    Another great person applying for a position they deserve.

    I comment a lot on these...

    +1 while I'm here, I s'pose. Joshy's always given me an enjoyable experience while RPing with him, even though he does tend to exercise some exclusionary tendencies when focusing on advancing an individual plot of his. That being said, his individual plots are wonderful, and I have every confidence that he'll be able to stretch them to the form of an event. Not only is he the ET LotC needs, he's the ET it deserves!

    Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?: - Yes - Forum-based RP. This ain't my first Ro(deo)leplay.

    What do you think the server will be like? - Very professional, very tightly managed, and very fun to play on as long as the rules are followed. 
    Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes(?) (Unless there's a topic where I have to post that I approve the rules)
    What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: - The rule against underground farms. It just makes sense! Though I like all the ones regarding realism.


    Definitions

    This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not another website / person's!

    What is roleplaying?: - Assuming a fake or altered persona among others doing the same. 

    What’s metagaming?: - Using information, in-character, that shouldn't be available or known normally. E.g. A dim-witted, isolated cave-man quoting the Aeneid accurately just because the RPer is able to remember the book.

    What’s powergaming?: - 1. Creating a super-powerful character to assume dominance over the in-game world, its plot, etc. etc. It removed the challenge of a roleplay and sucks the fun out of it for not just the powergamer.
    2. Cutting the other party out of the Roleplay, by controlling things the other party would normally do, such as dodging attacks or related things. It also removes the other party's ability to decline certain aspects of the roleplay.

    In-Character Information

    Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

    What’s your character called?: -  Griffin Gale

    What race are they (and sub-race)?: - High-Elf

    What sex are they?: - Male

    How old are they?: - 22, literally. Not a very old elf. 

    Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family: - Griffin was the child of relative fortune, brought up not too far away from the city of Luminaire with food on his plate. There was always food on his plate and a roof over his head, and he was safe with his father - his mother had died in childbirth. Like many of his kinsmen, Griffin has always possessed a deep-seated affection for wildlife, though the young elf has preferred horses. Outside the city, he was able to befriend and tame a black warhorse, Thalas, who Griffin has taken good care of for the better part of 15 years. The two are inseparable, and this was to Griffin's benefit, as he eventually had to attend school. Patiently in the city stables Thalas waited until her master returned from his education, occasionally earlier when it came time for riding lessons, and occasionally later when the young elf stayed to spend time with friends or to complete extracurricular work. His experience outside of the city also gave Griff an edge with an axe, his weapon of preference for combat practice at school. In his martial studies Griffin excelled, though he was no slacker in those that did not pertain to combat and strategy. He was no genius student though, just above average.
     
    Shortly after his graduation, Thalas fell terminally ill, and died within the night. Griffin had remained in the city with friends, and did not hear of the news until he returned two days after the death. Thrown into the pits of grief, Griff walked his way into the city and joined the Sentinels, hoping to both escape his sadness with work, and to apply his riding skills and way with the axe to something useful. He is currently a trainee.

    What are they like (personality)?: - Griffin's a pretty easygoing elf. He doesn't get very strong emotions on either side of the spectrum, though he can get angry when he needs to. Oftentimes he's a little snappy and short, especially when he's focusing on something. Distractions irk him, though he can often push through to finish what he's working on. Because of the style and what he took from his education, Griffin has a lot of knowledge about how to conduct himself on the battlefield, though his little experience outside of Luminaire and its surrounding woodland and his age have put him at a disadvantage in some aspects. Regarding combat, Griffin prefers trying to talk his way out of bloodshed, though he can be a little edgy in his conversations, leading to some bloodshed here and there. His time in the Sentinel has proved him to be a good soldier capable of following orders. He is no member of  the hive-mind, and if he is presented with the choice of following orders and killing indiscriminately or disobeying orders and saving face, he will choose the latter. This choice might fly past him because of his naivete and little life experience, 

    What are their ambitions?: - To ascend to a rank within the sentinels where he can have influence on a broader scale. He wants to have a legacy, and not through his children.

    Do they have any special skills?: - Horseback riding, axe-based combat, a good soldier, and calm

    What are their weaknesses?: - Slightly naive, inexperienced in the outside world, not very tactful when it comes to speaking.

    Anything else you want to say about them?: - Nope. This is my first OC here, though, so hopefully I didn't blatantly mess up anything...

    The thing wrapped around his neck and face are his robes, which connect to those that drape over his body. If a uniform is needed for the Sentinel, I can edit this.
