I have not read all the comments, some if someone has already said this, I am sorry. on the issue of turning pvp off, I agree that it would be abused during raids as well as in a no pvp area, people refusing pvp default (although if you intended for pvp default refusal to finally be able to happen, thank you so much). I think that instead owners should be able to set a percentage of damage received in the area by all who are in the area (not just members). This action would also have a cool down. It would max at 100% and min at 10, 15, or 20. This would keep the sides even, because everyone's received damage is scaled equally, so the ratio of hits needed to kill the opposition is the same. On top of that, an additional compensation would be that weapons used for combat lose durability on the same scale, however, this might cause complications, as axes and shovels when not used for pvp would have to lose durability on a normal scale, as to prevent exploitation to make tools last longer.

If you don't get that reference then good for you, you live under a rock and don't hate me.

*Lily receives the note and proceeds to write back* "Thank you for your concern, I see now how horrible it would be to live like that.I also thank you for helping me notice that, although I will hurt him removing them, how it will save my little boy lots of pain in the long run to remove the ears, as well as the threat of infection. I have removed and buried the ears. I will take the poster down as soon as possible. Lily Sandoran" *The poster has been removed from its spot* ((Any other druid-concerning thing will ask Menarra/Lillith or Rittsy, thx for not being blunt and putting it nicely :) ))

((she didn't take the poster down, just clarification))

*Lily Sandoran walks up to check the poster, and, seeing that no one wrote on it, leaves, sighing and depressed*

((that is an option, if they say they cant do the animation, but id like to try to get them animated first)) ((thx for checking :) ))

((I know that, the outer ears are flopping down, covering the ear hole, he would be able to hear, but the tip is blocking the passage, so he can barely hear, get it :) ))

Help, Druid Needed! In-Character: *A poster hangs just outside the Druid Grove in a very obvious spot, the title written very big so you can't miss it as you walk out of the Druid Grove* Help! My son, Tazura, had his ears torn off by flaking two giant obsidian rocks with his head. The sharp shards cut his ears, by did not tear them off completely, but as we pulled him out, his ears caught, were torn off and fell on the ground! Panicking (shame on me for doing this, for now the monks can't help him) I set a meat trap and killed the first thing that came near it with a bow and arrow (which happened to be a lynx). Taking the ears, I sewed them on my son, and let them heal. Now they flop down and he can’t hear well, but I can’t bring myself to have his ears taken off again. I need a Druid. I have heard they can animate the ears to let my son control them so they don’t flop. If you want minas, take them, I just want my son to be comfortable. So I ask, in final conclusion, if you are a Druid who can do this, help me and my son, please! Lily Sandoran *below there is considerable room for someone to sign and give information* ((Out-of-Character: How is It Going to Work: We could carry the roleplay all out in this forum or you could sign the paper to meet somewhere. That, however, might present some problems, as I would have to roleplay the mom and son, so preferably on this forum. :) Responses: You can't do that! ~ I have gotten permission from Zarsies. A Druid can't do that! ~ Maybe they can't, but according to Zarsies they can. What branch and tier? ~ "The Druid who does it will know what branch and tier would be appropriate." ~Zarsies; I asked him the same thing. Info: I am making a new child character that had his ears cut off, then lynx's ears sewn on, and then animated (linked to his brain so he can move them) by a Druid. There will, of course, be side effects to having animal ears linked to your mind, some of those include having extreme pleasure when being scratched on the head and liking milk.))

So, I was wondering what happens next. Does a forum mod look by and move it into implemented lore or something? I can make a wiki page for it too. Also I would like jistuma to add Bryophites to his page at: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/108261-lore-list/?fromsearch=1 I agree with jistuma on his acceptance post, that sounds good for policy.

What you said is true I agree 1. first section: We have a botanist on our hands! Okay, so ur all correct about that, plants use CO2 for feeding, and if they dont use photosythesis, then they don't need CO2, but lets say that the living most uses CO2 as if it were O2: transfering it to atp and letting off O2, in the inverse of what human bodies do. :) 2. second section: Just because it is not doing much does not mean its not there. chlorophyll could be just like skin pigment, coloring. 3. third section: someone on the forum said in response to a question about a plant that destroyed bacteria(the question being that doctors don't know about bacteria) that they would refer to it as "cleaning the gunk up". This would kind of apply here, as instead of knowing whats happening, they know the result. Another example is this: most people don't care about how a drink machine works, they just put the coin in, push the button and grab the drink. I believe that basic science is perfectly fine in rp, because they don't need to know why. 4. Thx for the complement

Druids or Dryads? Druids: I suppose that it depends. However, the Druids would probablely want to study them. Dryads: I suppose dryads would be less rejective of them, them being part mentally plant

I didnt have them in mind while making this, until i needed pictures Good questions, I will edit the Lore to answer them! Great ideas, i never thought about the sap thing. I will add the sap thing and the co2 thing. those I really like. LM EDIT:: Anyone can become one, you have 1 IRL week to revert the change or it is permanent, period. Bryophites (Playable ‘Creature’) Story One day a little 7 year old girl human wanted to sleep outside, but her parents said she couldn’t because she would catch a cold. Nevertheless, after her parents were asleep, she gathered her blankets and made a small tent of sticks and blankets on a nice mossy spot and went to bed murmuring to herself, “No one can tell me what to do.” Little to her notice, this moss was a special species. Known now as the living moss, distinguished by tiny microscopic golden colored specks in it, this moss was in the stage of Replacement, the final stage of growth. As the little girl slept, the living moss grew quickly around her, it had been saving all its energy for a moment like this. Around an hour later, the moss had fully enclosed her, and emitted a sweet smelling aroma of sleepiness, now she could not wake up. The moss then proceeded to shoot roots and spores throughout her body, reading it and landscaping. As the little girl slept, the moss replaced every part of her body with plant material. Her hair became roots, her skin became a solid unbroken leaf, her organs replaced with plant-made counterparts, her bones became cellulose. Then it came to her brain, last of all, this would be its hardest task. The living moss plunged in, copying everything, from her memories to her skills to her involuntary motions. It linked its semi-conscience with the girls conscience. Spending every ounce of its energy left, it did this so fast the girl still stayed alive. The moss relaxed, it was almost done. It finally analyzed everything it copied; every detail was gone over scrutinously. It finally finished by going into the next and final phase: Body. All this took 5 hours in full from start to finish. The little girl slept through it all. When she awoke, she felt nothing different, nothing strange until she went to pick up her blankets. She was...green and leafy. She felt her hair; it was...roots. Quickly ran to her mom and dad, who were awestruck. They asked her what her name was, what was on her birthday cake last year, and other questions that only she would know. She answered them all correctly, and her parents accepted her as she was: their daughter. Time went on and something wasn’t right, their girl now acting was extremely rebellious since her new body, always saying,”No one can tell me what to do.” The moss had taken the thought last in her mind, and thought it was the focus of her life, as it was the biggest and most fresh, and amplified it to her subconscious life motto/goal/guideline. She was reborn a rebel. She was reborn a plant. She was reborn a Bryophite. What is Living Moss, and Why Does It Do That? Living moss has a deceptive name. Although it looks like a moss, living moss has the ability to make any plant material/cell it desires. However, living moss appears as a moss because that is the easiest form to Replace in, as it needs them to fall asleep to Replace, because no one in their right mind would let a mysterious plant grow around them. In order to survive longer than the Replace stage, the living moss must feed off a life force, draining it slowly enough for recovery, but getting what it needs. By becoming the body, the living moss insures that a life force will always be near. Another reason that being a body would be an advantage is the spreading of spores. Simply put, the mobility allows for reproduction. What seems like a convenient soft patch of moss, can change your life...forever. What is it? A Bryophite is a normal person whose body has been Replaced (probably not intentionally) by living moss. They are completely normal people, they are just different, which leads to them being outcasted. Their last thought before being Replaced is their new life motto or goal. New words: Bryophites: [bRY-o-fite] Bryophitian: [bRY-o-fit-ee-an] Misconceptions(These are Untrue): Bryophites use photosynthesis to get food. Bryophites cannot go in a desert. Bryophite bodies do not age. Bryophites go dormant during winter. Things to Note Because of the link between the moss’s semi-conscience and the person’s conscience, in times of great emotion or feeling the body might respond, this response is sometimes logical to the situation, and sometimes just weird. [Examples:(all Bryophite body reactions are different between people, each person's body might respond differently, but this one thing is always consistent, reacting the same way to the same emotion. These are examples) see strength number three; if a Bryophite is very happy or pleased, the moss might start to grow along the skirts of their clothes; if a Bryophite is sad, the moss might begin to release water droplets into their hair, making it look like their hair is crying] ALL races can become a Bryophite. In the event that a Bryophite and a human have a baby, it would be human. This works the same as normal, even though the Bryophite is a plant. The only time a Bryophite is born is when both parents are Bryophite. In this event, the child would look like the baby would look if it were born from the same parents, not Bryophitian, and then was Replaced. Also, a child of a non-Bryophite and Bryophite has no trace of his/her parent being a Bryophite, they are completely normal. If interrupted it the middle of Replacing after the moss has formed a cocoon (say by someone cutting the moss open) the person will be in a coma, and the moss will be attached to them and will keep growing until the process is complete, you cannot be saved from being a Bryophite once the cocoon is formed. If shown a silhouette of before and after being Replaced, a person could not tell a difference. Bryophite bodies are exact copies with plant material. The moss is sensitive to changes in color though, so a Kharajyr Bryophite will have the same markings, but the coloration would be off, and its fur would be of a given plant material. Everything is changed, down to bodily fluids too. Bryophite blood is a particularly runny sap. It carries nutrients around its body. Saliva is like the liquid found in a pitcher plant. Byrophites breath Carbon-Dioxide (CO2), not Oxygen (O2) Anything that would be fatal to a normal body is also falal to a Bryophite During the process of Replacing, the moss ignores physical objects like clothes or weapons. Bryophite can NOT control their body to grow or change at will.(e.g. a Bryophite can not grow his arm to reach or shoot roots from his hand) Living moss is one of the only plants not able to be controlled by any form of magic. (e.g. a sorcerer can NOT manipulate a Bryophite’s body or control it) Bryophites have a natural liking of sugar water. Bryophites also usually have natural liking to plants. It is rare to find a lumberjack Bryophite, yet not unheard of. (See weakness 6) During the Replacement, the living moss can’t replicate some parts of the brain as well as other sections of the body. While not stupid or even simple minded, Bryophites are not genius. This results in most Bryophite having a hard time becoming a scholar, enchanter or alchemist unless it was already learned before hand. (See weakness 6) Personality: This is extremely varying, as they are virtually the same personality type as they were before being Replaced. However, their motto/goal/guideline given to them be the moss is definitely a definer of their personality. They find it extremely hard, if not impossible, to give up that view or goal in a situation, and its presence is inextinguishable. This trait also doesn’t necessarily govern everything they do, in situations where it can’t be applied, the Bryophite does not try to force it to be applied and govern his or her actions actions. Strengths: Because their bodies are made out of plants, they can regenerate 1.5 times faster than normal humans and can regrow whole body parts that are as strong as the ones that they lost. That is, providing that they don’t bleed out initially. Plant bodies don’t die from age, however, if the life force of the person runs out, they will die. This means that Bryophites usually will live up to the maximum life expectancy rate of their former race. In events of damage to the body, the living moss will sometimes emit small doses of the same sleeping powder that it used during the Replace stage. This results in two things: relief from pain and a soothing aura around them(which might help if someone was angry)(see things to note one) They don’t get sunburn. Weaknesses: Fire, as they are made of plants. Generally outcasted or make people feel uncomfortable because they are different. Because they are made out of plants, they are generally weaker than their former race. They don’t need sunlight to survive, however, sunlight gives them comfort. At 2 days without proper sunlight, they will feel mild discomfort, three and they feel slightly dizzy, day four without sunlight results in extreme dizziness, day five becomes nausea(rply, not plug-ined status effect), day six brings shakiness, and finally the seventh day without sunlight, giving them all of the above and hallucinations. All this goes slowly away, though, when sunlight is reintroduced, and within an hour they are back to normal. Lack of sunlight has been used, unfortunately and sadly, as a torture device against Bryophites. Will freeze to death faster than humans because their bodies are more susceptible to cold. Unless they were previously one before the Replacement, Bryophites aren’t scholars, enchanters, alchemists, or lumberjacks.(see things to note 13 and 14) What Does One Look Like? Description A Bryophite looks like it formerly did in shape, but everything is made plant material. This term is vague, because a huge variety of plants have been found in use, some Bryophite have been found with eyelashes of venus fly traps, others with roots for hair. Only thing that has never been seen is tree bark.(ie, don’t use tree bark) In Minecraft Before Replaced: A normal Dark Elf male (my character, Vadrunn Lilyfoot) After Replaced: His hair is made of thin roots. His skin is a constant leaf. His hair streak is still there. Reality: Some people have been known to go insane. The fact that their body has changed to a plant is too much for them to handle mentally. This Elf Bryophite has run off into the woods and lived alone. It is important to note that this insanity has no direct connection to body changing, the concept of being different for the rest of their life is what drives them mad. This Bryophite has hair of bio-luminescent plant material, as you can see, the possibilities are endless. Want to be a Bryophite? There are a few steps/requirements: You must have an existing character You must read the Lore You must roleplay the Replacement You must make and change your skin according to the Lore (after roleplaying) You must add that your character is a Bryophite in their bio (/persona add bio) Thats it! You don't have to perma-kill the character, as they retain all their memories (and therefore skills) and, since their bodies are copies, they retain the same buffs (race stays same).

*There is a paper on the birch tree to the right of the Cloud Temple World Map, held on by a tiny stone spike barely driven into the surface of the bark to where the tree can easily recover from the scratch((that was for all the druids out there :))) on the paper it reads:* Golemancer Needed! Forenote: If you are reading this and you are or know a golemancer, then keep reading please, if not, this does not have anything to do with you. I am in need of the help of a golemancer. I have all materials collected to make the golem, I just need a kind golemancer of highly skilled enchanter who knows golem-creating runes. There will be a slightly more than meager payment of 70 minas for the one who helps (if you must know, I spent the majority of my money on the supplies, and 70 minas is all I have left). I have the stone masonry skill to make the golem too, so you do not need to worry about the body making, just the enchanting. If you are enterested, please sign below my name and put anything I might need to know about you. Vadrunn Lilyfoot the Dark Elf *below the signature is a considerable amount of room for others to sign* ((put ic stuff below and pm me too))

Out-Of-Character Information What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: OsmiumOtter_5082 How old are you?: 13, nearly 14 Are you aware the server is PG-13: Yes Have you applied to this server before?: No Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Yes What’s the rule you agree with the most?: No Abusing Glitches Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense: No How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: A friend told me about LotC. Definitions What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is a style of gaming where you ‘have a life in the video game’. What I mean is that you interact with others in the game while taking on a personality of a made up character. Roleplaying is totally separate from an RPG(Role-Playing Game) as you are not the center of everything is in the game and there is not a set plot. What is metagaming?: Metagaming is where one uses outside information to give them an advantage in the game. For example, let’s say both you and your friend play LotC and he talks about how at 3:00 on Tuesday he is going to rob an extremely rich moderator. He goes to the house at you are there, save the moderators stuff and life and defeat your friend to win the moderator’s favor and get things. This is an example of metagaming because in reality (of the game) your character would not have the slightest clue that the moderator’s house is going to be robbed. What is powergaming?: Powergaming is where you make your character over-powered/invincible (most evident in roleplay text combat). A perfect example from real life is when little kids are playing with invisible/finger guns and dodge every bullet by move and saying ‘Dodge!’. In reality, even if those finger guns were rubber band guns or Nerf guns, it is impossible to do that. The little kids take advantage of the method of combat and make themselves invincible.(granted, in this case, everyone’s invincible and having a blast, but these are kids) If you have ever played a finger gun war with a four year old, you know that it is not very fun, because (hopefully) you being responsible will fake die ever y shot or so, yet they are invincible. This ruins the fun (though finger gun fights may not be that much fun in the first place) of the finger gun fight. This is the same as in a roleplay fighting. Some either blocks every single oncoming attack including arrows or allows themselves to get hit but just doesn’t die (e.g. looking like a human pincushion/punching bag but acting up to your full physical potential. Another way you can power game is on the offensive side In-Character Information Character’s name: Vadrunn Lilyfoot Character’s gender: Male ♂ Character’s race: ¾ Dark Elf ¼ Human Character’s age: 34 Bio: Vadrunn Lilyfoot was born of a ½ Dark Elf ½ Human mother, Morsa Lilyfoot, and a pure Dark Elf father, Peltris Darkeye. Peltris was 327 when married while Morsa was 60, although she told him she was 318. Upon marriage(in Anthos) to Peltris, Morsa insisted on living in the unpopulated areas near the Elevn Refugee camp (founded after the burning of Laurelin) because she thought that it was the best environment to raise a child one day, this was, of course, to keep her secret. Time passed as Morsa and Peltris had a joyous marriage, and, eventually, had a baby. Morsa came up with the name Vadrunn Darkeye. Peltris took pride in Vadrunn, for Vadrunn possessed light-pale blue hair with one natural sea-blue streak (unbeknownst to Peltris, this streak was a result of the mixed gene pool of Morsa). Peltris would always comment on how good Morsa’s idea out living out in the spacious land to get away from the hustle and bustle of cramped city life. However, Peltris also desire to have his son socialize too, so when everyone was moving from Anthos to The Fringe, Peltris decided he wanted his family to move back to the city. Morsa pushed and pushed not to, but Peltris was not going to be wavered. All this resistance got Peltris to be suspicious, why would she be so against this? Our son has no friends because we live out here, and it is great out here, but he needs to know people. After much fighting and arguing, Morsa told Peltis the whole truth. Peltris was enraged! He disowned his entire family and left, forbiding ‘that scum’ (Vadrunn) to bear his name. Peltris left everything to them except his sword, which was too worthy to be owned by scum, and his clothes. They never saw him again. Morsa did not stop weeping for a whole fortnight. After her weeping, Morsa told Vandrunn what he and she were and why daddy won’t be coming back. From that early age, Vandrunn had to become self-sustainable. He started a farm for his mother to care for and started learning tasks to bring in Minas. He learned how to conceal his identity as being ¼ human and chiseled new things like furniture of stone for his mom. He took care of his mom and helped her travel to Thales, and eventually Athera (where they live just south of Aldersburg). Even though he is part Dark Elf, he hates to wield swords as it reminds him of his father whom he despises, and instead prefers to use an axe as a combat weapon. By that time, Morsa was getting well up in her years, and was too weak for strenuous labor. One night, some people broke in to their house, and Vadrunn, knowing that he could not take on 2 robbers at once, grabbed his axe and his mother and fled twords Aldersburg. While running, his mother tripped on a root and ran straight into a tree. As his mother breathed her last breaths, she placed her necklace in Vandrunn’s hand and said, “Go, be who I know you can be and show them who you are, Vandrunn”. And so Vandrunn picked up Morsa Lilyfoot’s body and gave her a proper burial and set out to show the world. Personality Traits: Vandrunn is slow to make true friends. He also is dislikes other Elves, particularly Darks Elves, and won’t be friends with any pure Dark Elves. Generally seeming open and bubbly, Vandrunn is closed on the inside. A man of few words, he listens and ponders everything before speaking and does not get enraged easily. Ambitions: Vadrunn’s ultimate ambition is for all half-breeds to be treated as if they weren’t and to fulfil his mother’s dying wish. He will give major discounts to half-breeds and has been known to give things for free. Strengths/Talents: Vadrunn has above average fighting skill with an axe, but it is nothing to boast about. Vandrunn is a good listener and multitasker. He is also thinking through things, assessing the situation often. Weaknesses/Inabilities: Vandrunn’s most evident weakness is his inability to use a sword (to the point of refusal). Also, as his father (whom he respected) rejected him, he has a hard time having any loyal to people. Appearance: Vandrunn has pale-blue hair with one sea-blue streak, aqua marine eyes, and bedrock-gray skin. He weighs in at 130 pounds and is 5’ 11”.
