  1. I do believe this should be removed because it isn't about Lotc and it simply looks unprofessional and might confuse people looking at the Lotc channel. (I feel like the fun police, but it just doesn't seem to be the place for it.)

  2. I worry about the spread of RP, but if all the nations moved over, so that Elysium became a non-man's land for a time I would be okay with it. However if we do have a new island, I would love to see less manors and more tents and wooden huts etc, perhaps OOC guidelines need to be created?

  3. Maehrir see the note and smiles a bit. She carefully pulls out a rough piece of paper and scribes the following note.*

I, Maehrir Lirrame, seek work as a farmer. I have a vast amount of experience with this and would appreciate it greatly if I was allowed to help out Malinor in this capacity.

    * Maehrir walks to the house of the Prince and tacks the note near the door. *

Is it okay to do this through the forums? If it is not I can do it ingame.

  4. I personally think that part of the problem was that Elysium was designed (with the volcanoes and whatnot) as a location for an event. It seemed to me that the GMs had this idea that everyone would stay nearby to the boas and create temporary tents and the like (correc me if I am wrong, this is just my impression). However it seems to me the players used Elysium in a different way, and tried to really settle it. I personally think that for the next island a main decision has to be wether it will be a place that can be settled for a a while (ie settlements are created) or wether the island should be more temporary and event-based.

  5. Personally I think it would help the economy to have some crafting restrictions ie everyone would be able to craft armor up to iron but diamond would require a smith. However these categories should be pretty large, not super specific so even there are only 4-5 people in an area everything can get done. P

    1. Smith: able to make diamond armor and tools

    2. Miner: Able to mine diamonds

    3. Farmer: Able to grow potatoes and carrots

    4. Weapons Master: Able to wield a diamond weapon, for bowmen perhaps the bows they make have power 1

Buffs to certain areas can also be used to promote an economy without restricting things to much.

However I think the best thing is to limit resources somewhat, for example if you live in the desert you cannot grow trees RPly and dong so would be considered breaking lore.

  6. No way to the first option. With the previous skill plugin, which was less restrictive than what is proposed, their was far less RP because people were sitting alone making items rather than RPing. I think that a system where everyone got base level or just below base level skills is the way to go, with professions adding bonuses. That being said, I would like to see resources limited (ie certain crops can only be RPly grown in certain areas, bonemeal not being used) in order to keep a trading economy even with less restrictions.

  7. I think we should have unlimited participants on either side, as long as both agree. It seems funky to have a major battle 5v5. If I read something wrong, don't kill me! icon_redface.gif

I believe that it is that groups of 5 or less don't require OOC consent, but groups of more than that do. I could be wrong as well though.

  8. although I like the new system, the fact is the economy will collapse if their is no money in it. However, giving money to individual players might also cause problems. However nations should be given some minas. Paying people RPly is confusing and could lead to tons of powergaming (Ie "Oh yes, I have a million minas and you cannot prove that I don't). Nations would use this money to pay workers, and it will enter the economy.

  9. This would be really hard to do... but to make a more RP based place, for example a city square in the centre. There could be a few select shops in it, for example an inn of sorts, this would let people, when they're not doing much go to the centre. Just an idea though, an expensive one..

Perhaps this could be implemented in 3.0. In Normandor, everyone seems to just hang around the main gate, it would be great to have a real square.
