  1. Lockpicking is marvoulous in the right hands. I love camping out at someones house and moving in when they leave or creating tales to get them to leave long enough to sneak in, I don't believe lockpicking itself is the issue, I think its the villains that are. I believe too many people are looking to score vs looking to create RP. I personally only ever once succeeded in stealing something, and its rarely anything valuable because then the person you are rp'ing with does get pissy ooc which effects the ic. (although its gotta be slightly valuable to get the person interested in playing along) Tossing the OOC emotions aside some victims and villains are great and they system works wonders.

How can we make it better?

I'd hate to see lock picking vanish completely. Just a few quick ideas that pop into my mind, maybe something to work off of:

    *brainstorms momentarily*

-Since a GM is there anyway, have the GM enforce the villain needing to leave behind a clue.

-I vaguely remember villain apps, not sure the pro and cons of it and why it was stopped but perhaps you have to be a certain tier villain in order to be a lockpicker.

-errrr, thats all i got right now....

The system itself right now is pretty good, if your chests are locked they're secure against theft. Lockpickers cant get anything unless its a fancy named item and its hard finding 1. someone that has a named item and 2. which chest that would even be in. (only have 3 attempts per.)

So, is it a lockpicking issue, or a villain issue....

"The Kha island has no bridge, correct? It will be a difficult task as my cows care not for boats however may be possible. Would you be willing to help the transfer in case of bandits, as for some bizarre reason bandits often take notice of cattle shipments.

My asking price is 175 mina each as they have many uses and, unfortunately for sellers, supply an unlimited demand for those who know how to breed. If you can agree on the price and to oversee the shipment then we have a deal.

  4. The flyer would catch Rumira's eye as she wanders by, hands full if miscellaneous contraptions. She'd take note of the name and upon arriving home write a letter to be sent by bird.

    "Lo Arabella,

Ay would beh 'appy teh compromise on ah deal 'oweveh un 'undred mina would beh ah loss fer meh. If yeh still want ah few den ay could do et fer tuo 'undred an' fifteh mina each, un 'undred an' ah trade, er somethin' else we can agree on.

*******For fair warning, ice box's from what I've been able to tell are pretty limited. They can store some food but not all. I've been able to store apples, lemons, and fruit like food ingredients but not cooked beefs or potatoes or things like that. I'll test this a bit more when I get home if you want a better idea of what they can do.

  5. Daeron would pull a silver plate from his stove and place it on the counter beside the parchment. As he reads it a dazed expression overtakes him. His eyes would rewind and scan the page once more, rereading the treaty to understand it fully. A breeze of salty mist would enter his lungs and exhale with a sigh. A moment would pass before he slides another silver plate into the stove, atop of it a glossy honey dough.

  6. Rumira sits on the floor of her Kal'akash home, the entire place seemingly gutted. She leans back against the wall and glances down. Near her feet on the left rests the parchment and to the right a long sword with a bright green gem embedded into it's hilt. She'd pull her hands up and rub at her face, her fingers tracing along her eyebrows, down her cheeks, and around to the back of her neck. She would stare at the sword for a long moment before releasing a built up sigh. The frustration, anger, and grief echo almost endlessly throughout the room. She'd stand, picking up the sword with haste as she trails out of the house.

  8. Daeron can be seen pushing a handcart through the city, he stops near the donation area and starts to unload the cart of it's cobblestone, stone, and stone bricks. Sweat trickles along the side of his face and the cloth of his shirt appears darker around the armpits and lower back. Upon unloading the last bit of hefty stone he pulls out a bottle of water and takes a large gulp. His gaze flashes over the materials before he tosses the bottle into the cart and takes grip of the handles. With a slight heavy exhale he pushes the cart forward and heads toward the gates of the city.

((ill drop it off when I get home from work and see what I can do to get some wool))

  9. Daeron strides along as the poster catches his eye. Upon reading it his face would turn to a frown as he is unavailable the day of the party. As he finishes scanning the poster a few words would escape under his breath; "Wish the best to the SLMR on duty that day. I could only imagine the chaos that will arise at the gates. He glances about the area before continuing to his house.

  10. This is the same exact thing that happened to me sunday night. I made two different modreqs to see if it was possible anyone could of stolen it and those searches came up negative. It's extremely frustrating because I spent a week simply crafting the materials needed (not to mention the time spent mining for the crude aurum) and then sunday night, when the spell forge was to be completed, it just disappeared. I understand a lot of people will try to abuse the system but after all the time and effort, schedule shifting, and multiple/similar reports I hope you could give us the benefit of the doubt on this one. I have enjoyed my time here on LotC and have few to no complaints but this is by far the most frustrating/worst experience I've had to go through.
