    Karmesinfels cordially invites the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and its allies and vassals to celebrate the shared history of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and The Crimson Edict. 

     

    A brief History:

    The Crimson Edict allied themselves with the Grand Kingdom of Urguan in the lands of Asulon under the Grand King Hiebe Irongut. Ventus Hennington, then Grandmaster of the Crimson Edict, swore an oath to fight alongside Urguan’s folk, and against Orennian tyrants.

     

    Time, place, and festivities:

    The Festival will involve a mock battle with a monetary reward, there will be bobbing for apples, an archery contest, and festival goers will receive food, drink, and gifts at the feast. The Festival will be taking place mid-day on the 7th of the 1st Seed, 26 SA(Friday the 28th at 2:30pm EST at Karmesinfels. Karmesinfels can be found by taking the dwarven road out of the East Hub and following the signs.)

    Hearken unto me, people of Elysium. I believe the only suitable description of the Duke Eugeo de Astrea’s actions would be pure, and simple cowardice. It is not only foolish of him and his that he believes seceding is a possible solution to the war or will somehow he will evade it as a whole, but it is an insult to you as a people that he would give in so easily to the pressures of an insecure Empire, this act will bring about unfathomable consequence to your people and it is shameful that he does not see as much. This is not the first time an error has been made by the Duke, be it refusing any form of courtly justice in the face of crimes in a number of instances, or simple behavior, this man is unfit to make any lasting decision.

    No. Ascending up the tiers in Magic means that you increase your Magical prowess at the cost of a weakened physical form. Basic equivalent exchange, been doing this for years now.

     

    It says in the lore that Magi can evade minor projectiles such as a hand-thrown object, but nothing like an arrow. As for sword strikes, as a Mage, you're a ranged fighter. If you're two feet away from someone with a sword drawn and expect to get off a spell, then you deserve to have your connection broken. Keep your distance.

     

    As of the time of writing this response, it says half plate also becomes an option, which is quite reasonable since that's how things were at. As for the Animatii/Golem limbs, that's a valid criticism; however, I like to think the average joe wouldn't be able to lift a Golem limb anyway, as they're rather sturdy and they're essentially boulders slapped onto your arm, so your argument doesn't really hold up there. Ultimately, it's a minor inconsistency I'm willing to sacrifice for this lore to pass.

    From what I read, it's more like that a Mage can't fight with more heavy leaning weapons without exhausting themselves after a few strikes. I understand how silly it may be that a Mage may be able to lift a 10 lb child, yet can't fight with a rapier effectively, but like the previous response, it's a sacrifice I'm willing to take in consistency.

     

    Weapons aren't completely useless. I could see some adjustment being necessary, but it's an overstatement to call them useless. Ideally, you'd be using your Magic as an offense/defense anyway. I believe there's a middleground to be found, but ultimately, you need to either decide if you're going to be fighting with Magic more or charging in in full plate with a Bec de Corbin. If it's the latter, you probably shouldn't become a Mage.

     

    Again, it's explicitly stated that Magi can evade minor thrown projectiles like a rock.

     

    Bro, I'm sorry, but spell lists and an actual comprehensive limitation on the physical strength of Magi is not the most evil thing to ask for. Some of Evocation's spells are subjectively the most powerful abilities on the server at the given moment, if you use them correctly. Don't even get me started on what you can do with Enchantments at the moment.

     

    Yeah you're right, I can't win unless I have my five MA slots filled, fifty combat spells to go with it, and Voidal Poisoning that has virtually no consequences. Down with the system, I play Lord of the Craft to WIN, not to contribute to an overarching narrative.

    It's adorable how often you quote me just to argue with me. However, it seems you misinterpreted MULTIPLE of my points for the sake of arguing, so I'll indulge you.

     

    You've clearly misunderstood what I meant by balancing physical and magical prowess, I'm not asking for anyone to be a bodybuilder with Voidal Magic nor am I arguing that physical penalties for Voidal Magic is unfair.

     

    1. Physical drawbacks are fine, I didn't say your "Basic Equivalent Exchange" was unfair, as that is literally the most basic concept of Magic and everyone knows this.

    2. Weapons should be clarified more, a rapier is a dexterous weapon, it makes sense to have a penalty for that, however a shortsword or something similar shouldn't kill your stamina in like four emotes, however you shouldn't be able to wield a damn claymore or spend an entire fight sequence slashing and stabbing with no penalty, you should have a bigger penalty than say, someone with better physical strength and training, so non-mages.

    3. I don't know if you've heard of it but there's this thing called RPing penalties and following lore which I've been doing for years and I'm perfectly fine with even more clarification to better RP the magics I have on my character as to avoid issues with the ST and community, I think that's an entirely reasonable thing.

    4. My issue with Voidal Magic is literally the lack of flavorful RP, as it is literally just combat but I suppose you overlooked that, Transfiguration doesn't make up for what other magics lack. Any magic that has attempted to add these flavors, has been removed or denied, OUTSIDE of Household Magic yet that was forced to take a slot after it had previously not taken a slot, though I don't see that as an issue either.

    5. Golem limbs are fine as they are magical constructs whilst still being rather heavy.

     

    Go ahead and pick away at this criticism too as I don't think this is getting across to you very well. My issue with this is continuously weakening Voidal Magic to the point they have a brittle bones disease and your arm gets broken when it's poked by a pointy stick, as that is essentially where this is leading, as mages are ALREADY weak.

  8. I see several blaring issues with this piece of lore that I'm just going to bring up, despite knowing it'll go nowhere with this as Voidal Magic is the ST's favorite beating tool.

     

    A mage should still be able to avoid an attack in close proximity and maintain casting if they're a higher tier, higher tier should mean more experienced at balancing physical and magical prowess not completely running it into the ground. Physical strength weakening is perfectly fine and understandable, but not allowing something as simple as dodging a little bit is unfair.

     

    Anything more than a gambeson causing extreme exhaustion is outright ridiculous and nowhere does your lore mention any kind of replacement limb, by your logic anyone with a Golem or Animatii limb shouldn't be able to cast magic and move that limb at the same time, because this makes it sound like Magi have some brittle bones disease and will crack a hip by moving it wrong like an eighty year old woman. Golem limbs are solid stone and weigh quite a bit, and Animatii limbs are solid metal with room for the mechanisms/tubes that allow it to work. Both quite heavy. 

     

    When it comes to weapons, a spear can weigh as little as two pounds, yet it sounds like that can't be used, and the fact you're saying a rapier and smaller weapons can't be used without exhaustion either is ridiculous. I understand the need for a tradeoff, but making it almost impossible for a mage to do anything on their own is unfair to the community. This makes it very hard for a mage to travel alone, because it takes one guy tossing a pebble in your face to interrupt casting and kill you.

     

    Magic as it stands is bar none one of the weakest things on this server simply because of how much it gets smacked in the head with a baseball bat, and it seems like every piece of lore put out there adds one buff and fifteen downsides to being a mage, with no flavorful RP or anything of the sort allowed half the time aside from Household magic, which if this lore applies to all Voidal magic, nobody with that magic at T5 can do jack with armor or weapons.

    Leyunia gripped the letter in her metallic hand as tears welled up in her eyes, the kid she'd known for nearly a hundred years, gone like that, it took a moment for her to fully process this, standing up and placing the letter down on a table with unsteady breaths. Crack. The table splintered as she slammed her fist into it, the tears finally streaming down her face as the news finally took its final blow. "Why is it I that must lose my family?" She questioned to no one in particular. "You selfish bastard, you didn't...come to me for help, nothing..." She fell silent as she let herself further process the grief, looking at the creature Bolon had placed in her care, patting Nori's head with a forced smile.     Protection of the Community

    The community here is defined as the residents of Marsumar and members of the Edict as a whole, in accordance with their friends and allies.

    • The intentional or unintentional harming of this community is expressly forbidden and will include several crimes.
    • These crimes include but are not limited to: 
    • The theft of items from other citizens.
    • Physical harm towards other citizens.
    • Mental or emotional abuse towards other citizens.
    • Any criminal activity is forbidden.
    • The act of slavery is strictly forbidden and will be met with the harshest punishment we have to offer.
    • The act of banditing is strictly forbidden and will be punished appropriately.

     

    Equality of Persons

    • All individuals are considered equal regardless of class, race, religion, and the like. Worth is evaluated based on actions, not on unchangeable factors, or background.
    • As such, racism, depersonification, and the like are forbidden. Hatred may be considered a beneficial thing in some circumstances, such as against slavers and bandits--again, based on the actions of the individual.
    • Racism is not tolerated in any capacity, and will be met with a suitable punishment.

     

    Punishment & Redemption

    • Punishments are doled out based on the severity of the crimes committed.
    • Punishments are decided by the Council of Marsumar, and are not decided by anyone else.
    • Redemption is possible on a case-to-case basis for individuals who have committed crimes, either within or outside of Marsumar and the Edict proper.

    This stone month’s event is to celebrate the victory the Crimson Edict and Dwarves of Urguan achieved at the Battle of Kal’Ordholm, back in the realms of Axios. This celebration involves a mock-battle, followed by the burning of a Siege Tower, and of course, a large feast with plenty of drinks. Many items await those that wish to purchase them.

     

    (This event will take place on the 26th of July, 6pm EST.)

    Come one, come all, to the first annual Marsumar Anniversary Festival, an event full of fun activities! This festival will take place on the 27th(Saturday) at 7 pm EST, all admissions for activities are free, to participate in any of the events such as Jousting, Melee, or Shogging. After the initial Jousting, a Melee & Shogging, we’ll go Grape-Stomping for winemaking at the Vineyard. The Casino will also be open for those interested. At the end of the night, there will be a feast with a multitude of food & drinking games, followed by a speech. The Fishing contest will be a show of who can catch the most fish within the time limit.

     

    For those wondering, Marsumar is located past the Korvassan Desert, follow the road all the way past the unnecessarily large castle, and you’ll find the road-sign pointing you down into the valley to us. DO NOT GO TO THE FIRST CASTLE.

    Briefly explain the lore behind this construct or creature:

             

    Sorvians, often referred to as ‘Flesh Golems’ in past times, are creatures originally made to be servants. They are merely mimicked life, made from a wooden skeleton, with flesh of Clay and a basic sentience when first ‘Awakened’. They are given life by a ‘Sculptor’, any living being that bears a Soul can learn the art to create such ‘Life’, the soul is required as in order to bring a Sorvian to life, one must imbue the creature with a part of their soul essence, this act is quite exhausting and limits the ‘Sculptor’ to creating a total of 3 Sorvians per 3 Months.

     

    The Creation

    The Sorvians are created by making a skeletal form of wood. Sculpting clay to create a ‘Husk’ of a humanoid creature, it must have all the proportions of a Descendant, with only the four limbs any other Descendant has. A suitable Husk for a Playable Sorvian can range from 3ft”-6ft” in height, though smaller, playable miniature Sorvians dubbed ‘Newts’ can be created, from a range of 2ft”-3ft” with the proportions of a Halfling, along with the unplayable newts only roughly 1ft”-2ft” in height. The “Skeleton” of a Sorvian can be crafted from any type of wood, and every single part of it’s skeleton must be covered in clay, ranging in thickness dependent on the location, a few things such as decorative ridges or lines can be made, though offer no combative advantage whatsoever. If a Sorvians ‘Husk’ is made incorrectly, the Incantation will lead to the entire form cracking and breaking, forcing the ‘Sculptor’ to start anew from scratch.

     

    A Sorvian is given it’s mimicked life through a mask made of Porcelain, for some reason unbeknownst to the ‘Sculptors’ it is the only material capable of containing and supporting the Incantation, an Incantation is a series of phrases written in an unknown and unlearnable language of their own blood, imbued with some of the ‘Sculptor’s soul essence. The Mask, if placed on a suitable husk, will cause the ‘Husk’ to glow a light blue for a few moments, the essence flowing through it’s body and giving it the mimicked life.

     

    Sorvians, when injured, can be healed only by their sculptor, given new limbs of a wooden bone and clay flesh, though it will be discolored comparatively to the rest of it’s body, and scars are permanent for the Sorvian. If a Sorvian is killed, the Sculptor can go through two ways to revive it’s fallen servant, either they can retrieve the Mask of the Sorvian and place it upon a new ‘Husk’, which will awaken the Sorvian, miraculously the body will change and contort to look almost identical to it’s previous Husk, down to every scar. If the Mask of a Sorvian is broken or destroyed, the Sculptor can create a new mask with the same incantation as the previous mask and repeat the process, the Sorvian still identical to its previous body.

     

    RED LINES.

    • Sorvians are genderless, they cannot engage in ANY sexual intercourse.
    • Sculptors can only create 3 sorvians per 3 months.
    • Sculptors can only revive a Sorvian if they follow one of the two paths to do so.
    • This is a feat, meaning it doesn’t take a Magic slot.
    • Sorvians MUST follow the creation guidelines, with the proportions of a human for the heights of 3ft-6ft and the proportions of a Halfling for the heights of a 2ft-3ft of a Newt.
    • Sorvians MUST have a wooden skeleton, clay flesh, and a suitable mask of porcelain.
    • Sorvian Masks take 3 solid hits to break.
    • Sorvians are essentially immortal, though their forms wither and ‘age’ in the sense of the more damage they sustain the weaker they will get.
    • Sorvians CAN learn Sorvian Sculpting but due to their lack of a proper soul, they can only create 1 Sorvian per 3 months, and must use the blood of someone else for the incantation as they do not have blood themselves.
