If so, for how long?: I was GM and FM for a few months last year and unfortunately due to some family issues that I had discussed with the previous manager of the GM team I was removed. I'll gladly discuss the reasoning privately but it's not something I'd like to post publicly

Do you have prior history in any forms of moderation?

Like I said I've previously held staff on the server as well as moderation and administration positions on a few other servers.

Why do you want to join the GM Team?:

When I first became GM I had the goal of bridging the gap between staff and players. To promote trust toward the staff as opposed the mentality that GM's are on a high horse believing that they owe nothing to the players. Today I still maintain the same mind set and I wish to come back on the team and take back up what I started before, bringing more honesty to the players and promoting a friendlier environment between the two.

Summarise the Lore of this magic(s):

Cognatism is the art of utilising a mental link between oneself and a Voidal Horror, created through a mistake in Meditation, in order to utilise certain skills and abilities. Voidal Horrors feed on knowledge, and as such are fed and kept happy through the knowledge you offer them merely by holding a link between the two. The Horror feeds off of the knowledge you learn and therefore holds a semblance of a relationship with the User. While in the beginning the transition from that of a singular mind to two will be rough and may offer the User perverted thoughts, weaker minds and other side effects which negatively affect the User, after the minds have calmed the Cognat will built a balanced relationship with the Horror.

Due to this connection and the deal struck between the two, the Cognat is able to call upon the Horror through meditation, or through innate mental link, to offer forth certain aids or call upon information previously stored in order to enhance the mental ability and processing power of the Cognat. The link between the Cognat and the Horror is what grants the boons, and while this can be broken through warding or intrusion of an experienced Mental Mage, one can reconnect and seek out the link once again through intense meditation.

Cognatism is the proficient art of making best with what was given, and coming to terms with the secondary presence in your mind to make peace with your demons. A Mental Mage can still infiltrate the mind of a Cognat, though will have a hard time doing so, and can even connect with the mind of the Horror, which will send them dazed and out of focus.

Write up a lesson that your character would give to a student:

Yeulf would step into the room with his student. He would silently prepare for the large undertaking he was about to perform. “Are you sure that you’re willing to go through with this? It’s not too late to turn back if you wish to do so.”

The Student would nod his head excitedly. Though knowing the possibility of being driven to insanity he was blissfully ignorant of the facts.

Yeulf would continue anyway. Sure of the fact that his pupil would suffer, though aware that he was capable of handling it nevertheless. “Through connection to the void we’re able to call upon the inhabitants of the void. The Voidal Horror as you would is a being that makes an excellent companion to those with the mental fortitude to handle their presence. The first few stone weeks will be spent in excruciating pain as it prods your mind for any vulnerabilities. Though once this process has been completed you will find that with the assistance of your new found ally you can accomplish much more on a logistical level. Visualising designs in perfect clarity before your very eyes as though it were there.”

He would pause, realizing that he was rambling. “The first step is easiest. All you simply must do is connect to the void. Project your mana so that I might couple with it and keep calm as we continue.” He would say as his head would twitch slightly and he would begin to sink into a meditative state. His eyes would begin to glow a deep purple and as the student watched him fear would begin to grip the student, realizing that the point of no return has been past.

As Yeulf stared into nothingness and his student gazed into the void he heard it. Faintly at first, the cold and menacing whisper that would coil around his mind, making his presence known to the student. The student would break his connection and look to Yeulf. “Is that it?” he’d say. Yeulf would look at him with pity. “It’s far from the end of your journey.” he’d say as the student went off, throughout the coming days the entity would prod and pry at the weaknesses in the mind of the pupil.
