HISTORY 

 

The 2nd Regiment of Grenadiers of the Imperial State Army, known colloquially as the Commonwealth Grenadiers or simply as the Grenadiers, serve as the standing military of the Commonwealth of Kaedrin and a division of the Holy Orenian Empire’s armed forces.

 

In the year 1743, by the initiative of Governor-General Richard de Reden, the remnants of the former Royal Army along with the ‘Poor ******* Infantry’ peasant militia were combined in an act of merger that established the 2nd Regiment. The men of Kaedrin, historically known for their steadfastness and sturdiness, were informally dubbed ‘the Grenadiers’ as a unit of specialized shock troops in the service of the Empire. In a natural evolution from the Kaedreni siege engineers of yore, these soldiers, recruited from both the rural highlands of the outer Commonwealth and the metropolitan township of Ves, serve and defend their country in a myriad of different assault operations. 

 

The military ensign of the 2nd Regiment of Grenadiers is the flag of the Commonwealth, in the top left-hand corner, flown atop a field of white. The 2nd Regiment maintains both mounted soldiers and infantry amid its ranks.

 

In line with classical Kaedreni principles, the hardy men of the Commonwealth Grenadiers are inculcated with the principles of human unity and supremacy over perfidious nonhumans, gypsies and pagans. This is best summarized by the unofficial words of the Commonwealth as a whole, the maxim of St Peter, who declared ‘one God, one country and one law’ for humanity.

 

All members of the officer corps of the 2nd Regiment above the rank of ensign are expected to wear their hair in the Kaedreni fashion, powdered, curled and tied in a queue, and wear the tricorne as the symbol of their rank.

TENETS

 

Soldiers of the Regiment must display complete and total loyalty to their superior officers.

Soldiers of the Regiment must never act in a corrupt capacity, nor harm civilians without probable cause or exigent circumstances.

RANKS 

 

Officer Corps 

Colonel

 

The Colonel of the 2nd Regiment serves as its chief commander, of which there can be only one. As a regiment is the largest division of troops within the Imperial State Army, the colonel’s authority over his own troops is absolute, with his station the highest peace-time rank aside from that of the Imperial Fieldmarshal. He can elect, at his own discretion, a singular Lieutenant Colonel, who shares his rank as both an understudy and a right-hand man. 

Captain

 

A captain is the chief of a brigade within the 2nd Regiment, which is the immediate division beneath it. These entities are more specialised and smaller than the entire regiment, with several brigades coming together under the authority of the Colonel. These brigades are also appelated with numerals, however similar to the ‘Commonwealth Grenadiers’, also tend to have relevant nicknames. The Colonel can elect not to divide the 2nd Regiment into brigades, in which case a captain is simply the rank immediately below him. 

 

Lieutenant

 

Similar to the Lieutenant Colonel yet on a lesser scale, a lieutenant is the primary assistant of a captain in their management of a brigade within the 2nd Regiment. Unlike the Lieutenant Colonel, they are considered to technically be a separate rank from a captain. There may only be as many lieutenants as there are captains within the regiment as a whole.

 

Ensign

 

Ensigns are junior officers, frequently recruited from among the noble families of the Empire, who have been awarded their first commission. An ensign is not expressly in command of any particular force within the 2nd Regiment, yet is nonetheless expected to advance his career by showing his superiors his nascent prowess in military command. Accordingly, ensigns are often tasked with duties that require a low level of commanding authority, including the control of small groups of regulars for special assignments of miscellaneous administrative work. To be awarded a commission as an ensign is representative of an entry into officership, and the beginning of one’s rise through the ranks. 

 

Regulars 

Sergeant

 

Sergeants tend to be the oldest and most experienced soldiers who have not pursued a commission. Well versed in unit tactics, drill and dress, sergeants are never seen without their drill cane with which unruly privates can be kept in line. Sergeants rely on orders from commissioned officers and distribute them throughout the troops, keeping form and order on the battlefield.

 

Corporal

 

Corporals are thoroughly experienced soldiers who have completed a term of no less than two years in service. Chosen from those most experienced privates and having a good deal of battle experience, corporals are expected to organize privates and recruits to follow the orders of their sergeants and officers. 

 

Private

 

Privates of the regiment consists of men elevated from the rank of recruit, having passed their training process. The privates of the regiment are expected to carry out all duties assigned to them in an orderly fashion and make up the rank and file of the regiment. Authorized fully to carry out the Crown’s Justice these loyal grenadiers are commonly seen in groups no less than four with either an non-commissioned officer or commissioned officer close at hand.

 

Recruit

 

Fresh recruits undergo a two-year training process before being oathed and raised to the rank of private. During this time, they are exposed to the rigor and discipline of state military tradition, along with a nascent education in Imperial society and culture. They have not yet formally enlisted into the military, and as a result do not have the right to wear any military regalia.

A STATEMENT FROM THE PROTECTOR GENERAL OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF KAEDRIN:

 

For centuries many militaries have provided their soldiers with the most basic of equipment due to a low budget or incompetent conservators. Often times, levies are simply provided a uniform, a set of armor and some form of deadly weapon so that they might be combat ready at a moment’s notice.

 

However, it has come to the attention of the Army of Kaedrin that, ultimately, should a fighting force be delegated to the role of peacekeepers in addition to combat ready fighters, that the basic equipment provided to the levies of humanity will not suffice.

 

It is for this reason that the Army of Kaedrin shall be the first to publicize its newly acquired, standard-issue equipment to both reassure the common people and inspire other militaries to adapt to a modern setting.

The Kaedreni Service Polearm: Varying dependent on the troop’s personal preference, it is expected that each soldier in the Army of Kaedrin be equipped with some sort of medium-ranged polearm. These weapons include Halberds, Pole-hammers, Pole-axes, Spears, Hastae, etc. Assigned to Primus and lower. Weight: Varies

 

The Kaedreni Service Arming Sword: A short ranged steel blade with the intent as acting as a secondary weapon should opponents get within the range of the service polearm. Weight: 2.5 lbs.

 

The Kaedreni Service Baton: A 28 inch ash Baton coated with a burgundy hue, the Service Baton serves to provide a non-lethal alternative when neutralizing belligerents. Weight 1.8 Lbs.

 

The Kaedreni Service Mask: A cloth face masks designed to aid troops in when passing through smoke, toxically odorous areas and/or poisonous attacks. Weight: N/A.

 

The Kaedreni Service Mattock: A standard issue steel tool with a stout head and either a spike for mining or an axe-head for chopping, utilized to construct trenches and clear terrain swiftly and efficiently. Weight 4.4lbs.

 

The Kaedreni Service Scutum: A square shield with mild curve used to be used for testudo or phalanx infantry formations when engaged in march towards the enemy. Assigned to Ensign and higher. Weight: 22 lbs.

 

The Kaedreni Service Rucksack: A study leather sack designed to efficiently aid in the transportation of standard issued equipment whilst on patrol or active duty. Weight: N/A.

 

The Kaedreni Service Crossbow: A light lever operated crossbow reloaded by the pulling of the crossbow’s string back into its firing mechanism. Weight: 10 lbs.

THE SKIRMISH OF THE BURNING HILLS

Nightfall, and yet nothing was silent. The twilight of the darkness which was to plaster a silvery lilac hue over the world was disrupted by the brazen flame of combat. To the men in those hills, slumber could only be acquired through victory or, eternally, through defeat.

 

To the men of Kaedrin, this night was a night like many others. For days they had been engaged in a war of attrition with the vile pests who decided to infest their home. ‘Ratmen’ as they would be known to outsiders, or ‘Henry’s Kin’ to the warriors clad in White and Crimson had infested Ves before and were routed, hopefully never to be seen again. Yet, it twas Commodus’ honey farm, pillaged and scorned by putrid teeth and nefarious plots that enabled the men of Kaedrin to know that the job was incomplete.

 

To the North-East, the Ratmen had constructed a fortification which probed the icy waters. They had confiscated a boat, armed with a steam-weapon of sorts - powerful enough to blow a man’s head clean off with a proper blast. It was the duty of the Kaedrenis to evict these creatures from the dust, and so the battle raged.

 

 

As quickly as Ballistae were erected, they were scorched by the hordes of rodents. Attacking from all sides, and using their vast tunnel systems, they managed to outflank Kaedrin’s heros and put them on the defensive. Moltovs were flung back and forth, both sides facing the wrath of flame. Yet, still, Kaedrin held firm, maintaining their trench positions despite the wounds taken in rear flanks. Volleys of bolts flung from either side, many Kaedreni auxiliary being hit, but even more rats. The wounded cried in pain, and were hauled to the medical tents which too faced fire. It was a miracle that the medicae were not harmed in the chaos. Perhaps it was a blessing from the exalted Owyn himself from the Seven Skies.

 

By dawn, regiments worth of carcasses littered the hillsides. Some were gored, some were scorched, and some were munched upon during the battle. Yet, as if by divine providence, the sun rose. The lines of Kaedrin held firm and now that the battlefield had become illuminated from the dark, the rodents retreated back into their caves where they could plot their next scheme. Kaedrin had won this day, and this bout of King of the Hill, but there would still be more strife to come.

BELOVED KAEDRENI AND FELLOW IMPERIALS,

 

His Majesty, King Adrian I of House Helvets, King of Kaedrin and the Rhoswenii, has deemed it fit to celebrate the reunification of the Rhoswenii houses and the re-establishment of the Commonwealth of Kaedrin. Thus, in order to celebrate, as planned by the Governor General, all beings of sentient and pious description are invited to attend the Rhoswenii ball.

 

The Rhoswenii ball, albeit initially appearing to contradict the martial lifestyle of Kaedrin, is intended to celebrate and educate those who are uninformed about Kaedreni culture through activities, celebration and jubilance. After all, the Rhoswenii are no strangers to festivities for it was the late Saint Peter who honored such celebrations in the form of the historic Imperial House Party.

 

From Noon until Dusk (3PM EST - 5 EST) there shall be a festival located within the heart of Ves where numerous activities and contests will be held. From Dusk until Dawn (5 EST - 7 EST) the official Rhoswenii ball shall take place within the Assembly Hall at the back of the city, where merriment, drinks and drama shall plentiful.

 

It is encouraged for attendees to bring a date, though, it should be noted that immoral practices such as miscegenation and homosexuality will not be tolerated on the premises.

THE ACTIVITIES

The Dress of Roses

The Kingdom of Kaedrin has deemed it fit to award maidens from about the Empire should they sew a dress honoring the Rhoswhenii tradition through the use of rose floral patterns or concepts. The winner shall be awarded 1,000 Minae for the best dress and, should the winner wish, an additional amount shall be offered to purchase said dress for  the Queen of Kaedrin.

 

Public Entertainment and Contests

A plethora of entertainers shall be present at the festivities as a means to entertain the crowd and to provide interactivity with it. Jesters who’ve mastered the art of sword-swallowing, fire-breathing and juggling shall put on shows. 

 

Additionally, gladiatorial events in the city’s pit shall be present between men and exotic beasts. There shall be a general melee in the center of the Ves in which the winner of the combat tournament will receive the title of ‘Champion of Kaedrin’ and 500 Minae. 

 

A contest shall be held publicly upon the stage of the Jolly Boar in which Bards will compete with their finest poems in the form of Southeron ‘Rapping’. The object is to insult one another for the crowd’s enjoyment, the winner being awarded a life-time supply of drinks at the Jolly Boar Inn.

 

At the center of the city shall be a blade wedged in stone. Deemed the authentic blade of BLESSED Jack Rovin, whoever pulls the blade from its stone shall be awarded the blade in addition to an authentic Lucienist signet ring. It should be noted that each pull attempt will cost 25 minae.

 

Throughout the day, the Barb and the Bee shall be competing for the most customers. A moderator verify the purchase ledgers of both taverns and the winner will be afforded the right to egg the other’s property and declare themselves Lord or Lady of Taverns.

 

Lastly, there shall be a contest to determine who the Lord and Lady of Roses shall be for the ball. Attendees will be able to purchase ballots for 10 minae and vote for their respective candidate. Each winner shall receive 75% of their respective pots and be afforded a crown of Roses and be awarded a life-time access to drinks within Ves.

 

RAFFLES

Numerous finance involved games shall be offered throughout the day, including the traditional 50/50 game as well as a general raffle. The Raffle shall award 1,000 Minae with a 50 minae per ticket entrance fee into the raffle. Should a profit be made from ticket sales, the excess minae gained shall be awarded to the winner. Likewise, a second raffle of donations shall be held where the amount of Minae one wins is purely determined by the pot. Each ticket shall cost 20 Minae and the Winner shall receive half the total pot with the Kaedrin Government seizing the other proceeds to allocate towards other festivities.

 

COMMERCE

A plethora of temporary stalls shall be opened about the city’s center in which merchants from about Arcas may purchase to sell their exotic goods for the day’s festivities

RANKING STRUCTURE

SENIOR COMMAND

General

The General of the Kaedreni Army is the supreme head of the Kaedreni armed forces. The General’s authority is unquestionable and should be respected at all times. The General’s duty is to ensure that the best interests of Kaedrin are defended and maintained at all times, forfeiting their pride for the well-being of the Crown and its population. The General is appointed by the King of Kaedrin and is only second to King and the Governor-General. 

 

Commander

The Commander acts as the right-hand to the Marshall, acting as their personal secretary, advisor, and fill in should the Marshal be absent. The Commander is not necessarily expected to be responsible for men, but to ensure that protocol, diplomacy and stability is maintained at all times. The Commander is the head of the Officer Corps and, in battle, the Commander may choose either to maintain martial command or to appoint a Confanonier as the impromptu shot-caller.

 

Confanonier (Captain)

The Confanonier is in charge of all enlisted in their respective division and is expected to ensure that rations, equipment and footlockers are provided to the troops. The Canfononier adopts a de facto commander position while engaged in combat and thus should be listened to unless the Commander or Marshal is present.  The wellbeing of the division is the responsibility of the Caonfanonier and should a division fall behind into laxity or incompetency the Canfononier shall be held responsible. 

 

LOW COMMAND

Decurion

The Decurion is a seasoned officer who is responsible for their respective division, be it the Army or the Caerngard. Generally acting as the focal point for on-the-ground orders, Decurions are expected to lead the men and repeat the commands of superior officers in battle for clarity and efficiency.

 

Ensign

The Ensign is a model soldier who was selected for Officer Corp grooming. Ensigns are expected to receive commands directly from their respective Decurion and undertake them without issue. As part of their training, Ensigns will be given specialized tasks to gauge whether they can adopt a more general command role. Ensigns are forbidden to adopt an elitist attitude to the enlisted.

 

ENLISTED

Primus

The Primus is the elite of the Enlisted. Selected from Man-At-Arms, those who hold the rank of Primus have displayed natural leadership capabilities and devotion to Kaedrin in both Peace and War. Once promoted to Primus, the individual will have the ability to pursue the rank of Ensign for the Army or pursue a transfer into the more specialized Caerngard.

 

Man-At-Arms

The Man-at-Arms is the role-model of the Enlisted. Being the standard rank of Enlisted, the Man-At-Arms is expected to fulfill their duty faithfully in all circumstances, obeying commands and acting rational. The Man-At-Arms is expected to obey every command without hesitation, with critique being provided only in a private setting.

 

Footman

The Footman makes up the bulk of the Army of Kaedrin. Often times relatively new recruits in need of proper conditioning, Footmen are promoted from unoathed following the completion of their first annual tour of service and are selected for more specialized squadron roles. The Footman is expected to obey every command without hesitation, with critique being provided only in a private setting.

 

Unoathed

The Unoathed is an initiate in the Army of Kaedrin who has volunteered themselves/been drafted into service for the wellbeing of Kaedrin. Unoathed undertake a trial tour of service of One Saint’s Week, or one Annum, to determine whether they are reliable enough to continue with training. Unoathed, due to their trial period, do not represent the Army and, should they go awol during their period, the Army shall not be held accountable. The Unoathed is expected to obey every command without hesitation.

The Red Cross is awarded to any member of the Army who has been wounded or killed in any action in the service of Kaedrin.

 

SERVICE MEDAL

Awarded for prolonged service in the Army of Kaedrin (2 Annum).

SILVER CROSS

Awarded to a Soldier who performs to their highest ability consistently.

 

COMBAT MERIT CROSS

Awarded for meritorious actions in combat or times of war.

 

THE WHITE ROSE CROSS

The Highest Honors awarded to a soldier in the Army of Kaedrin. This medal is awarded for distinguished members who have shown the highest form of gallantry, bravery, and exceptional acts.

SECTION I: ABOUT US

The PRIORIST PARTY OF RENATUS is a political organization devoted to capturing the reigns of Government so that it may better serve the interest of the common Imperial citizen.

 

Branching from the tree of Priorist thought and the triad principles of One People, One Nation and One Faith, The Priorist Party remains Nationalist and Devout.

 

However, in recent years, it is believed that the Imperial Government has unwittingly bequeathed an alarming amount of authority to a wealthy Noble class who often attempt to make the Imperial government serve their egotistical interests rather than to maintain the integral spirit of the Imperium. Likewise, those with Nobility, despite having a large amount of ego, tend to have a greatly small amount of competence. One only needs to look towards the disgraced Duke Josip as evidence of such.

 

The Priorist Party values merit above all else and strives to represent the Working class, or der Arbeiterklasse, within the Imperium. The Priorist Party believes in the values of pre-Imperial Renatus, and seeks to encourage those values to flourish once more.

 

As such, members within the ranks of the Priorist Party tend to hold professions within the Military, Private Business or other services. Ultimately, the Priost Party is for the workers of the Imperium - not those who sit upon gilded thrones.

 

SECTION II: MISSION STATEMENT

The Priorist Party seeks to increase the concept of merit and loyalty within the Imperium. For the sake of this initial introduction, the Priorist Party shall set forth three points to its Mission Statement.

 

It is believed that Nobles should not receive officer positions. Rather, those who have shown great dedication to the Organizations which protect the common man should be prioritized over those with catchy names. Additionally, it is believed that the concept of Knighthood has degraded over the years as those with noble titles are instantly afforded Knighthood whilst those proud legionnaires who grind against the hordes of the unknown daily are overlooked purely based on their birth. The Priorist Party seeks to establish Knightly Merit - for how can we look to our commanders for guidance when they themselves had no commanders to inspire them?

 

It is believed that Nobles should not receive legal protection. Within our capital, when Nobles break laws, Imperial Guards cannot perform the task assigned to them: Guarding the People. The reasoning for such is simply the fact that Nobles are protected under Imperial Law and, should a legionnaire attempt to detain them, a vassal crisis ensues and the noble is chosen over the common Legionnaire. The Priorist Party seeks to establish law and order - and, ironically, those who make the laws are most likely to be the ones breaking them.

 

It is believed that many Nobles do not hold the best Interest of the Imperium in their minds. Nobles, like Cladius Bracchus, openly gloat about participating in foreign governments and spreading their economic tendrils to other nations who would, if given the opportunity, see us all perish. Holm is the greatest such bastion of offshore banking and investment, filled with traitorous humans who do not wish to embrace the values of our fair Imperium - yet, they still reap the benefits that Imperial Nobles have given them. The Priorist Party seeks to eliminate foreign influence from our nobility - afterall, how can a Noble be an Imperial if their coin rests cozy in Holm?

 

Ultimately, Renatus is for the Renatian. Renatians should not be subject to having their homes evicted for the sake of Non-Human Migrants. Renatians should not be subject to having to turn their cheek when belligerents insult their culture and spit upon the name of Renatus. Renatians should not be subject to spineless, cowardly and egotistically blown up Noblemen who keep their wealth beyond our borders. And, most importantly, Renatians should not be subject to the desires of non-Renatians.

 

SECTION III: PLATFORM

1.  The Priorist Party seeks to ensure a Greater Renatus for the benefit of the Renatian man.

 

2. The Priorist Party seeks to establish Human-only-Citizenship throughout the Imperium and Human-Only-Membership within the greater Renatian Conglomerate.

 

3. The Priorist Party seeks to ensure that migrants from other races will abide by race-specific laws and regulations different to that of a Human Renatian.

 

4. The Priorist Party seeks to ensure that only citizens of Renatus may vote on matters of a Parliamentary capacity, legislative changes or govermentorial enactments.

 

5. The Priorist Party seeks to establish the grounds for a healthy middle class, through the lessening of powers vested in the lower gentry.

• Enacting a new Knightly protocol which assigns Knighthood to those who have shown merit rather than bloodright.

• Merchants who deal with/from foreign territories shall be tarriffed, with the profits they would have made being redistributed for the public good.

• Regulations on Renatian Merchants shall be lifted so that wealth and prosperity may bolster our working class.

 

7.  The Priorist Party seeks to ensure that the State must protect suitable health standards by:

• Offering protection for mothers and infants

• Preventing children from working in unfavourable conditions or under low income.

• Making a law for compulsory sporting events to help strengthen Renatian tradition.

• Helping to support or create sporting guilds for young men and women.

 

8. The Priorist Party seeks to establish reforms within the Imperial Renatian Legion, as to look after the ordinary Renatian citizen and not solely protect the rich noble class.

 

9. The Priorist Party seeks to establish a law that prevents politicians from being anti-Renatian, and bulletins from writing about them. All pieces of legislation, art or books which support foreign, non-human ideals shall be banned.

When engaged in in the flurry combat or when deeds of great merit are committed, one’s blood becomes moot for, in these scenarios, actions tend outweigh one’s heritage.  Though this concept may be construed and muddled when involving traitorous or criminal lines, it most definitely rings true when it comes to the topic of Bastardry.

 

Bastards, defined as illegitimate offsprings, hold no succession rights nor the prestige of their parental lines within the Imperium Septima. Alternatively, they are prescribed to a Bastard house and, rightfully, are often seen as walking sins and/or mistakes. However, as previously stated, when a Bastard commits good deeds, their actions most definitely outweigh their conception.

 

An example of such can be seen within the Imperial House of Horen. Commodus al Jedih, traditionally known Commodus Jrent, was a bastard born of scandal, conceived by Frederick Victor Horen and Aaliyah Yar. However, despite his illegitimate birth, Commodus Jrent has proven to his Imperial Majesty, time and time again, that he is truly worthy of sharing the blood of Horen.

 

1. Commodus Jrent has proven worthy of legitimization through success, for he has established a name and business for himself independent from that of the Imperial House: Commodus Enterprises.
    
2. Commodus Jrent has proven worthy of legitimization through competence, for he has presented an immeasurable amount of aid to the Imperial Crown via his service as Imperial Chamberlain.
    
3. Commodus Jrent has proven worthy of legitimization through trial, for he has successfully raised hatched an Horenic hippogriff, a tell-tale sign of future greatness.

 

As a result of Commodus’ merit, his Imperial Majesty has deemed it fit and just to elevate the status of Commodus Jrent. Such is not unheard of, for it is tradition within the House of Horen to reward merit above all else. Such is the will of Horen, and of Godfrey.

I'd prefer that someone who has shown on many occasions to be malicious, incompetent and SJWy to not moderate the forums. The staff is already getting a horrendous rep, I honestly don't want it to get worse.

I had to appeal to Telanir regarding community guideline violations and toxic behavior, and I have pledged to combat toxicity as a reformed gamer. As such, through all of my interactions with Imi IRP and OOC she has constantly displayed to me, at least, a constant angle to all her actions. This means she does not do anything without some ulterior motivation.

She was also banned a month ago or so for meta gaming. Whether the ban was justified or not, It showed to me at least that Imi was willing to break the rules to kill someone she did not like. Adding to this, given the power to literally hand out bans in the form of warning points, I do believe Imi would be prone to misusing her power to slight people she dislikes.

Considering I didn't even know you were part of the staff one day ago I do not think it matters one way or another whether you are on the team since you'll practically be unnoticeable and not noteworthy. Likewise, I dislike staff who are indecisive and leave only to come back less than 24 hours later. The fact of the matter is, I don't want someone who 1) Has no noticeable presence and 2) Can't even be committed enough to stay resigned for more than a week to be someone who can decide whether I'm banned or not. -1.

Pius would snicker, wondering if there was even a crowd to preach to in the first place- after all, most Haense soldiers and civilians now don Reiver uniforms and hide in spider holes. He too would simply forward a letter.
 

 

Apple Pie, 1660

It was an odd year, that year of 1660. Renatus-Marna and its allies had destroyed the heretical forces of Norland, and brought Haense to heel in the battle of the Sleeping Swamps.

 

In this year of 1660, some boys become men, and others, unfortunately, ladies. Some had been born, and many more fallen. Yet, still, it was the deeds behind the scenes that were truly noteworthy in the chaos that was the Global Assembly.

 

In the midst of Renatus’s Writ of Exit, the Holy Church of Canon and the Holy Order of Saint Lucien made its way to Curon to present their case against the Global Assembly. In the meeting, her Highness, Linette was shown evidence of necrotism that had plagued the Global Assembly- the severed head of Lotte Baptiste, its chairman. Yet, despite this evidence, Lotte Baptiste was still seen to having walked about freely. It was only rational to make the connection that a man who once dead and now among the living was, in fact, an undead.

 

Thus, the Princess-Regent Linette too agreed to depart from the Global Assembly and evict its compound, opting to destroy it in order to remain faithful and against the undead. And so, they moved. Curonites, Lucienists and even his Holiness converged upon the compound. Its banners were torn down, and the building cleared.

 

Alas, once the congregation reached the office of the dreaded chairman, he, himself, appeared. Veining ignorance, the Church opted to slay the undead swiftly as to not permit any necrotic trickery. And so, he was indeed slain with the simple order “Apple Pie”. Impaled by Holy Ser Heinrich and further put down by Bishop Robert, evil was quelled. And in this quelling of evil, the Global Assembly too, through association, was quelled.

 

 

Bishop Robert emerged from the scene with his battle-brothers, and exclaimed into the streets of Curon: “The evil that was the Global Assembly is dead, and we have killed it!”

 

Let the faithful rejoice this day, for the order of Apple Pie had succeeded in the quelling of this actual global threat. Let all know that those who persist in support of the Global Assembly shall be guilty of Necrotism by association, and they too, shall be purged from the face of our free continent.

A Holy Man’s Perspective of the War and a Prayer to Resolve Haense’s Sin

9th of Sun's Smile, 1658

 

Greetings to all the faithful of Atlas, and especially to those who reject the Church of Canon and its holy Dogma. This document intends to provide the perspective of the current global conflict from the eyes of the Order of Saint Lucien and perhaps others who to serve the Church.

Before I am even able to address my perspective, it is imperative that I both explain who I am and what this war entails to provide context.

The Context:

I am Bishop Robert Rovin, current Master of the Atlas Chapter of the Poor Fellows Soldiers of Horen and the Temple of Kaer’Raigeki, or the Holy Order of Saint Lucien. I am also a member of his Holiness’s Holy Synod, as well as the acting commander of the whole Faith Militant.

In my youth, I was assigned the role of monk by the late Pontiff Everard IV, and traversed the continent of Axios quite frequently spreading the word of GOD as an emissary. I have performed dozens of Baptisms in my career and have taken great care to study the four Holy Scrolls of Canon.

However, in my service to the church, I was assigned the role of Grand Master of the reborn Order of Saint Lucien in the midst of the Third Crusade. As such, I took great care to ensure a decisive canonist victory alongside those devout enough to fight for a cause greater than petty politics, for at the time, humanity was split into factions seeking the Imperial Crown.

The Order of Saint Lucien partook in the resounding defeat of Norlandic forces (who the order had fought due to the Red Faith attacking temples) and ensured that the initial divide between Santegia and the Church was mended, both forcefully and diplomatically.

At the end of the Crusade, Norland had been replaced with a moderate and controllable government, placed under the rule of Aurelius Horen to watch over. As time progressed, however, the Norlandic government eventually rebelled and became re-radicalized, but I shall delve further into their crimes later in this document. Adding to this, albeit Aurelius initially sinned, the result of the Third Crusade ultimately absolved ALL participants of their sin. Thus the argument that Aurelius to this day is a vehement sinner on the basis that he slew the last of the previous Emperors is inherently a moot point for in the eyes of the church, he was absolved and acquired penance for this act.
 

However at the conclusion the Third Crusade, I had become disillusioned with all conflict entirely, for I had experienced a vision in which continued conflict would ultimately see the destruction of humanity. I had reached the conclusion that in the post crusade world, GOD would soon be forgotten as business continued as normal. Thus, I resigned from my post as Grand-Master, ceding the title to the Order’s current Grandmaster, Holy Ser Rakim of House Yar, so that I would be able to pursue more ventures into philosophy and the faith.

This newly waged war, however, arose from tensions between a Haensetic bloc and that of Renatus. The Apostolic Kingdom of Marna had merged with its cousin, Renatus. Both Haense and Renatus clearly opt for power, utilizing alliances to achieve such. This is a blunt truth, I care not for any defense on either side. I also would like to make it clear that I find any paganic or non-human allies to be disgusting in its own right.

However, despite this, the Haense leadership fled in what I perceive to be an act true cowardice, causing their bloc to collapse in its entirety. However, Renatus, steadfast in its goals, still pursued. In an act of desperation, Haense allied with that of Norland and the Silver State.

Now, we may begin with my perspective on the war, which represents that of the Order of Saint Lucien, and potentially that of the other clergy members.

The Perspective

To begin with, I wish to reinforce the notion that the Church of Canon HELD zero grievance with that of Haense. As far as the clergy, the Lucienists and the Nuns of Blessed Catherine were concerned, Haense was a Canonist state with a canonist populace. The Order of Blessed Catherine was even situated within the borders of Haense, as well as many priests. Thus, from the start, I reject any claim that the church held bias against Haense and plotted to destroy it. If Haense was situated as the home of the main bulk of clergy, why would the church seek to destroy Haense?

Many critics say that the Church showed examples of this bias in its unwillingness to lend martial aid to that of Haense. In response, the Church, rightfully, claimed that the conflict was a secular matter and not one of faith.

The reason the Church believed this initial conflict to be a secular one is simply due to the fact that both warring factions warred for power and titles and not in any way for the faith. Simply stating that pagans fight on the opposite side is not reason in any capacity for the church to get involved.

 

The Paganic allies which Renatus had did not engage in war with Haense due to the fact Haense was Canonist. They, instead, warred Haense for other reasons, such as the simple fact that they were allied offensively with Renatus. Likewise, Haense itself utilized paganic factions to fight its wars, such as local Gallic refugees (as far as the Order is aware of) and even the harbored necrotics within their city. It would be the pot calling the kettle black to ignore this fact.

 

In fact, the Order of Saint Lucien has only TWO rules of engagement. ONE: Use of force is authorized to quell threats/attacks upon the clergy or faith. TWO: Use of force is authorized upon any necrotic being. As such, the plight of Haense fits into ZERO of these categories.

 

Moving on, at this point in the war, the Haense leadership fled and, out of desperation, the remnants allied with Norland. Thus I shall present the grave issue with this alliance.

NORLAND ATTACKS CLERGY  REGULARLY.

 

On more than THREE separate occasions (three simply because I was present, there have been more), Norlandic troops have entered the confines of Judeburg, the new seat of the High Pontiff, and have openly attacked, kidnapped and killed individuals of the cloth, such as the Clergy and that of the Nuns of Blessed Catherine.

If one is so blind as to not see how this warrants church involvement in the conflict against Haense, then truly, you are incapable of clear sight. I believe it is common sense that the church and it’s militant would side against any faction that slays its clergy, for that faction propagates the sin of Sacrilege. It is also imperative to note that the Church is not a MEMBER of the Northern Alliance but instead an ALLY of the Northern Alliance.

Recently, I held a debate with the Marshal of Haense when he was in Lucienist custody (albeit it is believed he escaped utilizing potentially nefarious magicks) regarding this dilemma in particular. He had argued that before GOD, all sin of murder is equated, and that the Church had attempted to provide greater meaning onto the deaths of the clergy than was given by GOD. I retorted this by simply stating that murder based on faith is a different shade of murder, a shade more nefarious. I am in no way stating that MURDER is good in any instance; however, I shall utilize the example I provided unto Marcus:

1. Murder is the color Red.
2. Greed (the intent to acquire trinkets) is the color Yellow.
3. Blasphemy (the intent to harm the faith) is the color Blue.
4. By mixing Murder (Red) and Greed (Yellow), you acquire Murder for Items, or Banditry (Orange).
5. By mixing Murder (Red) and Blasphemy (Blue), you acquire Murder to harm the faith, or Sacrilege (Purple).

As one can see, these sins are not equal. Both are, in fact, sins; however, they remain different shades nonetheless. As such, it is logical to presume that the Purple mixture in this scenario is considered far more sinister than the orange.

 

Furthermore, to clarify, the only form of killing that is in any way justified should be cited from the actions of the Exalted Owyn, in which he PURGED the unrepentant and necrotics which resided in the greatest city of Edel. Thus, I make the distinction between MURDER and PURGING. This is why the Order of Saint Lucien promotes the use of force against necrotics and those who aid necrotics.

 

Continuing, Marshal Marcus argued that the Haensemen were simply defending their homes using the only methods at their disposal- that of an alliance with Norland. I find this notion to be invalid. This value is also shared by the current Haense king.

 

GOD has granted all free will. There is no “single” method or option. There are plenty of other methods to fighting this conflict. Infact, I find it rather ironic that due the fact that Haense decided to ally with Norland and that of the High-Elves, that they potentially acquired more enemies than they would have without their association. Would the church have turned against Haense in a military capacity had they not allied with Norland? Would the Dominion WANT to fight if Haense did not associate with the Silver State and Norland? I am in no way stating that the Dominion are not good allies, I am simply being realistic.

 

Likewise, why does Haense so vehemently reject human unification? I care not for the politics behind the reasoning, but human unity has been a staple of our faith since its conception. It was the will of the Exalted Godfrey who placed humanity under his guidance and protection. It was also under our Exalted Godfrey that those who protested the unity of man were obliterated. Though this may appear rather extreme, is the concept inherently wrong? Why WOULD a human seek to actively promote disunity amongst the race, if not out of greed or lust for power? Ultimately, the Exalted Godfrey promoted survival of the fittest among the factions. If Haense cannot feasibly act to unify humanity nor seeks to and simply wishes to fight to keep its disunity, I find this to be misguided and inherently within contradiction of the Holy Scrolls.

 

At the end of each day, the night sets, and time flows. Our existence on this plane is mere moments in the Lord’s grand scheme. To reject his holy virtues for wooden shacks upon a hill is beyond my comprehension. Tis better to die with honor for something virtuous than to die for something so worldly and sinful. Better yet, it is better to not die at all and simply move on with ones existence if it meant staying virtuous and to not succumb to sin. To side with those who actively butcher clergymen makes one commit the act of blasphemy and sacrilege through sheer association.

 

I cannot judge my own holy worth, for it is shunned within the Scroll of Virtue. However, as a Holy Father of the Faith, with knowledge of the scrolls, I can determine that the current actions of Haense are misguided and motivated by anger and wrath. As such, it is my duty to express these arguments in attempt to guide them to spiritual salvation.

 

I pray they not be damned through foolish decisions, and may soon see the errors of their way. I pray for Haense to reject the Sacrilegious State of Norland and its use of child soldiers.

I, alongside others, have been experiencing horrendous connection issues with LOTC for multiple weeks, if not multiple months now. I will try and keep this both concise and informative and free of any flaming.

In short, whenever I try to connect to LOTC during prime time it often displays "Logging In > Loading Terrain > Disconnected". In this period, only during Loading Terrain, I have the ability to hit escape and see a blue world as well as press tab. Ultimately, the same result of "Disconnected" occurs. I believe this is an issue that needs to be resolved not simply because I need the issue fixed, but because others clearly need it fixed as well as seen with this thread posted multiple weeks ago. I will also post my own video of what occurs: 

I have quite literally tried every conceivable method recommended to me to attempt and resolve this issue, including:

1. Restarting Minecraft.
2. Direct Connecting.
3. Using a different IP.
4. Using a GM to TP me away into spawn while I could press tab.
5. Pressing/spamming f3+a to reload chunks.
6. Joining another server and re-trying.
7. Restarting my internet connection.
8. Restarting my computer.
9. Using command prompt and typing "ipconfig /flushdns"
10. Uninstalling minecraft entirely, deleting .minecraft and re-installing a fresh client.
11. Repeating the above without mods.
12. Repeating the above without resourcepacks.
13. Devoting more RAM to my Minecraft client.
14. Updating Java.
15. Updating Drivers.
16. Cursing at my computer and slamming my desk.

Regardless of my attempts, whether I am connected or not appears to be entirely up to chance. Sometimes I have a fully modded client with resource packs and Shaders and I am able to load in fine. Other times, with a fresh client, for hours, I am unable to.

This is a second video taken from today, the first having been recorded in DECEMBER.

In this video, I attempt to connect to two different IPs with a third being from direct connect. The top server is mc.lotc.co, the bottom is login.lordofthecraft.co. Then, in direct connect, you can see it. After spamming f3+a, it seems to finally work, but this is clearly not the solution since it rarely works.

As said, whether I connect or not appears to be left entirely up to chance. It becomes extremely frustrating because this technical problem forces me to become completely unreliable with scheduling. Whether its an RP meeting, event, raid, etc, I cannot plan in advance since I am rarely able to connect. Likewise, once I do, I cannot teleport or change skins since teleportation disconnects me and I am unable to re-log, and skin changing forces me to re-log by default.

I have also spoken to numerous people regarding this, staff and friends included. I have spoken to Lyonharted, Kowaman, Ioannis, Robert "Good Boy" Goodwill, Sir_Niccum, Hero_Prodigy, and anyone else who would hear my plight. none of their recommendations have aided, and some have outright just not responded (Kowaman pls respond).

Thus, I simply request an answer from the Devs or anyone with any knowledge regarding this issue to simply provide some solutions or tell me if there is none so I have deniability when I can't connect and not appear to be a lazy/inactive individual.

Indeed my fellows, I once was a canonist, true to the scripture, but also to my belief of the Ministry of God, in all forms. As my father and grandfather taught me the ways of the world, so to did the faith teach me the ways of the world beyond, and how to reach there through my actions in this life.

I certainly believe that the Church can, and has, been corrupted.

I have left the faith, not because I disagree with the teachings; rather, I have left because the teachings have bade me to do so…

 

So herein I will place my criticisms of the current actions of the faith, using a number of their own forsaken teachings... Let us Begin..

 

You do not, you cannot, truly change hearts and minds through threats of the body ( forceful conversion). How can we expect to convert those who are astray through our teachings of peace and justice when we use such unholy means to force them to capitulate?

This is why they order us to do such atrocities, and hide behind the justification that it is “The will of God” when it is merely for their own Personal Gain!

While I personally disagree with the idea that any violence is admissible in the faith, I must concede, that salvation for the sins of this world can be earned through a Just Holy War in the original teachings… But do not be taken for fools my fellows, this is No Such War! Perhaps I could understand if there was legitimate heretic aggression leading up to now, but this isn’t the case!

The church is the aggressor ! For Heaven's Sake! HAENSE IS CANONIST! You are being sent out to kill the innocent, even our brothers and sisters! This is all done on the orders of a corrupt system. Corrupt both politically, and in the eyes of GOD!
