Daily reminder that all of this OOC stuff is stale and everyone is sick of hearing about it. I just want to enjoy my time on the server both RP'ly and OOC'ly without having players come after my friends and I. I mean really do you people enjoy targeting people in and out of character? It's childish and I just want to have fun on the server. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What a birthday present. I come back to find out about a stupid amount of meta gaming that leads to a bunch of "Runesmith students" who break into the altar. Don't pass the rolls and then attempt to make applications is a joke. Happy 19th birthday to me lol. If you want runesmithing maybe take your head out of where the sun doesn't shine.

The thing about the current iteration of runesmithing is that it no longer binds the users soul to the tools once the ritual is complete, you simply need to have an intact soul that isn't tainted (I won't get into Shades that's another debate). Therefore it makes total sense that a runesmith can also be a druid considering that once they've taken part in the ritual they're not effected by the process of making runes nor does it make them weaker for having the magic and practicing it where other magics like void magics would effect druidism. The point I'm making here is that runesmithing isn't like other Deity magics in the slightest. Runesmiths have no specific god to worship or follow and the magic doesn't effect runesmiths like other Deity magics do which makes it much more like a regular magic as opposed to a "Holy Magic" because the lore doesn't even specify what deity is in control of runesmithing.

I really like the lore. But it doesn't really fit in calling it a runesmithing sub-type. From what I can tell it has nothing to do with runesmithing and follows none of the same principles of it other than using thanhic chalk to trace the rune out. As for the dwarves "Suddenly gaining interest" I've been talking with a few staff members for a while about getting flesh smithing re-implimented into the server as a sub-type of runesmithing. However locking it down to a "Doom Forge" (Whatever that is) it exactly how golemancy got locked down with the golem anvil. It limits the amount of people that can use the magic down to those the holder of the "Forge" trusts and quickly gets locked down with a too good to use complex just as the golem anvil was before it got scrapped. -
Love the lore. But it's rather non-specific as to how encasing a mana gem in arcaurum and enchanted allows for the mana to create a sentient being that can be sustained with a somewhat capable intelligence.

Here's the thing. The runesmiths are bound by a ritual before they even begin to learn the art of it (Which I'm sure you're aware of) This ritual binds you to the Aengul who is currently almost dead and is using the last of it's very existence to keep the magic available. The ritual binds your soul to a pair of runic tools. This means that half of your soul is no longer part of you. Take for example the Ascended. At the cost of giving Ariel their lives they can perform Ascended magic but at the cost of no longer being able to perform void magic. This was something that was laid out in Runesmithing from the very start. And we wrote the lore around that fact. Imagine how powerful something like earth evocation and runesmithing would be. slapping runes into stone on the fly and suddenly activating it withing a matter of seconds. It's not something that the magic was written for. Weeks of thinking and writing went into this lore in order to perfect it. And I'd appreciate it if the lore would remain the way it was intended to be. Thanks ~Epicbeast6209 (Yeulf Oathcast)

I kinda thought this was a given. We wrote the magic and based it around the fact that it removes the ability to connect to the void. This is a fact. No salt about it every one of the creators agreed upon this.

That's the most rational thing I've ever heard about runesmithing other than "I don't Rp with you ever and I'm a troll but you need to teach me runesmithing because I said so"
