowing and taking AP classes. Just came home from camp, and the week before it, Nationals. Even though it was a long journey and I missed you guys, it was worth it in the end.

  2. Application Form

    MC Name: spiritoftheram

    Desired Character’s Name: Eshkan'Makwa

Race: I'll ask emerald when he is on skype, but I think human.

Skype Username (Highly Recommended): You have it, but it is spiritoftheram

Relation to Others in the Tribe (must have permission from existing character. This is optional): Emeraldstag, aka Eshkan'Ishtar. Blood relation (brothers).

Amount of time played each day: Depends on when I get home from the river on weekdays but at least an hour after this week. Weekends, it will vary, but at least three.

    Time Zone: EST

  3. I do not believe that restricting the items that a character can make is a good idea. Firstly, if you restrict the types of items that you can craft, based on levels, you will find a good number of people grinding to get their levels higher. This will happen, just look at what some of the elven farmers, including me, would do in Aluson. We would grind on the low levels crops, such as wheat, and would only log on to collect them to get more levels. Then we would move on to the higher levels crops, like melons. This would also usually prevent people from having multiple different characters. For example, a dwarven blacksmith and an elven farmer. Both require at least two sets of skills, if not more. Without class restricitions, this would be possible. Otherwise, it would never work.

  4. Heh, I've never seen something like this in action on this server.

Try it out, that sounds really fun. I'm all for it. I would like to see this mostly because it hasn't been done before.

As for the new island, it's about time. :D

I miss the action that I had seen on some other servers before, and was wishing for something like this the other day.

Since it's just a little temp map, I'm all for it! :)

Maybe if the community likes this danger zone in the center and it goes smoothly, it can be something in 3.0, but if it fails, then it obviously won't be. Why not give it a chance? It's not like temp-map items matter anyway, they'll get deleted when we go to 3.0

Exactly. Temp maps are great for this, we can just enjoy an experiment on this.

Remember, this is kinda'a temp map, and therefore a perfect place to hold an experiment! If it does not work, KILL IT WITH FIRE within the first few days, heck hours. If it does... well that will be another topic.

  6. Honestly the mob drops could be a few minas (5-6) and not kill the economy later on. This would allow for a much more realistic economy, as king as merchant prices aren't ridiculous like 15 minas for a loaf of bread. At first, inflation may occur, but make it worthwhile to protect something from monsters. I remember when we had the mob drops in Aluson, I was a farmer with archery skills that would have to clear some mobs to make it safe to harvest. Even with the higher mob drops back then, it was still hard to just live on that. I was just fine with my salary. I would like them to be 5-6 rather than 1-3, which I believe is too low. Of course, inflation is a normal part of economy. It will happen eventually, regardless of the mob drops.

On a different note, how will the kingdoms get minas? If it is through taxes, we will need the mob drops at my proposed rate to begin the economy. If it works, then keep it. If not, just change it.

  7. Okay. This update is irrelevant to me because there's nothing worth buying. Mining is not profitable, there's no red-stone to be had, and not a diamond to be found on this island. But that's just me feel free to disagree at any time.

Currently it does not add a ton with just the mobs but with the kingdoms they could exchange some items to the GMs for money and have it be role played as they selling then to a different island. This could start the economy going and allow salaries to be paid. Also, back then they would use iron much more than they would use crystal, even in a fantasy world like this.

  8. I think we should leave Elysium and go to the new island, if we where to link up fast travels it would spread out RP.

I agree with this. In Aluson, the rp was really spread out and even in Normandor, a capital, there wasn't that much rp. I like the centralization in Elysium.
