  1. I actually just wrote a book on this. I think /invsearch shouldn’t be allowed for banditry because there’s no way a bandit would know that I had concealed blades or some marbles tucked away in a pocket. I keep trying to get bandits to RPly search me and not just say "[Bandit] searched him.” For example:

    2019-08-27_16_42_54.png.0375a3e82e3dbce416a46736bd00762f.png

    2019-08-27_16_43_54.png.b002b4ef2412b8208231465d4dcec0f5.png

    2019-08-27_16_46_56.png.bf209392b1da16cc97adfc4a3cd09190.png

And then after one of the thieves held another thief (who was posing as an innocent blind man) at knifepoint...

    2019-08-27_16_54_57.png.c3202ccbaa425759f95f515b8fe00931.png

My stubbornness eventually got them to RP with me for a while. A little into it, some random Oren soldiers came by, and we had some good RP – they accused Arbane of owing them 5k in gambling debt, which he was able to refute after a little while. When Arbane threw marbles behind him and managed to escape with the soldiers. they ignored the marbles and called for us to stop before immediately initiating PVP.

Despite this, I think bandit RP should not be banned, for it has quite a bit of potential. It helps shade the world as less than safe when strolling along the roads. Most people stay in their cities for a reason: the roads can be quite dangerous and hold unknown perils; however, I think that demanding /invsearch else PVP should be banned, and that bare-bones bandit RP that provides lackluster emotes such as the ones presented should be heavily frowned upon. In my opinion, Orc slaving RP is an excellent example of bandit RP: they provide colorful roleplay and don’t have a “mina or die” mentality. Wandering around Sutica alone or unarmed has its consequences, but said consequences aren’t purely annoying – RP should be fun.

    Edit: convinced → accused

  2. Maleos Aldin’s spirit would offer only a cold stare at Daerine, whispering, “You know no one would believe me, and I would never let Caestella throw me in the pit.” Before departing for the astral plane, he would utter, “Contract fulfilled.”

Edit: Maleos danced into the astral plane, playing his rendition of Pretty Boy.

  3. MC name: MaxtonTheGreat

    Character's name and age:
    Maleos Ilindith, 80

    Character’s Race:
    "High Elf"; Mali'aheral

    What magic/s did you learn?:
    Soul Puppetry

    Who/how did you learn magic/s?:
Experimenting with a gift given from a gnome after reading in length of the art from the library in Caliphate and pouring over technique to temporarily manipulate select a rabbit.

Offer an explanation of said magic/s you learned:
Soul puppetry is the manipulation of one's soul indirectly through the directed puppet through connection spanning across the void to often inflict destruction upon they whom are to be manipulating. Though, Maleos is learning it in combination with seeking out a teacher for telekinesis and enchanting to be able to use arcane puppeting, as he is chiefly interested in that from the tomes in Caliphate. The acts performed by the puppeteer are to be mocked by the manipulated unless their concentration is broken, which they are quite prone to, or by Fi'hiiran'tanya or holy magic. It is extremely precise, more so than golemancy if practiced to its fullest extent with an enchanted and encrusted puppet that made only of the finest porcelain. Soul puppetry alone has the puppet look similar to the manipulated, though often fashioned out of different materials to be able to manipulate the harm to various extents, such as one of netherrack being able to burn itself without losing connection. One can manipulate at a distance, though the greater the distance, the more mana it consumes, and the more exhausted they get. They may do this if they have a sample of the person whom they are manipulating, which is a tell for individuals seeking to expose or take down the puppeteer - for one must be stealthy, almost thievish with their "fetish", as it is deemed. Though, the knowledgable know that flesh or hair cannot readily be used as a sample for puppeteering, only fresh blood. They are also terribly vulnerable in the hour that it takes for them to be able to control the puppet, which makes it rather difficult for combat, along with the difficulty in precision with the beginning user. The beginning user gets rather tired easily, and is more prone to the curses evoked on others.

How can you declare yourself mali'thill?: I was born of pure and fair heritage, and I  live bmaehr’sae hiylun’ehya dearly; greatly expanding my understanding of the world around us through literature and elders which have shown me my faults and misjudgements. 6. What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: MaxtonTheGreat
    How old are you?: 15
Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13): Yes
Have you applied to this server before? (Please link all past applications): Yup! https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/128225-maxtonthegreats-application/
Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Indeed
What’s the rule you agree with the most?: You need to keep in-character at all times. If you need to use OOC, you can either privately message the player using /t <minecraft name>, or by using Local OOC. This channel can be accessed by putting double brackets before your speech, like this EX: ((Like this. Don't spam Local OOC. Use PMs.))
Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules): The abuse of racial benefits is simply not allowed. Selecting a race which is not the same as your character's race is considering abusing plugins for an edge in mechanic based combat, doing so will result in the deletion of said persona (persona being the mechanical representation of your character), with no refunds in skills or items.

What is roleplaying?: Acting as a persona and reacting to situations in ways that the character only would; adapting the mentality and atmosphere of a character to live in a world that they would. One acts with no regard to external conditions nor impacts that are unreachable to the role-played character.
What is metagaming?: Transferring out-of-game knowledge or talk into the world of roleplay. For example, telling an individual that you are at 1009 X and 630 Z when one's character is not equipped with such devices capable of locating exact location nor has any skills or intimations that one is located at said coordinates. Meta gaming can also include talking about subjects that are not included in the universe of the game, such as talk about Oreos being so good when Oreos (sadly) don't exist in the universe. One could make them exist in the universe by roleplaying experimentation or an accident with sugar and bread, but if it is just an offhand remark or conversation, it would be considered out-of-roleplay.
What is powergaming?: Working in a way that is highly unrealistic to the scenario and the universe. It is often used for metagame purposes; individuals will do things that are borderline impossible in order to dodge in-game impacts and consequences. If someone were to play as an oaf of an ogre that got trapped after luring sweets that had rendered the ogre unconscious to slowly drop them into a pit of lava, it would be powergaming to then suddenly wake up (for no apparent reason) to break free from the trap to climb up and escape.

    Character’s name: Ilkrith Alymar
    Character’s gender: Male
    Character’s race: High Elf
    Character’s age: 63
Biography: Beginning as a young quite curious individual, Ilkrith desired nothing more than to fully grasp the wonders of the realms, reading of the lands, studying species, and collecting a great deal of literature (especially Ancient Elven and Ascended). Ilkrith came from the order of Wardens, though having been removed, his father grew more bitter and thus strict to traditional values. Ilkrith was far too young to join them while they lasted though. His father also vowed to have his offspring be upstanding warriors. Omitting the traditional practices of family life, a bitter dynamic was formed between his parents upon the mundane, ritualistic interactions that were loathed by each party. Escaping this, he had a sibling, Illidar, to which he could guide to the wonders of the Seven Skies, closely bonding with them for a great deal of their life. One day, upon hearing a wild call, he ventured forth into the wilderness. Upon being spotted testing out a nature call, a Wood Elf, named Cyana was to be met; whom he embarked on a life of magic, itinerary, and crafts. While in the forest, the two were spotted collecting ingredients for an enlightenment ritual, and Cyana was captured and executed for trespassing, leaving Ilkrith to flee before persecution. He was also shunned by the community if he were to return.

Up escaping to a small hamlet, he began a life of failed interactions, unappreciated artwork, and neglected tune, a new dreary life began. Life was rather barren outside of Tahn'siol, as he had known no other life due to confinement within the lands of pure-blooded elves. These folk of  mixed blood, mostly of heartlanders, lack the etiquette of Athera, making grumbles and low-pitched barks; everything that he had lived to with maehr’sae hiylun’ehya turned around into a seemingly uncultured manner. Despite being of the purest of heritage, he was treated as a High Elf would with the indigent. Though, life without unyielding tribute to Kalenz Uradir was, to some degree, preferable. After finding some ties to toy with at the bar, tinkering and crafting was brought up once more. He made quite the stock of items all in the unconscious aims of gifting them to his little sister if he were to find him. One day at a bar, he was spotted accidently taking the stool of a distasteful fellow who had just returned. The man enchanted the drink with a spike of foolery, leaving Ilkrith on a stage crafting a tune and dancing with soon others. Ilkrith had become the spotlight of the scene, causing frustration to boil to a point of the unkind man hurling a shot glass at Ilkrith. The fellow was then reaped of his honorability in the lands, also causing him to no longer have the will to being in the tavern. Left unconscious for two days from falling off of the stage onto his head, Ilkrith left the scene in fear of repeating humiliation that would lead to a possible situation similar to that of his homeland's foul nature toward him. He then began a life of nomadism, making enough to acquire raw materials and living off of trinkets and performances to life a life of wild taverning; at least until he was encountered by a cultist of the Black Scourge.
Personality Traits: Ilkrith is an upstanding, romantic individual yet inquiring tinkerer that seeks knowledge and adventure in all forms. He enjoys a great deal of adrenaline-induced encounters to turn into splendid tales as well. He is constantly struggling with rejection and displacement, as almost all folk that he encounters are new faces that have yet to judge him.
Ambitions: He strives to collect volumes upon volumes of literature and trinkets, creating some of his own as well. Ilkrith is driven to be wild and voyaging, living life as it comes with a suave swing to it. He strives to find his sister unconsciously as well. Ilkrith also sees a hidden layer to reality, which is hinted at in his various Ancient readings to which he devotes much of his time to unearthing.
Strengths/Talents: He is intensely socially adapting to surrounding environmental conditions, along with being very cultured yet swashbuckling. Ilkrith has a way with things, always seeing objects as ingredients, inspecting their usefulness and potentials.
Weaknesses/Inabilities: Ilkrith greatly suffers from a lack of solid relationships and foundation, having an always shifting livelihood which is both loathed and loved. Despite this becoming less true as he's gone on, he wasn't too terribly successful with people, haunting him throughout all of his travels. He is also traumatized by the execution of his first love along with the scorn of his homeland.
Appearance: Standing at a solid 6 feet and an inch tall, Ilkrith is rather slender yet toned High Elf with brushed-right and up blonde hair. His skin reflects the shade of the moon, and his aqua eyes pierce the day. He wears garments of a traveling mage and craftsman, tainted tan and a deep grey. Pouches of all kinds are always at the ready.
